Today when you mention the cross many people think of the cross on a chain that people wear around their neck or dangle from their rear vision mirror in their car or associate it with the symbol of the cross on the wall at the front of the church auditorium or on the apex of a church steeple. In many churches the spiritual benefits of the cross related to our salvation are often preached about, which is necessary, and we are encouraged by the salvation that has come to us by the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus.
