Making lives better on both sides?
According to the Haaretz online publication today a headline read; “U.S. Official: Trump’s Peace Plan Will Cause Discomfort to Both Israel and Palestinians” The Sub- header read; “Officials say plan to ‘go beyond broad parameters’ and delve into pragmatic issues. Sources outside the administration say Trump’s team thinks plan could be first to be endorsed by both Israel, Arab states.” U.S. officials told Haaretz. “The Trump administration’s peace plan will cause discomfort both in Israel and on the Palestinian side, One senior US administration official explained “When reading through the plan, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) will be unhappy on some pages and happy on others just as Israelis will be pleased with some pages and uncomfortable on others.” The official added that the plan will “go beyond broad parameters that in the past didn’t actually solve the problem,” hinting at peace plans offered by previous administrations that mostly focused on formulas for resolving the “core issues” of the conflict, such as borders, Jerusalem and security. The Trump peace team wants the plan to deal with those issues, but also to offer a wide range of pragmatic ideas that will, in the words of the senior official, “make lives better on both sides.”
A Peace ‘Deal?’
It is strongly believed by the media that President Trumps peace deal will try to have a separate Palestinian state within Israel. As for the capital of this so called ‘Palestinian State’ it remains to be seen what the proposal will entail in this matter if this land division occurs. In the light of the recent New State Law of Israel, which is factual both historically and Biblically, it remains to be seen how Abbas and Co will react to the latest ‘peace deal’ being proposed by the Trump Administration. Having said this, what does God say about any attempt to divide up the land of Israel? God Himself clearly says through the prophet Joel that He will deal most severely with those nations that seek to ‘carve up’ the land of Israel.
What does God say?
“For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.” (Joel 3:1-3)
The ‘peace-deal’ of the Century?
President Trump has shown himself to be favourable to Israel in the past but what will his proposal be? Does he really have Israel’s best interests at heart or is he more focused on pulling off ‘the peace-deal of the Century?’ If he has decided to divide Israel up between the Jews and the Arabs and force the Israelis to comply with his demands he may find himself and his administration in dire straits because God will move against him. No one doubts the consideration President Trump has shown towards Israel especially with the establishment of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, an event promised by past US Presidents but never actuated by them.
“My Heritage, My People!”
God Himself calls Israel “My people” and “My heritage” because God takes it personally when His people Israel are maliciously slandered in the media and denigrated by those politicians in the UN and the EU that are always calling for sanctions against Israel but more so when these politicians seek to divide up His Land being Israel’s inheritance from Him to be for them “an everlasting possession.” If the Trump Administration proposed peace plan decides to divide Israel to the detriment of the sovereign and undivided nation of Israel then he will be “casting lots” and “selling Israelis out to their enemies.” It will be as if “they have cast lots for God’s covenant people and have given a boy as payment for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.”
Political expediency?
President Trump knows full well that there is a very high probability that Abbas and Co will not accept any peace deal. As for the capital of a so called ‘Palestinian State’ will Abbas and Co except anything less that Jerusalem. Abbas will never be satisfied with East Jerusalem only. So what will President Trump propose? How will he handle the situation? What will he bring to the negotiating table other than what previous Presidents before him have brought? It will be interesting to see what he is actually proposing in light of what past American Presidents have tried to do in seeking to make peace between Israelis and Arabs. If President Trump really knows what the Bible says concerning Israel then for his own sake and that of the American nation he cannot afford to go against the will of God concerning God’s heritage. Already President Trump has gone against Political correctness on several main issues but what will he do with this situation that exists between Israel and the Palestinian Authority? On this issue will political expediency rule the day?
God is still in Control!
God has said through the prophet Daniel; “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are His. He changes times and seasons; He deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” (Daniel 2:20-21)
Discernment required
If President Trump does not have discernment in this matter and goes ahead and compromises and reneges on his total commitment to Israel’s welfare and sovereignty as a nation state in its own right under God, and proposes to enforce on Israel the “two-state solution from hell” first proposed years ago by the Quartet then his administration may well topple overnight. In the light of this happening you may well find American armies among the multitudes of the armies of the nations gathered by God into the valley of decision on that Day when He judges the armies of those nations attacking Jerusalem. On that day they will find themselves under the hammer of God’s divine retribution for “selling His people down the river!”
“Multitudes in the valley of Decision!”
As the prophet Joel cries out; “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” (Joel 3:14) What President Trump ultimately decides to do will have ramifications, not only for his Administration or for the whole Middle-Eastern region, but for the people of America and the whole world ultimately. As it has been said; “If America goes it all goes!”
