An Annulment?
According to ABC News Online dated 15.12.2017, Turkey’s Erdogan has said that Muslim nations will ask the United Nations for an “annulment” of President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The report went on to say; “Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the initiative would start at the U.N. Security Council and if it’s “vetoed there, we will work within the U.N. General Assembly for the annulment of this unjust and lawless decision. “Erdogan spoke to a rally in the central province of Konya via teleconference on Friday. His comments followed Wednesday’s summit of Muslim and Arab nations — the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation — which declared east Jerusalem the capital of occupied Palestine and urged the world to recognize the state of Palestine. Turkey has been one of the most vocal critics of Trump’s Dec. 6 decision on recognizing Jerusalem.” There is no doubt that he is the foremost leading spokesman for the Islamic nations concerning Jerusalem an d an advocate for a Palestinian State. Erdogan is no friend of Israel. Some time ago he called on all Turkish Muslims in Israel to flood the Temple Mount. Whether he will find support from those within the UN remains to be seen but already, given UNESCO’S blatant denial of Israel’s connection to the Temple Mount, it would not be surprising to see the UN turn against Israel.
Erdogan’s agenda
Erdogan of Turkey has ambitions to establish his own Turkish Embassy in East Jerusalem. According to CNN today on the 18.12.2017 Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he hopes one day to open a Turkish embassy in Jerusalem, ahead of a possible UN vote Monday which seeks to nullify the US decision to recognize the city as Israel’s capital. “We have already declared East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state, but we haven’t been able to open our embassy there because Jerusalem is currently under occupation,” Erdogan said in a speech Sunday to members of his AK Party in Karaman, southern Turkey. “But God willing, the day is close when officially, with God’s permission, we can open our embassy in East Jerusalem,” he said, according CNN affiliate, state broadcaster TRT. Erdogan’s speech came after an emergency meeting of the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation last week recognized East Jerusalem as the occupied capital of a Palestinian state. The decision came in response to US President Donald Trump’s promise to move Washington’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and recognize the city as Israel’s capital.” Well, according to the Bible God is most certainly is not willing to have a Turkish Ottoman Embassy anywhere in Jerusalem or a so called ‘Palestinian’ State for that matter! Erdogan’s “god” is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but “a foreign god.” (Daniel 11:39)
Ionia
I am further persuaded from the Bible that Turkey will become the foremost nation in Biblical prophecy in days to come. In Daniel chapter ten we have described a war between Israel and Iran which has been explained in the study on this website titled; “The Prince Over Persia.” In Daniel chapter 10:10-13,20) we see the Lord Jesus supported by Michael the archangel fighting in the unseen and spiritual realm against the Satanic Prince over Persia (Iran) Then following Iran we are told that “the prince of Grecia will come.” The Hebrew language translated is “Javan” or “Yavan” or “Ionia.” Alexander had a Western and an Eastern leg of his vast empire. Ionia was part of Alexander’s Eastern Empire and today it is located in modern day Turkey. These two end-time battles Daniel describes are connected to the last days (Vs.14).
Not by Human Hands
Also in the book of Daniel we are told that the man of sin will come in the character of Antiochus Epiphanies and that when rebellion against God and wickedness abounds in the earth, that this stern faced king will arise, a master of intrigue and understanding dark secrets, who will become strong but not by his own power but by Satanic power. Erdogan has a background of Sufi Islam which is the mystical branch of Islam. Just like Adolph Hitler the antichrist will be able to sway the masses to follow his agenda He shall cause astounding devastation and succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people namely faithful Jews and Christians especially in Israel. He will be crafty and magnify himself in his own heart and by ‘peace’ destroy many. He will talk ‘peace’ but war will be in his heart and that primarily against Israel. We are also told the he will take his stand against the Prince of princes (the Lord Jesus) yet he will be destroyed, not by human hands, but by God’s power. (Daniel 8:23-25; 11:45)
Satan’s throne and city
While we cannot be sure who the man of sin will be Erdogan most certainly is in character with the man Daniel describes. In the book of Revelation when John wrote his seven letters to seven churches they were all located in modern day Turkey. Ancient Pergamum was where Emperor Worship really came to its full fruition in the Roman Empire. The Ceasers of course were all types of the antichrist to come as John tells us that there are many antichrists which all teach us about the ultimate one to come. (1 John 2:18) Also John writes concerning the city of Pergamum that it was “the city where Satan lives and has his throne.” (Revelation 2:13) Then in Ezekiel 38 the nations that attack Israel in the last days are mentioned by name. Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, Beth Togarmah are all located today in modern day Turkey.
The King of the North
The whole Islamic world is waiting on the Mahdi of Islam to arise whom they believe will unite the whole Muslim world and especially this expectation is strong among the Islamic regime in Iran. Turkey is directly north of Israel and the antichrist is also called “the King of the North.” (Daniel 11:40) He will be opposed by the King of the South. Erdogan has plans to restore and revive the Turkish Ottoman Caliphate with himself as the supreme Caliph of Islam. Positioning himself as spearheading the establishment of a Turkish Embassy in east Jerusalem would draw more Muslims to his cause namely a global caliphate with himself as the designated caliph. He is the one approaching the United Nations on behalf of the Islamic leaders’ objections to President Trump publically announcing that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. In fact the whole Muslim world is looking for a strong leader to unite them in a global Jihad.
Up in arms!
Already around the globe Muslims are up in arms at President Trump’s announcement. Added to this, previously, some Islamic clerics have already started to give titles to Erdogan that would only be said of deity. Time will tell of course if Erdogan is in fact the man of sin, but in the light of current affairs in the Middle East and the latest global upheaval at Donald Trump’s clarification of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the last and final “King of the North” may well be planning his ride across the pages of history. The whole goal will be to destroy Israel and the holy people as this is Satan’s agenda because he knows that his time is short. (Revelation 12:12)
How it will end
Praise the LORD we know how it will end. Daniel also tell us; “He (antichrist) will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time (3.5 years or 42 months). But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever. Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’ (Daniel 7:25-27)
