According to The Telegraph online publication two days ago it stated; “The Lebanese army opened fire on Israeli surveillance drones over southern Lebanon on Wednesday night, raising the stakes in the conflict between the warring neighbours. The military, which does not possess air defence systems, fired shots from M16s assault rifles at low-flying Israeli drones over the village of al-Adaisseh, near their shared border. Israel regularly flies unmanned surveillance planes into Lebanese airspace, but it is rare for the Lebanese army to attempt to down them.
It appeared to be making good on a promise to protect its sovereignty after an Israel drone strike on Hezbollah territory in the capital Beirut over the weekend. Michel Aoun, Lebanon’s president, whose Christian Free Patriotic Movement party is allied with Hezbollah, on Tuesday stressed its right to defend the country “by any means”. Two crates reportedly belonging to Hezbollah containing critical technical machinery were destroyed in a drone strike attributed to Israel in Beirut on August 25. As well as having a military wing, Hezbollah is represented in parliament and has become an increasingly powerful force in the Mediterranean country.
The group had already warned that it was preparing its own “calculated strike” against Israel in retaliation for its raid on a Hezbollah position near the Syrian city of Damascus on Saturday that left two fighters dead and a drone attack in southern Beirut hours later that reportedly damaged missile-making equipment.”
There is no doubt that Hezbollah rules in Lebanon. It is a fact that Hezbollah is Iran’s proxy in its militancy against Israel. According to the AFP Online earlier this week part of an article read; “Hezbollah, considered a terrorist organisation by Israel and the United States, is a major political actor in Lebanon and a key government backer in war-torn Syria. The Shiite movement and Israel, which have fought several wars, have upped their belligerent rhetoric in recent months.
The predawn incident in Beirut came just hours after Israel said it had launched strikes in neighbouring Syria to prevent an Iranian attack on the Jewish state. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said the strike had killed two Hezbollah members. In a televised speech broadcast to thousands of supporters, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said the attack on a target in Beirut’s south was the first such “hostile action” since the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel.”
God Himself has spoken concerning the future of Hezbollah and its leaders backed by the Lebanese government… “See, the Lord, the LORD Almighty, will lop off the boughs with great power. The lofty trees will be felled, the tall ones will be brought low. He will cut down the forest thickets with an axe; Lebanon will fall before the Mighty One.” (Isaiah 10:33-34)
According to a Genetic study undertaken in 2017 by the Sanger Institute scientists and published on July 27 2017 in the American Journal of Human Genetics, the report suggests that the present-day Lebanese are direct descendants of the ancient Canaanites. The Canaanites were Israel’s implacable enemies and were to be destroyed when the Israelites entered the land of Cannan. The Canaanites were a wicked culture that practiced idolatry, violence, sexual deviancy of all kinds and demonic practices including child sacrifices to idols which, according to the Torah and the New Testament, is sacrifing to demons.
Lebanon was to be part of Israel’s inheritance and was part of it during the reign of King Solomon and King David. Today over 3,000 years later things have changed and the same principality or territorial spirit that presided over the Ancient Canaanites once more presides over the leaders of Lebanon. This is why Israel must retain its control of the Golan Heights. Once again we see Israel’s enemies threatening an all-out war with Israel over the latest incident concerning the drones. This virolent militancy of course is nothing new. Earlier this year the Israelis discovered Hezbollah tunnels that had been dug underground from Lebanon into Israeli territory.
Now the “boughs” to be “lopped off” and “the lofty trees to be “felled” are those leaders in Lebanon who engineer attacks upon Israel. Their power will be broken by the power of God! They are seen by the LORD as “the lofty ones” or “those who are proud and arrogant” and as ones “who elevate themselves” above Israel and above the God of Israel. They are “the tall ones,” those generals and military officers who govern and lead Hezbollah backed by Iran.
For years Iran has been fighting a proxy war against Israel through Hezbollah and undoubtedly financing it as well. God is not only going to lay His axe of retribution to the leaders of Lebanon and its Generals but He is also going to “cut down the forest thickets with the axe” These “forest thickets” are the soldiers of Hezbollah that are as numerous as a thick forest. Lebanon was known in Biblical times for its thick forests. According to the Word of the LORD Hezbollah and its leaders and soldiers “will fall before the mighty One.”
As the Psalmist writes, “Come, see the works of the LORD, who brings devastation upon the earth. He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; (missiles) He burns the shields in the fire. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted over the earth.” The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” (Psalm 46:8-11)
May the words of this psalm become the testimony of Israel’s leaders so that they might experience God’s deliverance from Hezbollah and the pricipality that drives these terrorists on in their psychotic endeavours. It has been said, “Man proposes but God disposes!” Make no mistake, God will have the last word on Lebanon!
