That Man From Turkey

A Warning to Russia

In today’s online edition of the Daily Mail Australia a headline read “President Erdogan warns Putin that Syria will face ‘consequences’ if it wades into Turkey’s offensive in Kurdish enclave.” The article went on to say; “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that Syria will face ‘consequences’ if it wades into Turkey’s offensive in Afrin. Erdogan told Putin that Turkey’s military operation in the northern Syrian Kurdish enclave will continue as planned during a phone call between the two leaders. The pair spoke amid reports that Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad’s regime has agreed to support Kurdish fighters and that government forces would be entering Afrin ‘within hours’. Russia first intervened in Syria in 2015 by backing Assad with air strikes that targeted both ISIS and other jihadists as well as rebels fighting government troops. Turkey, meanwhile, is attempting to clear the Kurdish People’s Protection Units YPG from territory along its border. Ankara sees the group as a terrorist offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), blacklisted by the United States and the European Union. Syrian state media said today that Assad’s forces will ‘bolster’ local forces in confronting Turkish ‘aggression’. This suggested the Syrian government and YPG militia had struck a deal aimed at repelling an ongoing Turkish offensive on the area.” This morning, Turkey’s foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, warned that ‘no-one can stop us’ as he insisted that his country was ready to battle Assad’s forces if necessary. He said that ‘if the regime is entering to protect the YPG, then no one can stop us, stop Turkey or the Turkish soldiers.”

The man from Turkey

Erdogan, the man from Turkey, must have Syria to further his ambition to see the Ottoman Empire revive and established throughout the whole Middle-eastern region including of course Israel. Assad is the obstacle to this happening. While the man from Turkey has not established the Caliphate as yet there is no doubt this is what is on his agenda. Even though Iran seems to support Syria it will not oppose Turkey if Erdogan decides to take Syria. It would give him complete control of the whole region. Ultimately Iran will join forces with Turkey and the other Islamic nations that will invade Israel as we see in Ezekiel Chapter 38:1-5. Russia is a problem for Turkey but this is not new as Turkey and Russia have a long history of war with each other. Turkey has its roots in Islam but Russia has its roots in the Russian Christian Orthodox tradition. We have already seen Putin ‘hobnobbing’ with the Russian Orthodox Priests.

Resistance

We also know that America has a military presence in Syria as well and that this is also causing Erdogan some agitation as it is just another obstacle to seeing his dream of the Turkish Ottoman Caliphate established. We are told in the Bible that there will be nations that will oppose the armies of the Antichrist. (Micah 5:5-6) (Ezekiel 28:6-10) The armies of the Antichrist will be a large Islamic army, most probably the 2000 million man army that crosses the dried up Euphrates River being armoured vehicles with missiles.(Revelation 9:13-19) When the last King of the North (I am persuaded is Turkey) marches down towards Israel with his huge army he will be opposed militarily. (Daniel 11:38-40) We are told also that reports from the east and the North will alarm him. (Daniel 11:44) Red China lies east of Turkey and Russia North of Turkey. Red China will never accept Islam, neither will Russia even though there are many Muslims in Russia.

War is looming big time!

Before these nations clash I am persuaded that according to the prophet Daniel Israel will have a war with Iran. (Daniel Chapter 10:13, 20) Already with the situation in Syria and with Israel warning Iran, it would seem a war is looming on the horizon between Israel and Iran. The stage is now being set for the Time of the Big Trouble when Israel will be centre stage and at that time the whole world will be in big trouble. (Jeremiah 30:1-7) (Daniel 7:25; 12:7b) (11:2; 12:14; 13:5; Matthew 24:15) How far down the track the Time of the Big trouble is we will not know until the abomination of desolation occurs on the Temple Mount at the hands of the Antichrist. At the close of this present age there will only be one hope for the world’s survival and that will be the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus the Messiah.(Matthew 24:21-22) Whatever else we do we must make sure we are dressed with the wedding garments of salvation and ready to meet the Bridegroom when He comes for His Bride! (Luke 12:35-40)
