“And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the freemen and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six” (Revelation 13:16-18).
George Orwell (1903- 1950) a prolific and even prophetic writer who wrote the famous book 1984 said this; “Almost certainly we are moving into the age of totalitarian dictatorship-an age in which freedom of thought will be at first a deadly sin and later on a meaningless abstraction’ The autonomous individual is going to be stamped out of existence.” Referring to his time in Belgrade under Communist rule Lawrence Durrell, an expatriate British novelist, poet, dramatist, and travel writer said, “Reading the book 1984 in a Communist country is really an experience because one can see it all around one;” Italian dictator Benito Mussolini coined the term “totalitario” in the early 1920s to characterize the new fascist state of Italy, which he further described as, “all within the state, none outside the state, none against the state.”
I have just watched an excellent and informative video review of George Orwell’s Book 1984. After that I watched the movie of the book made in the mid-fifties. The video review of George Orwell’s book was a real “eye-opener” to what has happened in the past with Totalitarian government and what is happening today in our world. Whether it was the internment gulags’ of Stalinist Russia or the internment and death camps of Nazi Germany which saw the murder of 6 million Jewish people, it was all the work of totalitarian autocratic despots and their henchmen. Under Stalin’s dictatorship it is estimated that around 20 million Russians were killed by his totalitarian ideology. Mao Zedong in China with his totalitarian regime was responsible for vast numbers of deaths with estimates ranging from 40 to 80 million victims through starvation, persecution, prison labour and mass executions. The same principality behind Mao is at work today in the Chinese Communist Party under the Chairmanship of Xi Jinping, an ardent admirer of Mao Zedong.
When I was watching the movie 1984 with the henchmen dressed in black, with people being mesmerised and indoctrinated to worship Big Brother whose image and voice was seen on television screens, and the rights of individual thought and ideology squashed out of existence, and with personal cameras installed on the walls in the people’s houses, it mirrored what we see today happening in China and in other totalitarian regimes like North Korea where every aspect of people’s daily lives are monitored and governed by despotic and totalitarian rule without any exceptions.
Moving forward to the current situation in the world today, the western democracies, historically connected to the roots of Biblical Judeo- Christianity, because of these roots, have experienced freedom and democracy which has provided freedom of thoughts, opinions and freedom of speech without fear of censure or persecution in the free world. However, it seems that there is an elite group entrenched, primarily deep within the western democracies, that are using this current ‘Pandemic’ as it is so called, to steer the nations into a form of global totalitarian government where people become subservient to a centralised form of power, manipulation and control and where people actually lose their sense of individual identity to embrace a corporate mentality centrally controlled.
In the book 1984 George Orwell actually foresaw people being manipulated by a surveillance system which controlled every aspect of their daily lives. It was a system of lies that destroyed the truth and replaced it with a form of indoctrination which ultimately programmed the mind to accept whatever it was told to embrace. As for the real truth it was replaced with lies and deception. In the movie you saw the image of “Big Brother” in large screens on the side of buildings through which his voice was broadcast to the people who worshipped and praised his image with mindless abandon. This was before artificial intelligence and the technology we have today with our tracking systems and personal electronic ID’s, electronic bank accounts, iPads and mobile phones.
Today people are being programmed through the mainline media, the internet and mobile phone technology to accept whatever they are told. COVID-19 has given the elitists the leverage they need to install into politicians and people alike, fear and apprehension about getting the virus to the point where they are using vaccinations, which are as yet not proven but still experimental and without any data about the long term effects on people’s health. Lockdowns and masks also break down human relationships. Now it needs to be said that the current ‘round’ of vaccinations is not the final mark of the beast system of government but a pre-curser to what is coming when it is realistic to see a form of vaccination that will put under the skin an encrypted microdot of some sort with an ID number with all of one’s personal data and without which no one can buy or sell.
We have two other things mentioned in Revelation Chapter 13. One is the fire falling from heaven in full view of men perpetrated by the Second beast empire. When you see Iran racing to go nuclear and the nuclear arsenal within the major nations today we can see that whoever has the most powerful weapons of mass destruction have supremacy over the nations. We are told in Revelation Chapter 13 that people say, “Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?”
The second thing mentioned is “the image” of the beast empire which has the power of speech. When you look at the internet and the television in people’s living rooms and the huge screens on the side of buildings one can see that George Orwell was onto something he saw in the future where, through a speaking image, people could be programmed to think corporately being exposed to the one and the same image and ideology. The Greek word used for “image” is the word “icon” or “picture.” The icons we see in Greek Orthodox Churches are for them mirrors into the spirit realm or you could say “portals” through which one contacts the unseen spiritual world. This of course is nothing new within pagan religions. The pagan religions down through history in some form or another through their idols have “portals” through which they can contact entities in the unseen spiritual world. Scripture in both Testaments equate the worship of idols with the worship of demons (Deuteronomy 32:16-17) (1 Corinthians 10:20).
It seems clear that the last beast empire and its ruler will use technology to control people within his empire. We see the rapid development of AI (Artificial Intelligence) today and the technology of implanted microchips within the human brain that can control thoughts and feelings and even control the will. Now it is also interesting that from out of the first beast empire the second beast comes into play and establishes the image of the first beast which is given “breath” or life. When you consider television, the internet or virtual reality technology it has the power to bypass the mind and go down into the deep subconscious where after some time it will be expressed in outward actions, hence we see violence and sexual perversion, materialism and every other kind of evil you can think of activated and that by the imagination.
Indeed did not Jeremiah the prophet speak about the perversity of the human heart when he wrote, “The heart is deceptive above all things and desperately wicked, Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) This was the situation in the time of Noah where we are told that “every inclination of the thoughts of men’s hearts was only evil all of the time” (Genesis 6:5), the imagination was involved. It also needs to be said that there is nothing wrong with technology but in the hands of sinful man it can be used for evil purposes. This is why we need the wisdom of God to count the number of the beast system of government which we are told is the number 666. Now in the Greek text it is not referring to a specific man whose name happens to add up to 666 numerically. It can be rendered “it is the number of man (corporately)” in other words a system of government that uses technology to control people’s everyday lives and that operates in opposition to God.
As New Covenant believers we need God’s wisdom to discern and recognise this system of government and population control when it comes so that we will not be deceived into allowing it to control our lives. Now the man of sin in order to be worshipped as God will use this technology within the boundaries of his empire which will be one of global proportions. While we see an elite within the western democracies especially in Europe, England, America and even in Australia working to establish a new world order, or, as it is now called, “The Great Reset,” the time will come when the globalists in the western nations will have to face Islam! This will be God’s judgement on the western democracies because of their wickedness and rebellion against God.
When you look at the second beast empire in Revelation Chapter 13 it is in fact the resurrection of the first beast empire. It has already come to prominence in history and it seemed to have a fatal wound but its wound had been healed and it is resurrected again in the second beast empire which we are told gets its power from the first beast empire (Revelation 13:12). The two beast empires are in reality the one and the same empire. This first beast empire, resurrected in the second beast empire, historically would have to be Islam (See our website study below titled “The Two Beasts of the Apocalypse”)
I just read the other day almost by accident that Turkey is moving into the area of AI (Artificial Intelligence) While it is primarily to do with unmanned drones there is no reason why Turkey’s AI will not spread into other areas of technology with digital ID’s which already exist in Turkey anyway but will lead on to a form of population control where allegiance to Islam will be mandated. Today you see Muslims wearing a headband with the Islamic creed printed on it and an armband around the right arm with Islamic writing on it. The headbands and the armbands clearly identify the wearers with the Beast system of Islam which is in reality a form of government, an ideology, a socio-economic system and a military power of which religion is a component. It is a way of life and a totalitarian ideology perpetrated by the sword.
The time may well come when a very small device will be injected under the skin, not visible to the human eye, but containing a personal ID number, one’s personal and banking details and also containing the creed of Islam. Some time ago now I saw a picture on the internet of Erdogan of Turkey addressing a huge crowd of people and it was a holographic image of him speaking. It was as though he was personally there in the auditorium but he wasn’t there physically but his image was! Muslims are not backward in technology!
Today with virtual reality imaging real life images of anyone can be created through the technology available and is so advanced, and the likeness so life like, that it looks, speaks and acts exactly like a human in every way shape and form. Even in Robotics now they are well advanced in creating life like robots that are capable of interacting with humans. Genetic engineering and cloning is also well underway today. Watching the video review of the Book 1984 and the movie it clearly shows how wicked and unprincipled men and women in positions of power and political prominence can use technology to control the everyday lives of people, their actions, their occupations, their pleasures and pastimes, their words, and track their daily movements.
It is coming to the point, where, through technology, that the final beast empire will be able to control the thoughts, the feelings, the power of the will and sear the conscience for time and for eternity of those, who, of their own will, receive the mark under the skin so that the one who has received it cannot be saved (Revelation 14:9-11). The ones who have taken the outward mark will have already taken it in their heart. They love the world and the things of this world more than they love God. The forehead metaphorically represents the mind and the thoughts and the action of the will. The right arm or hand metaphorically represents the outward actions which express the inner thoughts and motives.
Watching the video review of this book by George Orwell about a society controlled by a totalitarian regime clearly shows the future. When the time comes for the faithful New Covenant believers to stand their ground against this beast system of government, the power of the Holy Spirit will be present in a very real and tangible way to give them the capacity to stand and not to capitulate. This is why it is important that we learn to walk with the Lord and by the enabling power of the Holy Spirit to obey His Word moment by moment of every day and keep trusting our souls to our faithful creator, He who has redeemed us and loves us intensely even though the gates of hell are arrayed against us in every possible way. The wise will understand and instruct many yet some of the wise will be purified through martyrdom (Daniel 11:35).
Satan and his cohorts from Hades will never prevail against us as New Covenant believers or against the revelation we have deep down on the inside of us that the Messiah our Lord Jesus is that Great Rock of Revelation Knowledge and the one upon which the storms created by the adversary are smashed! Through His enabling power when we need it most the Spirit and glory of God will rest upon us when we have to stand against the beast system of government and its ruler (Matthew 16:18) (Luke 21:12-19) (1 Peter 4:12-19).
God’s wisdom is always available to us as New Covenant believers and He will give us the wisdom we need if we ask for it in faith when the time comes to receive it (James 1:5-6). The beast system is coming with its fire power from the heavens, with its image and with its mark, but so is the Lord Jesus the Messiah coming back and when He arrives He will sort everything out and that big time!
