(Isaiah 30:1-5) “Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin; Who proceed down to Egypt Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! “Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation. “For their princes are at Zoan And their ambassadors arrive at Hanes. “Everyone will be ashamed because of a people who cannot profit them, Who are not for help or profit, but for shame and also for reproach.”

According to a report in Israel Unwired Online earlier this week it stated; “With all the talk of peace between the UAE and Israel, the riots in Jerusalem have put a wrinkle in the budding relationship between the two countries. The Ramadan riots that have exploded in Jerusalem and other places in Israel have continued to degrade Israel’s sovereignty in areas that have up until now been considered party of sovereign Israel. However, the goal of the Ramadan riots is to stoke regional feelings when it comes to places like Jerusalem. This is in order to put a wedge between the UAE, Bahrain, and Jerusalem.”

God spoke through the prophet Isaiah to the people of Israel about trusting in Egypt for security against Israel’s enemies instead of looking to the Lord. God called them rebellious children who were executing a plan that was not from Him. They were making an alliance that was not of the Holy Spirit. God called it adding sin to sin. Israel’s political and religious leaders had approached Egypt for an alliance without consulting the Lord about what they had decided to do. Israel thought that they would be safe by seeking refuge in the so called ‘safety’ of Egypt and to seek shelter from them. In the Bible Egypt is a metaphor for the world and Pharaoh a type of the god of this world and its overlord Satan, and by extension, a type of the man of sin.

When the Abraham Accords were brokered under the Trump Administration Israel’s leaders and the Arab League States thought that they were on ‘a good thing’ as the Arab League nations were scared of Iran’s growing aggressive behaviour in the Middle-Eastern region and especially in light of Iran’s Uranium enrichment programme heading towards a nuclear device. However, it seems the alliance Israel has made is turning sour especially as we have seen the Saudis shaking hands, as it were, with the Iranian regime. Now it seems Israel’s so called major Arab ‘ally’ the United Arab Emirates is turning their backs on Israel and facing towards Iran. As for the Saudis they will just sit on the sidelines and scoff at the Jewish people when the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel happens. (Ezekiel 38:13) However, the Saudis will not escape the fiery judgement that God will unleash on them because of their attitude towards His people that will see the underground oil reserves of Saudi Arabia burn out of control. (Isaiah 34:8-9)

With Biden in the White House it is clear that he does not really support Israel at all. The fact that he wants to go ahead with the re-establishment of the Iranian nuclear deal clearly defines his rather ‘cavalier’ attitude to the Jewish nation. With the riots now rampaging in Jerusalem and the Israeli leadership still not settled the people of Israel are now in another  serious crisis. Hezbollah is stirring and Gaza has ‘upped the ante’ on sending rockets into Israel which more than likely will lead to a war between Hamas and Israel in Gaza once again. Iran is also moving closer to having nuclear capability and getting ready to really hit Israel hard with missiles if they can. Humanly speaking a combined missile and rocket attack may well find the Israeli Iron Dome not capable of intercepting them all.

Of course we need to keep in mind that no matter how hard Israel is hit that God will see to it that the nation survives. He always remembers His covenant forever He has made with the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, being His people Israel and by extension and inclusion the engrafted faithful Church. (Psalm 105:8) (Romans 11:15-18) (Ephesians 2:11-22)

In the time when Isaiah prophesied the nation of Israel were under threat from their enemies and in making an alliance with Egypt saw Egyptian Ambassadors visiting the leaders in Israel but not to work on the alliance as such, but to see what they could get from the Israelites and whether the Israelites were really worth supporting. In the end these ‘diplomats’ despised the Jewish people and saw no real profit in even supporting them.

According to a report in yesterday’s edition of Israel unwired Online it stated; “Former Secretary of State John Kerry is now being accused of sharing important security information pertaining to Israel with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. It was no secret that both Kerry and Zarif built a strong personal relationship during the nuclear negotiations of 2015. However bad the nuclear agreement was, if the accusation that Kerry shared vital information to Iran, it is beyond reprehensible. The reaction has been swift and unforgiving.

“If this tape is verified, it would signal catastrophic and disqualifying recklessness by Envoy Kerry to Foreign Minister Zarif that endangered the safety of Americans and our allies,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said in a statement to The Daily Wire. “And it would be consistent with his long pattern of empowering Iran’s regime. Kerry poured hundreds of billions of dollars into the Ayatollah’s terrorist bank accounts, was a close confidant with Zarif during the Obama administration, and was caught repeatedly meeting with him during the Trump administration and has never publicly accounted for what they discussed.”

Elise Stafanik (R-NY): “his (Kerry) is a criminal act and John Kerry must be immediately investigated and prosecuted. President Biden must immediately remove John Kerry from any government or advisory position.” Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley: “This is disgusting on many levels. Biden and Kerry have to answer for why Kerry would be tipping off Iran, the number one sponsor of terror, while stabbing one of our greatest partners, Israel, in the back.”

God is trying to get Israel’s attention and using applied pressure to get His people Israel to turn back to Him. During Israel’s long and troubled history the Lord sent prophet after prophet who reinforced the Torah which taught blessings for obedience but curses for disobedience. (Deuteronomy Chapter 28) After all of the prophets had been sent the Lord Himself, the invisible God, revealed Himself visibly in His one and only begotten and eternal Son, but Israel rejected Him.

There is no doubt that Israel has been restored as a nation after more than 2,000 years of exile but it is a partial national restoration and their spiritual restoration is yet to come, but it will be a remnant that will survive what is coming upon the nation. (Zechariah 13:8-9) Already we see Israel being “storm tossed and afflicted and not comforted” by their enemies on all sides and betrayed by the nations in the Egypt of this world who at the last will abandon Israel to their enemies.  In that day Israel’s only friends and allies will be those born again, blood washed, Bible believing, Spirit filled believers, who know God’s prophetic end-time plan for Israel and who see Israel as God’s prophetic time clock for the nations. In days to come the status of Israel will be a matter that will divide wider Christendom. Already it is a fissure but it will become a chasm just before the Messiah our Lord Jesus comes back.

Even within wider Christendom today multitudes of so called ‘Christians’ are all for replacement theology, and for supporting the so called liberation of ‘Palestine,’ a name given to Israel by the Romans. Right throughout the whole Bible Israel is never called by any other name other than Israel, a name the nation was given by God through the Patriarch Jacob when he wrestled through the long night with the Messiah until the break of the next day. (Genesis 33:22-30) This encounter between Jacob with his Messiah was foreshadowing the Messiah wrestling with Israel spiritually during the night of the Time of Jacob’s trouble in the last three and a half years of this present age bringing the surviving Israelis (Israelites) into their full inheritance spiritually and nationally. In that day “All Israel will be saved!” because “God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable!” (Romans 11:26,29)

After Israel has passed through the refining furnace of God’s chastening, because of His love and His desire for their holiness and reconciliation with Himself, He will bring His chosen remnant to the foot of that old rugged cross where the Messiah has shed His blood to atone for their sins. In that day we are told that His people will look on the one they have pierced and will mourn for Him and grieve bitterly for Him and weep tears of repentance and joy. (Zechariah 12:11-14) In that day Israel will be “the head and not the tail!” (Deuteronomy 28:13)

As the prophet Zechariah declares; “And many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of Hosts in Jerusalem and to plead before the LORD.” This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue will tightly grasp the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” (Zechariah 8:22-23)
