A role model?
Yesterday a headline appeared in the online edition of Israel Today that read; “Palestinian Authority Touts Its Gender Equality For Letting Women Be Terrorists.” The article went on to say; “Not wanting to miss out on the gender equality movement that’s all the rage in most of the Western world these days, the Palestinian Authority has been talking up the prominent role of women in its society. For instance, most Palestinian leaders have absolutely no problem with women joining men as equals in the merciless slaughter of Israeli Jews. In fact, the most deadly Palestinian terrorist attack on Israelis ever was led by a women. In 1978, Dalal Mughrabi and her team of killers from current Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, hijacked a passenger bus on Israel’s coastal highway and executed 37 of the people aboard, including 12 children. Mughrabi has ever since been held aloft as a role model for Palestinian girls.”
Through applied pressure
With all the bombings, stabbings and terrorist acts of the Palestinian Arab terrorists in Israel no one condones the senseless violence and killing of Israeli citizens by these demon-driven fanatics spurred on by Abbas and the like whether they be men or women. Applied pressure is on Israel from the UN the EU and by stealth and subterfuge from Russia who are supplying weapons to the Assad Syrian regime. Then you have Iran ‘hell-bent’ on destroying Israel and placing Iranian soldiers and missile launchers in Syria with their missiles facing Israel. Then you have the ‘Palestinian’ Arabs committing acts of violence on Israeli soil, not to mention ‘General’ Erdogan, the man from Turkey, also putting forces within Syria with the ultimate aim of deposing the Assad regime and having a base from which to attack Israel. You can be sure of this that in time God is going to completely deliver Israel and personally deal with all of Israel’s enemies. (Luke 1:71)
God loves Israel
God loves Israel and since 1948 has started to turn His grace back to that nation as foretold in the writings of the prophets. In 1948 “a nation was born in a day.”(Isaiah 66:8) Ultimately Israel will “possess their possessions” and “shall possess the gate of their enemies” (Obadiah 1:17) (Genesis 22:17) Why will this happen? because of God’s covenant promise to Abraham that his descendants would inherit the land from the Wadi of Egypt to the River Euphrates and that it would be for them “an everlasting possession.” (Genesis 15:17-21; 17:7-8) Having said this we must always keep in view that in the Bible whenever God’s people Israel turned away from Him He sent their enemies against them to bring about Israel’s repentance and total reliance upon Him. God has always drawn His people back to Himself through applied pressure and that at the hands of their enemies. He is permitting these attacks against Israel, not approving of those perpetrating them of course, but to bring about Israel’s spiritual restoration to Himself and to their Messiah. Ultimately “All Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:25-29) (Zechariah 12:10-14) God used the Assyrians against backslidden Israel and then got rid of the Assyrians. He used the Babylonians against backslidden Israel and then got rid of the Babylonians. He used the Romans against backslidden Israel and then got rid of the Romans. He is using Islam today against backslidden Israel and He is going to get rid of Islam as well and ‘big time! (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Isaiah 34:9-10)
Possessing the gate of their enemies
When the dust of conflict and affliction settles Israel will be left standing with no one to make them afraid again. (Micah 4:4) Their enemies will be all gone! (Daniel 2:32-35, 39-45) All of these afflictions for Israel are leading up to the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. It will be a terrible time for Israel and for the whole world for that matter and out of this fiery furnace of affliction will come a people purified and set apart to God and to their Messiah to co-reign with Him in His Millennial Kingdom. (Daniel 7:18, 24) It will be a time of trouble for Jacob (Israel) but he (Israel) will be saved out of it. (Jeremiah 30:1-10) At the last God is going to have mercy on Israel, not because they have deserved or earned it but because of His names sake and for His glory and to show His faithfulness to His covenant promises made to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Ezekiel 36:22-38) (Genesis 15:17-21; 17:7-8) Israel will indeed “possess the gate of their enemies!”
