This is no drill?
Last week in a news report online a headline appeared which read; “Israeli Schools Drill for Missile Attack Amid Threats From Iran.“ The article went on to say; “Elementary schools across Israel held emergency missile attack drills this week, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu engaged in a frightening war of words with Iran. Speaking Sunday at the Munich Security Conference, Netanyahu denounced Iran for probing Israeli defences a week earlier with a drone, a piece of which the Israeli leader held aloft. Israel responded to that incident by bombing Iranian military installations in Syria. Netanyahu warned that future incidents could see Israel take direct military action against Iran. Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Expediency Council and former chief of the country’s Revolutionary Guards, said Netanyahu had spoken foolishly, and invited destruction upon the Jewish state.” About Netanyahu’s unwise words, I should say that if they carry out the slightest unwise move against Iran, we will level Tel Aviv to the ground,” Rezaei told Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television station. Israel’s Homefront Command cautioned that the potential for war between Israel and Iran (possibly via its proxies in Syria and Lebanon) are higher than ever. As part of its preparations for such a scenario, Israeli grade schools held exercises and drills to prepare students for a potential missile attack on the Jewish state. Homefront Command officials were on hand at many schools, as children prepared for the worst. Teachers also gave their students homework aimed at readying them for the likelihood of a regional conflagration.”
The latter days
In the Bible we read about what God said to the prophet Daniel concerning Israel and Iran in the latter days. “Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future.” (Daniel 10:14) Daniel was God’s prophet and the LORD revealed the future to him. In Daniel chapter ten we see that the LORD revealed to Daniel a future war with Iran followed by one with Turkey. For 21 days Daniel had been praying and from the first day God heard him and sent the answer via His messenger (the Messiah before He became flesh). However, we are told that the Messiah was hindered in answering Daniel’s prayer for 21 days by the prince of Persia, a demonic principality over Iran. The demonic principality was so strong that Michael the Angel of war had to help the Messiah. The ‘kings’ of Persia (Iran) the rulers and the principality behind the throne had hindered the Messiah who was actively engaged in spiritual warfare in the unseen spiritual world just above the surface of the earth. (Daniel 10:13-14) However, Satan cannot stop what God is doing for Israel. When it comes to Israel Iran cannot take God on and win the fight!
A war in the heavens
Right now this battle in the unseen spiritual realm is still going on since the fall of man and Satan is desperately trying to destroy Israel because he knows that God’s prophetic purposes and promises are directly connected to the nation of Israel. Over the long centuries Satan has tried to destroy the Jewish people but has not succeeded and will never succeed. Daniel’s Messiah said to him that after having been resisted by the principality for 21 days that He would now go to actually fight with that principality over Persia (Iran) and after that would come the prince of Greece. In the Hebrew language the word for ‘Greece’ or ‘Grecia’ is ‘Javan’ or ‘Ionia’ which today would be Turkey. Ionia was the eastern leg of Alexander the Great’s Middle-eastern Empire. With the Messiah was Michael the angel of war and together they would fight Iran in the latter days. Iran will not win this fight but will not be completely destroyed but will make a comeback with the Ezekiel 38 invasion force led by the leader of Turkey who also has a demonic principality controlling him. (Daniel 10:.20)
The victory is the LORD’s
As the Israelis prepare for a possible attack by Iran we need to keep in mind that the Messiah our Lord Jesus has already won the victory over Satan and his minions from hell and will see to it that Israel not only survives but will ultimately possess her possessions in His Millennial Kingdom once He has come back. As Obadiah the prophet declares; “But on Mount Zion (in Jerusalem) there will be those who escape, And it will be holy. And the house of Jacob will possess their possessions.” (Obadiah 1:17) The armies of Turkey and Iran and any other armies of the nations that attack Jerusalem will ultimately be destroyed on the mountains of Israel. Ezekiel the prophet clearly speaks about this (Ezekiel 39:4-6) The Antichrist himself will be destroyed by the hand of God. (Daniel 7:26) (Daniel 11:45) After this the saints will inherit the kingdom. (Daniel 7:27)
What will happen to Iran?
As for this end time battle with Iran it is already a foregone conclusion that Iranian regime will be in big trouble having sought to destroy Israel. Ultimately we are told that once the LORD has removed the despotic Iranian regime that He will put His throne in Iran. Iranians in wholesale lots will come to faith in the Messiah! As Jeremiah the prophet declares the Word of the LORD; “So I will shatter Elam (Persia/Iran) before their enemies And before those who seek their lives; And I will bring calamity upon them, Even My fierce anger,’ declares the LORD, ‘And I will send out the sword after them Until I have consumed them. Then I will set My throne in Elam And destroy out of it king and princes,’ Declares the LORD. ‘But it will come about in the last days That I will restore the fortunes of Elam,'” Declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 49:38)
“For ou shield belongs to the LORD”
If Iran launches their Missiles at Israel the LORD will shield his people. As the psalmist writes; “For our shield belongs to the LORD, And our king to the Holy One of Israel.” (Psalm 89:18) At this time Israel’s Messiah our Lord Jesus and Michael will go with him to fight the principality presiding over Iran and win the fight. At the end of this present age when the time of the great trouble comes to an end Michael, the angel of war will arise again to defend Israel against her enemies. The saints will be delivered. As Daniel writes; “Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.” (Daniel 12:1)
