(Zechariah 12:1-3) “A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.”
Yesterday in the Israel TV7 News online it was reported that Turkey and Iran will champion the cause against President Trump’s Deal of the Century. In Ankara President Erdogan declared that Turkey will never accept a plan that leaves Jerusalem in the hands of Israel. He stated; “The plan (the Deal of the Century) aims at the annexation of occupied Palestinian territories. As Turkey we will never recognize or accept this plan. Leaving Jerusalem entirely in Israel’s bloody claws is to be the greatest evil not only for Muslims and Christians living there but also to all humanity.”
Then when addressing his own Islamist AK Party he said; “Now they are calling it as the deal of the century. I will mention it in my speech tomorrow, deal of the century! What deal are you talking about? This is not a deal, it is an invasion project.”
The news report also showed Iran’s top advisor to their supreme leader stressing Iran’s unequivocal support for the Palestinian cause which the Ayatollah regime declares to be the top priority of the Islamic world. He stated; “Iran will not stay silent that’s for sure. The Iranian leadership and the Iranian people see the issue of Palestine as the top priority of the Muslim world and will further implement it with other Palestinian supporting Arab countries to the best of our ability.”
There is no doubt that Turkey, Iran and other Palestinians supporting Arab nations want to see the Jewish people out of Israel and Jerusalem the capital of Palestine. As far as Turkey, Iran and the other militant Anti-Israel Arab nations are thinking the Jews have no right to be in Israel. However God thinks differently!
The prophet Zechariah tells us that in the last days Jerusalem will become the focal point of the nations of the world. This is what is happening today! God is going to make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the nations surrounding Israel and hell-bent on taking control of Jerusalem. God says that all who seek to remove Jerusalem from its place as the City where God has placed His name forever will bitterly regret what they have done. The Hebrew actually says they will be “ripped or torn apart!” It does not pay to mess with God’s people!
We know from scripture that Turkey will lead the invasion force against Israel and Jerusalem accompanied by Iran, Libya and Sudan and other Islamic nations. (Ezekiel 38:1-6) Even though the invasion will see Jerusalem captured the LORD will go out to fight those nations that have surrounded Jerusalem. (Zechariah 14:1-3)
The armies of Turkey, Iran, Libya, the Sudan, the Turkic speaking Islamic states of southern Russia and most likely Pakistan and other Arab nations surrounding Israel, will fall on the mountains of Israel. In that day “the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem so that the feeblest among them (the Jews) will be like David , and the House of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them. On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:8-9)
Let Erdogan rant and rave against Israel, let the Iranian Ayatollahs breath out threats of retribution towards God’s chosen people, let the nations rage and roar against Israel but look out when the Lion of the Tribe of Judah roars! In that day Israel will be rescued and Jerusalem secured!
As Isaiah the prophet writes; “For this is what the LORD has said to me: “Like a lion roaring or a young lion over its prey—and though a band of shepherds is called out against it, it is not terrified by their shouting or subdued by their clamour—so the LORD of Hosts will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and its heights. Like birds hovering overhead, so the LORD of Hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will shield it and deliver it; He will pass over it and preserve it.” (Isaiah 31:4-5)
