A very real threat
A headline appeared in yesterday’s edition of Israel Today which read; “Israel on Highest Alert as Iran Threatens to Attack.” The article went on to say; “Israel’s military forces have been put on high alert after Iran threatened to retaliate over the bombing early Monday of an air base in central Syria. The T-4 Air Base had reportedly been a headquarters for Iranian drones being used in support of the Syrian regime. Israel viewed that and all other Iranian military forces in Syria as an unacceptable threat to the security for the Jewish state. While Israel maintained its policy of ambiguity regarding the T-4 base bombing, Russia, Syria, Iran and the United States all said that Israeli aircraft had been responsible. “The crimes will not remain unanswered,” insisted Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While still not explicitly admitting to the T-4 base strike, Israel Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said the Jewish state would not back down in confronting creeping Iranian hegemony. “Israel will not allow Iranian entrenchment in Syria. Whatever the cost,” Liberman told reporters. “Accepting Iranian entrenchment in Syria would be to accept Iranians putting a chokehold on us. We cannot allow that.”
To fight with the Prince of Persia
Israel’s Messiah spoke to His servant Daniel regarding a great war that would take place in the last days between Israel and Iran. (Daniel 10:14) It is clear from the text that the one speaking with Daniel was His Messiah. (Daniel 10:4-9) It was the same one who appeared to Ezekiel, and to the apostle John. (Ezekiel 1:25-28) (Revelation 1:12-18) This war was one that was being waged in the unseen spiritual realm out of time as we know it down here and one I am persuaded is going on right at the moment between the Messiah, Michael and the prince (principality) over Persia (Iran). Daniel was seeing into this spiritual realm. (Daniel 10:12-14) The Messiah said to Daniel; “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I must return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I have gone forth, indeed the prince of Greece will come.” (Daniel 10:20) Historically the Persians were never Israel’s enemies. Only after 1979 did Iran become Israel’s implacable enemy after the Ayatollah Khomeini and his henchman came to power in Iran and ousted the Shah who traced his ancestral roots back to King Cyrus. It was King Cyrus who decreed the return of the Jewish people to the land of Israel and allowed them to rebuild the Temple.
The First Strike!
As Israel remains on high alert regarding the malevolent plans of Iran, the Messiah of Israel and Michael His Angel of War are at present withstanding the principality and the ruler over Persia called “the kings of Persia.” (Daniel 10:13) Daniel was also told that after the principality of Iran had been fought that the prince over ‘Grecia’ would come against Israel. The word ‘Greece’ or ‘Grecia’ is also the word ‘Yavan’ or ‘Ionia’ which today is Turkey. Ionia was part of the empire of Alexander the Great. Inevitably Israel will have to confront Turkey. Today we see a war looming between Israel and Iran. It is a spiritual war in the unseen spiritual realm that will be waged on earth. Turkey and Iran are bedfellows and Russia is also in bed with them both. As for Syria, based on Israel’s past response to an immediate threat, the Israelis will make the first strike and take out Damascus, the Iranian missile silos in Syria and then hit Iran very hard.
“He will be saved out of it!”
Down the track Israel will be attacked by Turkey, Iran and a 200 million man Jihad minded Islamic army. (Revelation 9:13-19) At that time Michael, “the principality that stands watch over the people of Israel” will stand up to resist the principalities behind Turkey and Iran. (Daniel 12:1) This will bring in the Time of Trouble for Jacob (Israel) but He will be saved out of it! (Jeremiah 30:1-7) After three and a half years and for the sake of His elect saints and the nation of Israel the Lord Jesus will come back! (Matthew 24:21-22; 29-31) In light of the current situation in the Middle-east it would seem that Daniel’s vision regarding “the latter times” and this battle in the spiritual and unseen realm over Israel and Iran has started and will very shortly be in full swing!
