Things are really heating up in the Middle-east as Israel is taking very seriously Iran’s threat to initiate an all-out war with Israel hell-bent on the annihilation of the Jewish state. According to a report in the online edition of Israel earlier this week it stated; “The Israeli security cabinet met for the first time in two months on Sunday for an emergency meeting on the increasing Iranian threat to the Jewish state. The meeting took place after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a speech for the newly inaugurated Knesset, warned that Israel is facing a “huge security challenge” that is increasing every week. The caretaker PM added that his words should be taken seriously and that he did not just want to scare the public and the media out of political considerations. Netanyahu then made it clear he was talking about the Iranian threat to Israel and recalled the recent threats against Israel by members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).“Anyone who knows the situation knows that Iran is getting stronger and is attacking around the world, saying clearly, ‘Israel will disappear’,” the Prime Minister said.”
While Israel has a very effective missile destroying system it does not have sufficient capabilities of destroying a missile attack on mass. While the rest of the world looks on, while rhetoric and division continues in Congress, and while the EU still insist in maintaining the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran and Macron of France has pledged a $150 billon dollar ‘bailout’ for Iran, Israel continues to stand alone. But are they alone? Now, since the US has withdrawn its forces from Northern Syria the Turkish forces have started their military campaign in earnest in Northern Syria to massacre the Kurds if they can. If this happens will the United States and the United Nations take any action against Turkey? We know from scripture that the King of the North will attack the mightiest fortresses and will also be attacked. (Daniel 11:38-45) Will the man from Turkey be held culpable by the United nations for the genocide he will perpetrate against the Kurds? Will it be another massacre in the same vein as the Arminian genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks, a genocide President Erdogan does not like mentioned?
After the man from Turkey has had his way in Northern Syria he will attempt to invade Israel at the Golan Heights. Before this happens he may have to eliminate the Assad regime as there can only be one caliph and supreme ruler of the Muslim world. Undoubtedly Erdogan has his sights set on resurrecting and establishing the Turkish Ottoman caliphate with its headquarters at Jerusalem. (Daniel 11:45) No guesses for who he has in mind for the top job!
Humanly speaking things are looking blacker by the minute for tiny Israel and tragically many want to see Israel dismantled piece by piece, not only by those in the world but by many within wider Christendom. Surrounded on all sides by demonically controlled Islamic nations it looks like Israel may not survive, but they will survive! God still has everything under control. Has God forsaken Israel? Does He not say concerning His covenant people; “Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day, who orders the moon and stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—the LORD of Hosts is His name: “Only if this fixed order departed from My presence, declares the LORD, would Israel’s descendants ever cease to be a nation before Me.” This is what the LORD says: “Only if the heavens above could be measured and the foundations of the earth below searched out, would I reject all of Israel’s descendants because of all they have done,” declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 31:35-37)
What about the immediate Iranian threat to Israel? It is moving to the next level rapidly. In Daniel chapter 10:20-21 the Messiah, the eternal Word of God Himself (before He became flesh) is speaking to His servant Daniel and tells him about the war between Israel and Iran in the latter days. (10:14) The Messiah had heard Daniel’s prayer but the principality (demonic spirit) over Persia (Iran) had tried to prevent the answer from the LORD to His servant Daniel. (10:13) The Messiah reassures Daniel that He (the Messiah) will go to fight the prince over Persia (Iran) (10:20) and that following this situation the Prince of Greece or Grecia (Hebrew-“Yavan”-“Ionia”-Turkey) (10:20) will attack Israel. Ionia was part of Alexander the Great’s Middle-eastern Empire and today it is modern day Turkey.
In this future war the Messiah reveals to Daniel He also tells Daniel that Michael will be supporting Him (the Messiah) in the war against both Iran and Turkey in the latter days. (10:21) Israel is to pass through the time of Great Tribulation also called the Time of Jacob’s Trouble but will be saved out of it (Jeremiah 30:1-10) Michael is the great prince who watches over and protects Israel from being wiped out during this time of great tribulation. (Daniel 12:1-2) It is the same time period of tribulation mentioned by the Lord Jesus (Matthew 24:21-22) For the sake of God’s elect and persecuted people, being Israel and by extension and inclusion the faithful Church, God will cut those days of tribulation short ( a swift and decisive cut with the swipe of a blade).
At this time the Lord Jesus will return to earth to put everything right and turn everything right side up! “It will be a time of trouble for Jacob (Israel) and for the faithful Church and for the world at large but Israel and the faithful Church will be saved out of it!” (Jeremiah 30:7b) (Matthew 24:29-31) We have the Messiah’s personal guarantee on that score! What does the Psalmist say; “Come, see the works of the LORD, who brings devastation upon the earth. He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields in the fire. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.” (Psalm 46:8-10)
