An Undivided Jerusalem!

It’s on the Move!

Relocating the US Embassy to Jerusalem and publically declaring the City of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a very courageous thing that President Trump has put into motion and besides that, since the time of King David, Jerusalem has always been the undivided capital of Israel. President Trump was merely stating what has been a fact for the last 3,000 years according to history and the Bible. Former President Clinton said he would relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem but he didn’t and when you consider the millions of dollars from the Saudis going into the coffers of the Hillary Clinton foundation you can see why Clinton’s promise was nothing more than political rhetoric. Then along came President Bush walking “hand in hand” with the Saudis doing oil deals and it is clear why Bush did not go any further regarding the status of Jerusalem. He valued the oil and the revenue from the Saudis more than he valued the interests of Israel in the matter of officially and publically recognizing Jerusalem as its Capital. In fact as far as I know no American President since 1948 ever publically acknowledged and endorsed the City of Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel. I fully support President Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and to publically acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. I watched his speech to the media and he clearly said he would do what he has promised and had already started laying plans for the relocation.

3,000 years

Once again in the media it has been reported that Prime Minister Netanyahu met with European leaders and set them straight on the Historical and Biblical status of Jerusalem. There is no doubt Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a strong and capable leader who recognizes the historical and Biblical fact that Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for 3,000 years since the time of King David. It is also clear that Satan is turning many nations against Israel because of God’s Biblical and prophetic plans for Israel in these last days. President Trump’s decision could see many Jewish people in Europe driven out by applied pressure to go back to Jerusalem. According to the prophet Ezekiel and Zechariah the Jews have to be back in Israel before our Lord Jesus the Messiah comes back.

Anti-Israel ‘rhetoric’

I am persuaded that a time will when the conditions that prevailed in Europe, especially in Germany in the early 1930’s concerning the Jewish people, will happen again in the near future. Those who think that President Donald Trump is creating a situation that will bring about more violence and tension are only bringing to the forefront the enmity and bitter hatred they already have towards God’s ancient people. Their anti-Israel rhetoric is nothing new. Any chance they get, Israel’s implacable enemies will “dig their teeth” into Israel like “rabid dogs” and denigrate any political leader or nation or Christian for that matter that supports Israel.

A disturbing trend

One of the disturbing trends in Christendom these days is that there are now multitudes of Christians, including many evangelicals, who are actually in favour of a Palestinian State even though God’s Word does not endorse or sanction this. Even the Pope of Rome does not agree with President Trump’s decision. Of course the Church of Rome and what the Bible actually teaches, especially concerning Israel, parted ways centuries ago. Those who take a stand against Israel are taking a stand against the LORD. Many claim to believe in the Bible but try to ‘spiritualise’ away those plain texts that clearly and unequivocally teach the Biblical, national and spiritual restoration of Israel in the last days. The prophets wrote extensively about Israel’s national and spiritual restoration in the last days. As the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus the Messiah gets closer Jerusalem will become increasingly centre stage in world affairs and the subject of much debate and even dissention in the ‘hallowed halls’ of the global political world.

A ‘heavy’ stone

There is no doubt that the prophet Zechariah was right when he wrote; “The burden of the word of the Lord concerning Israel. Thus declares the Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him, “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured (ripped or torn apart). And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.” (Zechariah 12:1-3)

“Torn or ripped apart”

All those nations that seek to ‘lift’ Jerusalem, to destroy its uniqueness as Israel’s capital and divide the city and the land itself, will find it a very heavy stone and they themselves will be severely injured or, as the Hebrew language puts it, they will be “torn or ripped apart.” I am also persuaded that those nations that support Israel in these last days that God may well have mercy on them and heal their spiritually backslidden state. Hopefully the Australian government will always stand with Israel. Having said this the time will come when something so terrifying will come upon the surviving remnant in Israel that they will cry out to the LORD in their extremity and He will hear from heaven and send back our Lord Jesus the Messiah to deliver Israel and to rapture and resurrect the beleaguered saints around the world. It will be a time of Trouble for Jacob but he (Israel) will be saved out of it! (Jeremiah 30:1-7)

An Undivided capital!

As this time approaches in the near future I sincerely hope that Prime Minister Netanyahu will still be in office having been duly re-elected. He is a strong and capable leader who believes in the Biblical mandate from God that Jerusalem is the undivided capital of Israel and that Israeli and Arabs can work peacefully, as many already do in Israel today, despite what the media reports. May Prime Minister ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu come to see that our Lord Jesus is his Messiah and the hope of Israel’s future!
