I was reading an interview conducted by a Messianic Jew with a young Jewish lady who has rejected her Jewish heritage and renounced being Jewish if this is possible? She had decided to become an “ex-Jew.” In the interview she approved of the ‘Palestinian’ cause, said Prime Minister Netanyahu’s followers were “brainwashed” and that “the Jews were not God’s chosen people.”
During the whole interview when asked the question by the interviewer; “What about the Bible speaking of Israel as a chosen people?” she answered; “It sounds like hallucination. Someone invented this story to motivate his followers. Judaism is an invention of people who wanted to create a sense of unity. Those believing in the Exodus believe in a legend. The whole story about God is an invention.”
The interviewer responded; “Which means that all those people who came out of Egypt, say a million, were hallucinating? She replied; “There was an emigration from Egypt, but speaking about God? People want to believe in some higher power, and to justify it they invent stories that support their belief.”
When asked by the interviewer; “Let’s cut to the chase. You are no longer a Jew. Why?” she replied; “To begin with, over the past few years I felt that I no longer want to celebrate the Jewish holidays because of the closure in the territories (a measure by the way to prevent acts of terrorism). “But generally speaking, I don’t feel connected to anything Jewish. I will not circumcise my son, if I ever have one. I will not be married by a rabbi. I felt that people are doing such bad things in the name of Judaism, that I don’t want to be a part of it. It feels strange for me to say that I am Jewish, because this word means nothing to me.”
Sadly this Israeli lady thinks she has made the right choice for herself but has believed the satanic lie that Israel is of no consequence at all in the overall scheme of events in the Middle-East and that God has nothing to do with the people of Israel. She is to be pitied in that she has a rich spiritual heritage spanning over 3,800 years of history and has rejected her birthright for a substitute belief that is in reality a “Mess of Pottage.”
She has also embraced the ‘Palestinian’ lie that has taken hold of her mindset. If this Israeli lady only knew Jesus the Messiah as her Saviour, Lord and Passover Lamb, she would discover what it really means to be fully Jewish and a daughter of Abraham! (Luke 13:16)
She would realise her rich spiritual heritage and inheritance in the Messiah our Lord Jesus. She would know that whatever happens in Israel that He is coming back to rescue his people. She would know that in His first Coming He came “to save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
She would know that in his Second Coming he would save Israel from all of their enemies. As Luke writes; “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us; to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.” (Luke 1:68-75)
What a rich spiritual and national heritage this young Israeli lady has if only she knew its reality. After all “Salvation is of the Jews!” (John 4:22)
