“I will Bring Strangers upon you, The Most Ruthless of the Nations.”

The US Embassy

In the latest edition of “Israel Today” online 30.11.2017 a headline read; “Pence Confirms Trump Still Planning to Move US Embassy to Jerusalem.” This was a very encouraging video for Israel at this time. The article went on to say; “US Vice President Mike Pence reaffirmed on Tuesday that the Trump Administration will always stand with Israel, and does indeed still intend to relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem, a move that would significantly bolster Israel’s claim to the entirety of the Holy City.

Pence was speaking at an event marking the 70th anniversary of the historic vote by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize a Jewish state in this region. The vote also recognized an adjacent Arab state, but the Arab world rejected the vote and declared war on the nascent Jewish state. The land earmarked for that new Arab state was instead conquered and annexed by Jordan. Pence, a Bible-believing Christian, told the gathering that while the UN vote is worth remembering, “Israel didn’t need a resolution to call for its existence, because its right to exist is self-evident, and timeless.”

He continued: “While Israel was built by human hands, it’s impossible not to see the hand of heaven here too. The horrors of the Holocaust reminded the world that the safety and security of the Jewish people could not be assured without an independent state. Israel is a testament to the unbreakable spirit of the Jewish people. “Regarding the embassy move, Pence urged Israelis to be patient, but not to worry. Trump repeatedly vowed in the strongest possible terms during the election campaign that he would be the president to finally fulfil the American promise to move the US Embassy to Israel’s actual capital city. Many Israelis have expressed frustration that nearly a year into Trump’s presidency, the move still hasn’t happened. “President Donald Trump is actively considering when and how to move the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” Pence sought to reassure them.”

The Most Ruthless of the Nations

Hopefully President Trump backs his words with his actions. It would seem that not all of the nations will forsake Israel. Watching this video reminded me of the scriptures relating to certain nations that God will raise up in the last days to fight Antichrist and his forces. While Israel will have been suffering under the heel of Antichrist for three and a half years, the LORD, for the sake of His elect saints (Jew and Gentile in the Messiah) will intervene to save His ancient people Israel. (Jeremiah 30:1-7) (Matthew 24:21-22) Even during this “time, times and half a time” God will be resisting Antichrist through raising up certain nations and their armies against him and his forces. In the prophet Ezekiel we read what God Himself says to the Antichrist (indwelt by Satan)…

“Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God, Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon you, The most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And defile your splendour. ‘They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the death of those who are slain In the heart of the seas. ‘Will you still say, “I am a god,” In the presence of your slayer, Though you are a man and not God, In the hands of those who wound you? ‘You will die the death of the uncircumcised By the hand of strangers, For I have spoken!’ declares the Lord God!”’”  (Ezekiel 28:6-10)

At His Command

At the Command of the Lord Jesus, and by the breath of his mouth (2 Thessalonians 2:8), these armies will go forth to destroy the Antichrist. These will be those nations that “will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword” (Micah 5:6) The One who will bring the ultimate victory will be the Messiah Himself (Micah 5:7) The faithful remnant of Israel will also be in this battle. (Micah 5:7-9) The glorified saints will also be there. (Revelation 19:7-8, 14) The armies (angels) of heaven will also be there at that final battle. (2 Thessalonians 1:7)

The ‘Sheep’ and ‘Goat’ Nations

The ‘sheep’ and the ‘goat nations’ will be separated by the Lord Jesus after He has come back. Those nations that defended His brethren the Israelites (Israelis) will go into eternal life. Those nations that did not defend Israel (Israelis), Jesus’ brethren, will go into the pit (Sheol-hades-hell) Nations will actually go into the pit. (Ezekiel 26:20; 32:18) After these events the Millennial Kingdom will commence! We have yet to see President Trump make good his promises to relocate the US Embassy in Jerusalem, however, if in God’s prophetic plan America is one of those nations destined “to rule the land of Nimrod with the sword” we will see America and other nations arise up to fight Antichrist and to side with Israel against her sworn enemies. When He returns the Messiah will take the fight to Islam! (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Ezekiel 25:13-14) (Amos 1:11-15)
