“Should I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?”

“Should I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this? (Jeremiah 5:9b)

The LORD has a controversy with the Gentile nations today including Israel. Millions of innocent babies right now are being sacrificed on the pagan altars of abortion clinics in the western democracies and in Israel. America is one of the chief nations with this blood of the innocents in their skirts! According to LifeNews.com in America the Supreme Court will not revive a ban in Alabama on dismemberment abortions where babies limbs are torn off. One of the leading Justices has stated “Nothing in the Constitution (of America) prohibits passing laws prohibiting dismemberment of a living child.” Another judge keeps dismemberment abortions legal in Indiana where 27 babies have died having their limbs literally torn off. An abortion centre in Missouri got to continue aborting babies and the abortion activists celebrated. A federal appeals court has upheld a Kentucky law allowing women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn baby before having an abortion.

The horrific and demonic idolatrous practice of child sacrifice has been committed throughout the world for thousands of years. Generally speaking, the sacrifice of a child was intertwined with the worship of a pagan deity, often a fertility god. Worshipers sought to obtain a blessing from their god or gods to confirm or complete a vow taken in the name of that god. Ancient Aztecs, Incas, and a few other peoples in South and Central America practiced child sacrifice. It was the same for the Druids of Europe. The city of Carthage in North Africa contains evidence of child sacrifice related to the worship of Ba’al Hammon, a god imported from Phoenicia. Many Roman writers refer to this barbaric act in Carthage.

God spoke to the people of Israel in the Southern Kingdom through the prophet Jeremiah about this demonic pagan practice of offering up innocent babies to the fires of the pagan god Moloch. Now Moloch worship was practiced by the Ammonites and Canaanites, who revered Moloch as a protecting father figure. Images of Moloch were made of bronze, and their outstretched arms were heated red-hot. Living children were then placed into the idol’s hands and died there or were rolled into a fire pit below still alive and kicking. Some sources indicate a child might also be “passed through the fire” prior to the actual sacrifice in order to purify or baptize the child. Moloch worship occurred in the Hinnom Valley near Jerusalem. Because of this, the valley became associated with the idea of Tophet, or hell being Satan’s domain. (Isaiah 30:33; Jeremiah 19:12; Mark 9:45) (Matthew 25:41). God prohibited Israel from child sacrifice in general and Moloch worship in particular.

God spake through His servant Moses; “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Moloch is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Moloch he has defiled My sanctuary and profaned My holy name. If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Moloch and if they fail to put him to death, I myself will set My face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Moloch.’” (Leviticus 20:2-5)

Many other Old Testament passages affirm God’s zero-tolerance for child sacrifice. We are told in God’s Word that King Solomon became involved with Moloch worship. (1 Kings 11:4-11) Later the evil King Manassah offered his own son as a sacrifice (2 Kings 21:6) as did King Ahaz (2 Chronicles 28;1-4) The people of the Southern kingdom of Judah participated in this murder of their own sons, a sin so detestable in God’s sight that it had never even crossed His mind. (Jeremiah 32:35) Some critics of the Bible point to the story of Abraham, who laid his son Isaac on an altar and prepared to sacrifice him as directed by God (Genesis 22:1-14). However, in this case, God was testing the obedience and faith of Abraham. God stopped him from actually following through and provided a ram as a substitute sacrifice. Child sacrifices were one of the reasons that Judah went into captivity by the Babylonians. Will America escape God’s judgement for this demonic sin? Will Israel escape God’s judgement for this demonic sin? The Bible is clear that every form of idolatry is the worship of demons. (Deuteronomy 32:16-17) (1 Corinthians 10:20)

Even today, child sacrifice is practiced throughout the world. There has been a resurgence of child sacrifice in Uganda. It was reported some time ago that witch doctors had been implicated in the mutilation and death of children who were killed in an effort to bring good fortune and wealth to those willing to pay for it. This horrendous sin in God’s sight continues to this day in western democracies and even in Israel on the altars of abortion clinics for the sake of convenience, immorality, pride or for the pursuit of materialism, comfort and career. Hundreds of thousands of babies have been killed so that their parents can maintain a certain lifestyle. God hates “hands that shed innocent blood” (Proverbs 6:17), and we can be sure that God will judge the nations that perpetrate this horrendous sin against the unborn. God loves babies and they are an emblem of his love when He sent the Lord Jesus into the world to save men and women, boys and girls from the horrendous slavery to sin and its penalty for time and eternity. Non therapeutic abortion is murder. One of the Ten Commandments written by the finger of God says “You shall not murder.” (Exodus 20:13)

While there are many women and men today (they are not off the hook in this matter either) who think nothing of having an unwanted baby aborted, there are multitudes of women today who genuinely regret that they had an non-therapeutic abortion and have, with heartfelt regret and sadness and in great distress and guilt, have repented before God and found His love and forgiveness and cleansing available for them through the blood of the Lord Jesus being perfectly efficacious to purge their guilty conscience from their sin and to bring about for them His deep peace that transcends all human understanding. (Hebrews 9:14) (1 John 1:9) (Philippians 4:7) Added to this there are those who do advocate and fight for the right to life for the unborn babies and wage a ceaseless campaign against this sin of idolatry and witchcraft.

Having said this, whether it is America, Australia, Europe or Israel and in any nation for that matter that condones this sacrificing of babies to demons on the altar of the abortion clinics today, we can be sure that God will judge these nations for this horrendous murder of the innocent babies who have no say in the matter. Many who advocate non therapeutic abortion and instigate laws that condone it bring down upon themselves and their nation the judgement of God whether they are Jew or Gentile. Those who pass laws that condone non-therapeutic abortion are just as guilty as those who have them.

As the apostle Paul writes; “Or do you think lightly of the riches of His (God’s) kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, who will render to each person according to his deeds: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life; but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, but glory and honour and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.” (Romans 2:4-11)

God Himself loves all men and women equally and without partiality and especially the little innocent unborn babies in their mother’s womb. He wants those who promote and have non-therapeutic abortion to repent of this sin of idolatry, witchcraft and murder. The nations that promote and pass laws allowing and even forcing these laws upon their people will ultimately fall under the judgement of God, make no mistake about this! God says to any nation that condones this hideous crime, “Should I not avenge Myself on such a nation as this?”
