The Gathering Storm (A Word for Australia) 23.7.2025
“Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the Law.” (Proverbs 29:18).
The Prime Minister of Australia has returned from a six-day visit to China. According to a report in Sky News online a headline read; “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s trip to China faces criticism from opposition over ‘indulgent’ optics and lack of serious negotiations.” The sub-heading read; “He has been criticised for “indulging” in optics as he snapped pictures with pandas and strolled the Great Wall of China on the final days of his diplomatic visit to People’s Republic.”
According to the report it stated; “Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has engaged in panda diplomacy on the final day of his trip to China, but faces criticism for indulging in optics rather than serious statesmanship. The final leg of the trip has been dominated by symbolic gestures as Mr Albanese visited the Chengdu Research Centre for Giant Panda Breeding on Thursday.
He posed for cameras in a Hawthorn Hawks jacket and praised the role of panda diplomacy in fostering bilateral ties. “They’re very sensible, smart,” Mr Albanese told his guide after he was informed of the way pandas “get up early” and “move around outside.”
Reflecting on his encounter with Fu Ni—a giant panda that spent 15 years at Adelaide Zoo—Mr Albanese heaped praise on the Australia-China connection. “It’s a really strong connection that is there… And the visit here has been very warmly received,” Mr Albanese told Sky News.”
However, the diplomatic visit has faced heavy criticism as Mr Albanese avoided broaching any serious issues between the Australian and Chinese governments. This was despite his government’s oft-repeated claim that “We will disagree (with China) where we must, and engage in the national interest.”
“What we discuss… are issues of today and tomorrow rather than the past,” he said at a press conference in Chengdu.
Between February 2022 and February 2025, Chinese warship directed a laser at an Australian aircraft, endangering Australian military personnel. A Chinese fighter dropped chaff in front of an Australian patrol jet risking collision and damage. A Chinese warship injured Australian navy divers with a sonar burst highlighting aggressive tactics.
A Chinese fighter dropped flares in front of an Australian helicopter increasing risk to Australian forces. Most recently in February this year Chinese naval vessels conducted live-fire drills near Australian waters raising alarms about regional security.
From listening to Prime Minister Albanese’s response to questions by the media it seems these matters were not discussed. Apparently the Australian Prime Minister ‘soft peddled’ on speaking at length about China’s aggressive military actions that were an obvious threat to Australia’s national security.
This port of Darwin is huge which China owns not far from Australia’s naval shipyards. Quite easily China could dock naval vessels in the Port and have boots on the ground if they decided to invade Australia. It would seem that the Australian Prime Minister is more at home with socialist/Communist ideology than with democracy.
If America was not able to come to Australia’s defence in face of an invasion of the country by China would Mr Albanese roll out the red carpet for Xi Jingping and welcome him to Australia with a 19 gun salute and after this raise a toast to his honour within the ‘hallowed’ halls of Parliament in Canberra?
Throughout his trip, Mr Albanese avoided clashing with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the Darwin Port, China’s support for Russia or recent military drills near Australian waters. Instead, he dined with President Xi, watched a Chinese rendition of Paul Kelly and Midnight Oil songs, and walked the Great Wall of China.”
In June 2024 last year Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed Chinese Premier Li Qiang to the Australian Parliament in Canberra for high-level talks that both sides described as candid. Li was welcomed by a brass band as he inspected a military guard of honour in front of Parliament House, and a 19-gun artillery salute briefly drowned out the noisy crowds.
At a state lunch with more than 300 guests, he was served a menu including Australian beef and wines grown in the Canberra region. At the State lunch Prime Minister Albanese raised his glass to toast the Chinese Premier.
Strategically, Australia’s relationship with the United States is showing signs of strain. The Government’s increasingly soft posture toward Communist China, particularly its silence on Taiwan, has not gone unnoticed in Washington. High-level Trump-aligned officials have publicly questioned Canberra’s reliability as an ally. If Australia continues hedging between Beijing and Washington, it could find itself shut out of security arrangements.
It is common knowledge that the Australian Prime Minister advocates socialism and it would seem current legislation being rushed through Parliament mirrors the policies of China where citizens are subjected to a social credit score system, digital ID’s, facial recognition, penalties for opinions that disagree with the official government narrative, where Artificial Intelligence monitoring website data bases and removing them if deemed critical or ‘inappropriate’ according to their definition of what is appropriate.
Ultimately in Australia restrictions will be placed on dissenters who express their views that do not align with government policies. Bank accounts will be suspended on those who do not comply with the official Government narrative. Ultimately Australians will have the social credit score system that they have in China imposed upon them as the Albanese regime pursue their end goal namely the subjugation of all Australians to a centralised digital ID system of governance.
Even Christian churches that cannot cooperate with Un-Biblical government mandates will be penalised and in some cases closed down. The Covid 19 restrictions, lockdowns, masks and mandated experimental vaccinations, were all planned by global elite as test runs in managing a form of centralised population control.
As a former Australian senator called it; “a unified system of digital tyranny—surveillance, censorship, and coercion rebranded as inclusion, safety, and sustainability.”
The Australian Government has now welcomed the adoption of the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic Treaty which in reality is a form of population control and is not really to do with ‘pandemics’ or public health even though this is the official narrative being released for the public.
Now the Australian population can be subjected to lockdowns, mandated vaccinations and subject to door to door surveillance by security officers to enforce the mandates and all ‘legalised’ by a bunch of bureaucrats in the WHO that were not elected and whose policies have been signed and taken on board by the Albanese government.
Prime Minister Albanese it would seem has ‘thumbed up his nose’ at President Trump in favour of spending six days with Xi Jinping and praising him and his Communist regime. Australia of course is part of the Indo-Pacific Alliances which consists of Japan, South Korea, and Thailand and the Philippines which all have US military personnel and military bases stationed in their respective nations.
Any Prime Minister that really cared for the welfare of his people would have included in his visits Japan, South Korea, Thailand and the Philippines, all allies of Australia in the Indo-Pacific Alliance.
With China’s seemingly aggressive behaviour in the South Pacific with its Belt and Road Initiative infrastructure programme established in the Cook Islands. The Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Vanuatu and Samoa it is clear that China wants to expand its ‘empire’ in the South pacific. Added to this China has been building artificial islands with full-blown military bases in the South China Sea.
If China invades Taiwan then the whole South pacific Region will possibly be plunged into a war which will see the United States have “a face off” with China being the two most powerful nations in the world both having a nuclear arsenal and with the biggest economies globally.
Having said this, if for example America finds itself fighting on several fronts globally with its military capabilities stretched to their capacity then they may not be able to stretch their military forces to defend Australia against a Chinese invasion.
It is only in Australia’s best interest for the Albanese Government to keep in good relations with the United States Government and exercise discernment when engaging with the Chinese despotic Communist regime.
Our text from the Word of God reads; “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law” (Proverbs 29:18).
When any nation departs from the laws of God has given for the spiritual and temporal welfare of men and women in every walk of life in that nation things will begin to spin out of control as the people by and large cast of restraint having no insight or revelation of the things God requires for every nation to prosper in every way. This is the way of the unsaved in this world that do not reverence God or take heed to His Word.
The “vision” in its context is the God given insight to see how one should conduct their lives in this world and see things from God’s perspective through the supernatural revelation given by the Holy Spirit. This principle not only applies to the average person on the street but also to those who run the government.
The prophet Daniel wrote; “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him. He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and establishes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:19-22).
God has ordained government for the welfare of the people over whom the leaders of their respective nations govern. In His wisdom and foresight and eternal plans and purposes He allows certain men and women to become leaders of nations with the expectation that they will govern wisely and seek His wisdom. If they do then He will give them more wisdom.
However, if those kings or leaders He has established do not seek His wisdom and to uphold the Word of God then He removes them as He is also in control of times and seasons. To those who have a heart for God He reveals the deeper things from His Word and the spiritual insight needed to walk in His ways.
Australia does have a Judeo-Christian heritage being in the past a colony of Great Britain. There was a time when even though there were convict settlements there was a spiritual foundation for the laws and governance of God that were put in place to govern “the Land Down under,” which was also called “The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit” by. Pedro Fernandes de Queirós, a Portuguese navigator in the service of Spain.
The current Australian government with its anti-Biblical, Anti-Israel and socialist stance and ungodly legislation being fast tracked through Parliament, and it would seem its intent to embrace the nation of China where Christians are persecuted every day and God is ignored, it is taking this nation down into a dark pit of centralised dictatorial despotism.
If Albo sells Australia “down the river” to China, then it may well be that through persecution that Australia will have the greatest spiritual revival like never before in its history as a nation! Selah.
