Guess Who’s The Target

The Broken Bow of Elam

The LORD spoke through Jeremiah the prophet concerning Iran in the latter days; “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Behold, I am going to break the bow of Elam, The finest of their might” (Jeremiah 49:35). According to Israel Today online March 7th a headline read; “Iran Says It Has Tripled Production of Missiles. Guess Who’s the Target.” The article went on to say; “There can be only one real target. While Iran has many enemies in the Middle East, none but Israel poses any real military obstacle to Tehran’s dreams of hegemony (dominance). With that in mind, Iran’s government-controlled Fars news agency reported on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic has tripled its production of missiles. A top officer in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards suggested that former US President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran had enabled this increase by removing strict international oversight of Iranian military activity. “In the past we had to do a lot of explaining to various bodies for our actions, but it’s not like that anymore,” said Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh. Iran has missile capable of striking Israel on the other side of the region. But far more dangerous is Iran’s effort to establish missile bases in neighbouring Syria. With this increased missile production and a firm military foothold in Israel’s war-torn neighbour, the Iranian threat to the Jewish state has grown exponentially.”

The Elamites

The Elamites (Elam today is Iran) were warlike people and expert archers, according to Isaiah 22:6. Jeremiah predicts that Iran will suffer the fate of a broken bow, which might imply that the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) will be unable to launch scores of its missiles (arrows) at its enemies. Additionally, God declares that Iran will be struck at the foremost place of its might, which today could infer an attack upon its nuclear program.

The Bushehr Nuclear Reactor

One of Iran’s most strategic and vulnerable nuclear targets is the Bushehr nuclear reactor, located in the heart of ancient Elam (Iran). The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, Iran’s sole Nuclear reactor, is a nuclear power plant in Iran 17 kilometres southeast of the city of Bushehr, between the fishing villages of Halileh and Bandargeh along the Persian Gulf. Back in November 2014 Iran and Russia signed an agreement to build two new nuclear reactors at the Bushehr site, with an option of six more at other sites later. Construction formally started last year on 14 March 2017.

Into the Lion’s Den

While Iran builds up its missile capability and establishes missile bases in Syria the regime may be in for a very rude shock if Israel launches a pre-emptive strike at Iran’s nuclear reactor at Bushehr and the missile silos in Syria. This would paralyse Iranian militancy. The fallout and collateral damage would be horrendous for Iran and make the other nations very wary about attacking Israel. You cannot put your hand into the lion’s den and harm the cubs without having to deal with the lion. In the last days the Lion of the Tribe of Judah will roar from Zion and Iran will know that the LORD is GOD and that it does not pay to mess with His people.

Taking the fight to Iran

As the Messiah spoke to the prophet Daniel; “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia (Iran) was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future…” “But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia (Iran).” (Daniel 10:13-14, 20) This is a fight Iran cannot win! The Messiah will take the fight to Iran.

The LORD will Shield Jerusalem

The prophet Isaiah put it this way; “For thus says the LORD to me, “As the lion or the young lion growls over his prey, Against which a band of shepherds is called out, And he will not be terrified at their voice nor disturbed at their noise, So will the LORD of hosts come down to wage war on Mount Zion and on its hill.” Like flying birds so the LORD of hosts will protect (shield) Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it; He will pass over and rescue it. Return to Him from whom you have deeply defected, O sons of Israel. (Isaiah 31:4-6).

God is watching over Israel

Israel is still far away from the LORD and even though they defeat Iran they must turn back to the LORD their God. Iran will not go away, they will be knocked down hard but not out for the count but return with the Ezekiel 38 invasion force and on the mountains of Israel Iranian armies will be destroyed forever and go down into the pit of Hades. For His name’s sake God is watching over Israel (Ezekiel 36:22-23) and when they have their final reunion with their Messiah our Lord Jesus the weeping and joy will be great in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Israel. (Zechariah 12:10-14)

Possessing their Possesions

Israel will ultimately “possess their possessions” and “In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the Lord’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holiness to the Lord of hosts. Everyone who sacrifices shall come and take them and cook in them. In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 14:20-21) God always finishes what He starts!

The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable! (Romans 11:29)
