“He will extend his power over many countries, Egypt will not escape. He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt with the Libyans and Nubians in submission.” (Daniel 11:42-43a)
According to a report yesterday in an online major media outlet a headline read: “Egypt and Turkey seek to overhaul tense ties with frank talks on Libya.” According to the report Egypt and Turkey on Thursday held talks on the conflict in Libya, where they back competing factions, in Syria and the security situation in the eastern Mediterranean, in a push to rebuild their fractured relations. The discussions, held over two days and led by deputy foreign ministers, were the first high-level public talks for years between the two powers, who fell out over issues including opposing positions on political Islam and maritime borders. Turkey has been striving to mend fences with several U.S.-allied Arab states including Egypt which has so far responded cautiously to Turkish overtures.”
It is no secret that President Erdogan of Turkey has publically shown his support for, and belief in, the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. Back in 2014, when the now president of Egypt Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, was running in the Presidential election he vowed publically that he would ban the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and that the organization as an entity in Egypt “will not exist” he had said. When he was elected he kept his word and outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood. Having done this had put him at odds with the other Middle-eastern neighbours who courted and associated with this militant organization with an ideology that wants to see Islam spread around the globe. The Creed of the Muslim Brotherhood is as follows; “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
Even Obama entertained members of the organization in the Oval office during his presidency. It seemed clear at that time that Islam had its own man in the White House. In an interview with Obama some years ago on nationwide television he spoke about his Muslim faith and then quickly corrected himself. Years ago President Erdogan publically stated; “The mosques are our barracks, the minarets our bayonets, the domes our helmets and the faithful our soldiers.” Turkey is the strongest supporter of the Muslin Brotherhood and its ideology followed by Qatar. Having said this, the movement is considered a terrorist organization by the governments of Bahrain, Egypt, Russia, Syria, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Now we know from the Word of God that the man of sin will arise from Turkey. The Book of Revelation alludes to this fact. (Revelation 2:13) In Ezekiel Chapter 38 Gog is the chief prince over Meshech and Tubal. Gog is another name for the man of sin we also call the Antichrist who will come from the land of Magog. On ancient middle-eastern maps Magog, Meshech and Tubal are geographically located in the region of modern day Turkey.
Now we are also told in the Book of Daniel Chapter 11 that the man of sin “will exult and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods.” (Daniel 11:36a) This corresponds directly with the Book of 2nd Thessalonians where we read; “He opposes and exults himself over everything that is called god or is worshipped, and even sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:4)
Also we are told in Daniel Chapter 11 that the ‘god’ of this man is “the god of fortresses” and that “he attacks the mightiest fortresses with the help of this foreign god.” (Daniel 11:38-39) When you consider the emblem of Islam it is the crossed swords pointing upwards denoting conquest by the sword which is the trademark historically of Islam.
The man of sin or lawlessness (Torahlessness) will be a man of war and the last King of the North who will do battle with the last King of the South. The first conflict historically happened between two of Alexander’s generals after his death. You had Seleucis in the North who ruled over Syria, Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, and the Iranian Plateau. You had Ptolemy in the South who ruled over Egypt. Later in history Antiochus Epiphanies the Seleucid Greek General came up out of Syria, swept down into Israel and also invaded and conquered Egypt. This was another conflict between a king of the North with a King of the South.
Most evangelical Bible Prophecy scholars know that Antiochus Epiphanies is a major type of the man of sin in the Bible and what he did in Israel teaches us about what the man of sin will do in the last days at the end of this present age. When speaking about the abomination of desolation the Lord Jesus had Antiochus in mind whose name meant “god manifest.” In Matthew Chapter 24 the Lord Jesus spoke about what Antiochus did 160 years before defiling the Temple in Jerusalem and said it would happen again in the future.
It did happen in 70AD when the Arab Auxiliaries of the Roman army, after they had destroyed the Temple by fire, erected emblems to Zeus on the ruins of the Temple Mount and worshipped them. This was another abomination of desolation. If you read Matthew Chapter 24 carefully it is very clear the Lord Jesus also telescoped to the end of the age when the man of sin would appear and commit the ultimate abomination of desolation in the Temple (Matthew 24:15). This man of sin will exhibit all the character traits that marked Antiochus.
So with these things in view, earlier this week we have seen Erdogan of Turkey seeking to “mend the broken fences” with al-Sisi of Egypt. It would seem Taqiyah * is ‘the name of the game’ for the man from Turkey. Another war is coming between the King of the North with the King of the South. The man of sin will come up out of Syria leading a huge Islamic army like nothing that has been seen before in history or will ever be seen again in this present age. (Joel 2:2b) The prophet Joel describes them as ‘locusts.’ This demonically empowered army will invade Israel, take Egypt and plunder it, subdue Libya and Sudan (the Nubians) and fight against the mightiest of fortresses. (Daniel 11:39)
President Erdogan’s approach to Egypt is just another “conquest” in his deep mind for the advance of a resurrected Turkish Ottoman Empire, the “beast empire with a head wounded by the sword, but its fatal wound has been healed” and is rising again in the second beast empire. The first beast empire arises out of the sea of tossing humanity and John was most likely looking out over the Mediterranean Sea. (Revelation 13: 1)
The 2020–2021 Eastern Mediterranean crisis saw an intensification of military tensions between Turkey, Greece and their allies in the East Mediterranean Sea. Tensions rose following Turkey’s exploration operations in a disputed area in the Mediterranean. This is no coincidence as Turkey sees huge financial gain in the Eastern Mediterranean.
We also need to keep in mind that possibly Erdogan sees himself as one in the same character as that of Dragut known as “The Drawn Sword of Islam” who was a Muslim Ottoman naval commander, governor, and noble, of Turkish or Greek descent. Under his command, the Ottoman Empire’s maritime power was extended across North Africa. Recognized for his military genius, and as being among “the most dangerous” of corsairs, Dragut has been referred to as “the greatest pirate warrior of all time”, “undoubtedly the most able of all the Turkish leaders”, and “the uncrowned king of the Mediterranean”. He served under the caliphate of Suleiman the Magnificent when the Turkish Ottoman Empire was at the zenith of its power.
Now we are also told in Revelation Chapter 13 that the second beast empire comes up out of the earth or the land. (Revelation 13:11) This is a resurrection of the first beast empire after it had received its deadly wound. Historically it was the Turkish Ottoman Empire that toppled Ancient Rome and ruled throughout the Middle-East and into parts of Europe for about 600 years. The Turkish Ottoman Empire received a seemingly ‘fatal’ wound when the allied forces under General Allenby defeated the Turkish Empire and recaptured Jerusalem at the end of WW1. Kemal Atatürk, who came to power in Turkey in 1923, dismantled the Caliphate and the Ottoman Empire on 3 March 1924. Today things have changed in Turkey.
Turkey now have a man committed to the resurrection of the Turkish Ottoman Empire with an agenda to conquer Israel, the Middle East and the whole of Europe if he can for the cause of Islam and establish a resurrected caliphate with himself as the supreme caliph of the Islamic world. His ambition is to have the greatest of all the Turkish Ottoman Empires from the past. His seeming ‘alliance’ with Egypt is just part of the bigger picture he has in view, a hidden agenda for the conquest of Egypt and many other nations. (Daniel 11:40b)
Ultimately, we will see this resurrected Turkish Ottoman Empire empowered by Satan himself and a ruler, who, by Satan’s power, will primarily challenge the western democracies. His creed will be aligned with that of the Muslim Brotherhood, his goal will be to destroy Israel and by extension and inclusion the engrafted faithful Body of the Messiah (the faithful Church). So then we are told in the Book of Daniel that Egypt will not escape his power. (Daniel 11:42) He will be exceedingly successful only until the time of wrath destined by God to take place is completed, and then this man of sin will come to his end at Jerusalem with no one to help him! (Daniel 11:36, 45)
