According to Israel Unwired Online on Monday a headline read, “Israel Preparing to Annex its Biblical Heartland” The article went on to say “As the Trump administration’s “Deal of the Century” moves forward and Israel prepares its own annexation team, Prime Minister Netanyahu has made it clear that this is an historical opportunity to finally receive backing on the Jewish Nation’s most important locations that Israel is ready to annex.
At an election campaign event Prime Minister Netanyahu said the following: “It is not just about Land, it is the fulfilment of the Zionist dream. It is our Zionist destiny. This is our story of Israel. This is our birthright. This is our ancestral homeland.” Judea and Samaria is considered the heartland of Israel and the cradle Jewish civilization. No other sovereign nation has had control of those areas and no other people can trace their collective root to areas such as Hebron, Jerusalem, Beit El, Shilo, and more.
Prime Minster Netanyahu went on to say, “It is because this is the Land of our ancestors that we returned to this Land, all the places that are mentioned in the Bible, Shilo, Beit El, and the rest. All those Biblical places will finally be recognized by the US administration as under the sovereignty of the State of Israel. Areas of the land of Israel will finally be recognized as being sovereign to the State of Israel” he said.
Judea and Samaria were conquered by Jordan in 1948 and illegally occupied by the Hashemite Kingdom for 19 years before being liberated by Israel during the Six Day war in 1967. There is no doubt we are in historical and ground breaking times. The next stages will be even more miraculous as Israel is ready to annex the most important areas of the Biblical Heartland.”
There is no doubt that God is at work in Israel and especially in the heart of Prime Minister Netanyahu who I think knows his Bible well concerning the boundaries of the Land God has allotted to His people the Jewish nation. The boundaries are clearly defined in scripture. (Genesis 18:16-19) The land includes the geographical boundaries from the River of Egypt (the Nile) to the great river Euphrates. This means that all of modern day Israel including Judea, Samaria and Gaza, the lower half of Lebanon and Syria, all of Jordan and half of Iraq are all included in the covenant promise.
While Israel at present does not have all of the land that is their spiritual inheritance in Abraham and the Messiah, the day will come when they will “possess their possession” and “possess the gates of their enemies.” (Obadiah 1:17) (Genesis 22:7) We need to always keep in mind that there is “a partial hardening of their hearts” by and large towards the recognition of the Messiah our Lord Jesus, but a time is coming when they will recognize Him and return to Him and in that day “All Israel will be saved.” (Zechariah 12:10-14) (Romans 11:25-29)
Prime Minister Netanyahu realises that Israel has a future as a nation. Even though multitudes of people in the nations and within Christendom are gathering against Israel, and even though tough times are ahead for Israel, a faithful remnant will come forth to co-reign with the Messiah in His Messianic Kingdom on earth. (Zechariah 13:8-9)
Both Jewish and Gentile believers in the Lord Jesus will co-reign with Him. In that day there will be one flock and one shepherd. As the Lord Jesus Himself said; “I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.” (John 10:16) Hopefully Prime Minister Netanyahu will come to believe in the Lord Jesus for salvation and be there to witness the inauguration of his Messiah!
