Because the Time is Near

The man from Turkey has lashed out again and this time his ‘salvos’ were aimed at the Greek Government accusing Greece of ‘Nazi Tortures’ on refugees. On Wednesday this week in Turkey he told the members of his AK Party and had it broadcast over the Turkish media that the Greek security forces were behaving like Nazis for using force against migrants and refugees trying to cross the border from Turkey into Greece. Of course his rhetoric was picked up by news agencies around the globe. The Greek security forces had to use tear gas and water cannon to stop people from entering. Athens has suspended asylum applications for a month and said it prevented more than 42,000 people illegally entering the EU over the past two weeks.

In the Turkish parliament, Erdogan showed legislators of his ruling AK Party video footage of scenes at the Greek border. “There is no difference between those images on the Greek border and what the Nazis did,” he said. “Opening fire on innocent people, exposing them to all kinds of inhumane treatmentit is barbarism in the full sense of the word,” he said, repeating his call on Greece to let people cross its territory to reach richer Western European countries. “Why are you obstructing them so much and carrying out Nazi tortures on them?” he added.

According to the Jewish News Syndicate Online yesterday it reported that back in early 2005 in Turkey Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” was the fourth best-selling book in the country, selling 50,000 copies. It is now available not only in bookstores but at venues such as Migros, the country’s fourth-largest supermarket chain, with more than 1,800 locations. There are many character traits exhibited by this man that mirror Adolph Hitler who ultimately grabbed supreme power in Germany and exterminated or imprisoned all opposition to his autocratic system of government.

Some years ago I was watching a documentary on Nazi Germany. There was an interview with an aged German who was at the time a very young boy and a member of the Nazi Youth Movement. He said that one day he was in the front row of the crowd watching Adolph Hitler standing in a car moving at a very slow pace and saluting and looking at the crowds lining the streets. The man relating the story said that when Hitler fixed his eyes on him he said a power came out of Hitler that mesmerised him and after that he became an ardent Nazi in the Hitler Youth Movement.

Adolph Hitler was a failed artist who arose out of obscurity but made a name for himself as he sought to climb the ladder of German politics. He was resisted on all fronts at first and Europe was also suspicious of him but gradually he gained a foothold in the German government which was not strong. He even did some jail time at one stage because of his autocratic ideology of government. Mein Kampf (My Struggle), an anti-Semitic tirade, was the book written by Adolf Hitler and Rudolf Hess. Rudolf Hess helped Hitler write the book, but he is not mentioned as an author. The book consists of two parts. The first part was written by Hitler while he was in jail. Who would have thought a man like him would gain the power that he did?

In 1988 the man from Turkey also did some jail time where he served four months in prison for inciting religious hatred after reciting a controversial poem. In 1997, as mayor of Istanbul at a rally in the city of Siirt Erdogan loosely referenced that poem by the Turkish nationalist Ziya Gokalp: “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the believers our soldiers.” Erdogan had included these lines in past speeches. But this time they provoked Turkey’s secular military leaders and civilian elite, who had just forced the country’s first Islamist prime minister from power and who viewed Istanbul’s popular, Islamist-leaning mayor as a threat.

Today President Erdogan is fully committed to the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. The movement’s self-stated aim is the establishment of a state ruled by Sharia law with its most famous slogan worldwide being: “Islam is the solution.” While Adolph Hitler’s rise to power was hindered in many ways by the international community and even by his political opponents in Germany it is clear that at some time a very powerful principality possessed the man.  By this supernatural power the whole world was shaken to its very core when Hitler kick started WW II. Hitler’s penetrating look at that young boy instantly transformed that boy into a follower willing to lay down his life for his Fuehrer.

If the Man from Turkey is the man of sin then a time will come when a power will possess him. Millions of young Jihad minded Muslims will rally to his cause and possibly he will be the one to kick start WW III? If this happens it will not be a principality but the price of all principalities that will be controlling him. If this happens then the whole world will reel and totter in a ‘drunken stupor’ at this man’s influence and power over millions. At the end only the power of the Lord Jesus will put an end to him and to his Islamic empire. (Daniel 2:32-35; 39-45; 7:7-12, 15-27)

For the sake of his elect saints and for the survival of the world our Lord Jesus will come again to rule and to reign over the surviving nations and that with a rod of iron. (Psalm 2:8-9) We who belong to the Lord Jesus and have overcome Satan and all of his works will co-reign on earth with our Lord Jesus in His Messianic glory! (Revelation 2:26-28) After all we know how things will end because we have read the back of the Book.” (The Book of Revelation) As the beloved Apostle John writes; “Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” (Revelation 1:3)
