A Warning to Iran!
In yesterday’s edition of “Israel Today” online dated 3.12.2017 a headline read; “Netanyahu Warns Iran After Israel Reportedly Fires Missiles at Syria.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke briefly in a very short video concerning this matter emphasizing the fact they would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons in light of Iran’s threats to destroy Israel. The article accompanying the video went on to say. “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published a stern warning to Iran on Saturday evening, less than 24 hours after at least a dozen Iranian military personnel were killed when their base in Syria was destroyed. Arab media reported over the weekend that the base, said to be an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps installation not far from Damascus, was hit by several Israeli surface-to-surface missiles. The BBC reported just weeks ago that Iran was busy establishing a permanent military presence in Syria, a move that Israel views as an existential threat. According to Syria’s state-run SANA news agency, Israel fired five of its Jericho ballistic missiles at the base. One or more of the missiles were reportedly intercepted by Syrian and/or Russian air defences, but the remainder struck their target, causing tremendous damage. Israeli officials refused to comment on the incident. But the timing of Netanyahu’s video warning strongly suggested that the Arab media reports were at least partially accurate.” It is clear that Iran wants Syria as it would give them more striking capability against Israel and establish the Shiite crescent.
A sword against Iran
The Prophet Jeremiah wrote… “So I (God) will shatter Elam (Iran) before their enemies And before those who seek their lives; And I will bring calamity upon them, Even My fierce anger,’ declares the LORD, ‘And I will send out the sword after them Until I have consumed them. Then I will set My throne in Elam (Iran) And destroy out of it king and princes,’ Declares the LORD. ‘But it will come about in the last days That I will restore the fortunes of Elam (Iran) ,'” Declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 49:37-39)
The Persians
The prophet Daniel foretold of a war that would occur at the end of the age between Israel and Iran. It is found in Daniel Chapter 10: Vss. 1, 13-14, 20) Elam is Persia or today Iran. Historically, the Persians never had an all- out war with Israel but were friendly towards Israel. The Shah of Iran traced his lineage back to Cyrus. The Shah was always friendly towards Israel. As far as their religion the Persians were Zoroastrian, not Islamic and an Arian peoples not a Semitic people. It was only in 1979 when the Ayatollah and His henchmen moved in on Iran and made it an Islamic nation, that it became anti-Semitic.
Israel vs Iran
Daniel chapter ten describes a war between Iran and Israel. It was a fight with ‘the prince (principality) over Persia’ and it concerned the latter days. It would be a war that Israel would win. Michael the Prince would stand side by side with the Messiah to fight these satanic forces in the spiritual realm (Vss. 20-21) (Daniel 12:1) Iran (The Shiite Crescent) will make a comeback in the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel following after Turkey (the Sunni Crescent) and they will advance in a pincer attack on Israel. However, the war Daniel describes in chapter 10 is the war between Iran and Israel. It is not part of the Ezekiel 38 invasion of Israel.
Iran’s fortunes restored
Notice also what the LORD says about Iran in the last days and what He will do in Iran once the Islamic regime has gone… “But it will come about in the last days That I will restore the fortunes of Elam.” As I understand this prophecy the Iranian people left in Iran will become followers of the Lord Jesus the Messiah. He will make Iran part of His Millennial Kingdom at the end of this age when the Millennial Kingdom is inaugurated. Iran’s current Islamic regime and its adherents are all destined to perish on the mountains of Israel but the people in Iran, no longer under Islamic domination, will come to faith in God and in the Messiah our Lord Jesus.
