“In the early 1930s, the mood in Germany was grim. The worldwide economic depression had hit the country especially hard, and millions of people were out of work. Still fresh in the minds of many was Germany’s humiliating defeat fifteen years earlier during World War I, and Germans lacked confidence in their weak government, known as the Weimar Republic. These conditions provided the chance for the rise of a new leader, Adolf Hitler, and his party, the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or Nazi Party for short. Hitler was a powerful and spellbinding speaker who attracted a wide following of Germans desperate for change. He promised the disenchanted a better life and a new and glorious Germany.

The Nazis appealed especially to the unemployed, young people, and members of the lower middle class (small store owners, office employees, craftsmen, and farmers). The party’s rise to power was rapid. Before the economic depression struck, the Nazis were practically unknown, winning only 3 percent of the vote to the Reichstag (German parliament) in elections in 1924. In the 1932 elections, the Nazis won 33 percent of the votes, more than any other party. In January 1933 Hitler was appointed chancellor, the head of the German government, and many Germans believed that they had found a saviour for their nation.”*

Adolph Hitler arose out of obscurity and humanly speaking there was nothing impressive about him. However, something changed in him when a supernatural power possessed him and through this principality Hitler was empowered to kick-start WW2.

I was watching a documentary related to the Hitler Nazi Youth Movement in the 1930’s in Germany and the host was interviewing an elderly man who had been a fully-fledged member of Hitler’s Youth Movement. Before he joined the movement the man said as a young boy he was standing in a crowd as Adolph Hitler was driven past in an open top vehicle saluting then people as the car proceeded slowly along the street.

The old man being interviewed said he was looking at Hitler when suddenly Hitler fixed his gaze on him. The man said; “at that moment I was mesmerised by his gaze at me and immediately wanted to follow him.” Hitler’s enchanting power to draw people to himself was a supernatural power far beyond his own human ability to sway the crowds to follow his agenda. His power was occult in nature.

Hitler came to power in a time when he knew that a war would kick start the economy and restores the people of Germany’s pride in the historic military might that marked this nation down through history. It was a time when nations were stirring militarily as we see today only the stakes are much higher!

Today we have a similar situation in Turkey. From firing central bank governors to a currency that is hovering around record lows, investors are losing confidence in Turkey. Turkey’s economy grew almost 6 percent in 2020, making it one of the two countries in the G20 to record growth in a Covid-19 pandemic-hit year. But debts are soaring, inflation is rising, and the currency is near record lows, raising concerns about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s economic stewardship.

Now we know from God’s Word that Turkey will be the nation that will lead the Islamic nations and some other non-Islamic nations into Israel and lay siege to Jerusalem. (Ezekiel 38:1-6) Turkey we are told is the nation wherein lies the seat of Satan’s power. (Revelation 2:13)

When the Lord Jesus wrote his letters to the seven Assemblies through the apostle John they were all located in modern day Turkey. The seven Assemblies were seven literal Assemblies that existed in John’s time. Prophetically they can collectively represent the global Body of the Messiah corporately.

It would seem that the Holy Spirit was indicating that the end-time universal Body of the Messiah would have to confront a Turkish led Islamic empire ruled by a man in the character of Adolph Hitler, a Turkish ruler empowered by a principality that would give that man the supernatural drawing power to unite the whole Islamic world in a Jihad, the likes of which has never been seen in past history or never to be equalled again in the future. (Matthew 24:21-22) (Daniel 12:1) (Joel 2:1-11) (Revelation 9:13-19)

It will be an army that God has raised up only for the purpose of carrying out His prophetic purposes in relation to Israel, Christendom and the world. After He has used this army He will destroy it. (Joel 2:20) Until the faithful Body of the Messiah knows who the man of sin is the rapture and resurrection will not happen. If the faithful Body of the Messiah was not on earth when the man of sin is revealed then why would Paul have told the believers at the assembly in Thessalonica about the revealing of this man of lawlessness?

The final apostasy within Christendom will pave the way for the revealing of the man of lawlessness (Torahlessness) in the same way the apostasy of the Church and its theological seminaries in Germany paved the way for Adolph Hitler’s rise to power in the early 1930’s. We know that the man of sin or lawlessness will come and that the Holy Spirit now restrains him from being fully recognised and revealed. However, the time will come when he will be revealed whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendour of His coming. (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8)
