Four days ago a headline appeared in the online edition of the “All Israel News” website that said; “Israel blasts UNGA decision in favour of full Palestinian membership as ‘prize for Hamas.” According to the article the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted overwhelmingly in favour of full Palestinian membership in the UN in a resolution that stated the UNGA “determines that the State of Palestine … should therefore be admitted to membership” and “recommends that the Security Council reconsider the matter favourably.”
Out of the 193 UN member states, 143 voted in favour, 9 voted against, including the United States and Israel, and 25 countries abstained. The vote recognized Palestinians as eligible to join the UN as a full member, but such a decision ultimately required the approval of the 15 members of the UN Security Council, including the United States, which has previously vetoed such an application. The vote grants Palestinian representatives expanded rights and privileges at the UN, notably the ability to participate in debates and enhances their international standing.
Israel blasted the UNGA vote with Foreign Minister Israel Katz arguing that it was a “prize for Hamas.” The Palestinian Authority (PA), led by President Mahmoud Abbas, has sought to achieve full membership in the UN for years. Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour told the UN General Assembly before the vote last Friday; “We want peace, we want freedom, a “yes” vote is a vote for Palestinian existence, it is not against any state…. It is an investment in peace.”
Following Mansour’s statement Israel’s UN ambassador Gilad Erdan vehemently criticized the assembly for its decision to allow the PA to expand its rights and privileges in the international organization. He further stated; “As long as so many of you are ‘Jew-hating,’ you don’t really care that the Palestinians are not ‘peace-loving.’”
In a symbolic gesture during his speech, Gilad Erdan shredded up a copy of the UN Charter, which stipulates that candidates for UN membership must be “peace-loving states.” “When it comes to the lives of Israelis and Jews, the UN Charter means nothing to you…” Erdan argued. “This day will go down in infamy and I want the entire world to remember this moment… this immoral act,” he said. “You are shredding the UN Charter with your own hands. Shame on you.”
There is no doubt that the UNGA does not favour Israel. Since 2015, the General Assembly has adopted 140 resolutions criticizing Israel, mainly over its so called ruthless and oppressive treatment of the ‘Palestinians,’ its relationships with neighbouring countries and other alleged wrongdoings, all false accusations of course! Over the same period, the UNGA has passed 68 resolutions against all other countries.
Now God is clear in His Word that those who oppose Israel oppose Him! To our shame as a nation now in reality under a socialist minded Labor government, the Federal Government of Australia headed up by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese took it upon himself to say “yes” to the resolution, in reality betraying the Jewish community of Australia.
Watching past videos of the Australian Parliament in session Anthony Albanese was openly vocal and clearly in favour of a so called ‘Palestinian State.’ Another specific video from the past shows him in the middle of a crowd of pro-Palestinian supporters actually condemning Israel through a microphone. Anthony Albanese saying “yes” to the vote gave legitimacy to the terrorist group Hamas and to the PA which vehemently opposes the existence of Israel and wants to see all of the Jews expelled from Israel.
A “yes” vote for a so called Palestinian State is a “yes” vote for Islamic Jihad, not only against the Jewish people but also against the west including Australia. The conflict at its core is not about the status of Jerusalem but more so about the expansion of Islam globally.
The UN originally formed as the League of Nations after WW2 was established to defend the security of its member nations when they were attacked by foreign forces, and especially Israel was established as a member nation in light of the butchery perpetrated against the Jews by the Nazis in the horrific holocaust.
Now we see an the UN as an organization that is impotent when it comes to taking a stand against Islamic infamy and tyranny that we see happening around the globe in virtually every nation today including most UNGA member non-Islamic nations. It is also clear that UNGA are no longer in favour of protecting Israel. What the politicians in the western democracies do not see, or choose not to see, including the Albanese Labor Government in Australia, is that Islam is not only at war with Israel but also at war with the whole western democratic system of government and way of life.
There is no doubt that 9/11 was a wake-up call to western governments! Israel sees this Islamic agenda for global supremacy clearly! A “yes” vote for a Palestinian State in the UNGA is a “yes” vote for Hamas and for global terrorism!
It is interesting to note that when you consider the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazi hierarchy, being Hitler’s henchman against the Jewish people, there were many German soldiers who were also forced to participate in the brutal murder of the Jews, however, many of these rank and file soldiers were not happy to do the killing but did so to save their own lives.
In contrast to this, when you see Hamas terrorists laughing and delighting in killing without remorse, raping Jewish women, indiscriminately shooting and beheading babies in their cots, and families being burnt alive in their homes, and the slaughter and mutilating of men and women of all ages, you see anything but a peace loving ‘Palestinian State’ that the UNGA has now embraced, and that has been endorsed by Anthony Albanese supported by Penny Wong!
Watching the videos online of the Arab ‘civilians’ in Gaza laughing and cheering on the Hamas murderers and rapists and child killers and the crowds celebrating in Gaza after the October 7th massacre in 2023 even as the Israeli hostages were being paraded like sheep to be slaughtered by Hamas, clearly shows that by and large the ‘civilians’ in Gaza support Hamas.
Even in Judea and Samaria, the heartland of Israel, Jewish civilians in their Kibbutzim are now watching their Arab neighbours closely as many Arabs living in the neighbourhood are becoming increasingly open in their hostility towards the Jewish people. We see this hostility towards the Jewish people increasing at an alarming rate in cities, on college campuses and in universities in America, Great Britain, France, Germany and in Australia and in the cities of other western nations.
All of this useless ‘rhetoric’ by the UN and the EU and the United States, and by the Saudis and the United Arab Emirates, and by Egypt and by Australia, and other western democracies, thinking that a two-state solution is the answer to a peace in the Middle-East, is a ‘myth!’
Sanctioning a so called ‘Palestinian state’ is sanctioning terrorism, murder and mayhem against Jews and ultimately against Israel’s spiritual offspring the Body of Messiah (the faithful Church) spiritually grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel, and spreading to the western post Christian democracies. What happened on October 7th will not stop there if a Palestinian State is established. Hamas are declaring openly that they will repeat October 7th again and again. A “yes” vote is a vote for global Islamic terror!
Now God’s Word is clear that those who curse Israel will themselves be cursed because Israel is still the apple of God’s eye. Added to this, when God restores the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem He is going to judge those nations that seek to divide up His real estate and treat His people as if they were prostitutes to be used, bought and sold in the market place as you would buy and sell cheap wine (Joel 3:1-3).
A terrible judgement from God is coming to all those leaders of the nations with their armies that array themselves against Israel, and Australia is no exception with a Prime Minister that said an unequivocal “yes” vote for the establishment of a so called ‘Palestinians State’ becoming a UN member.
This decision will only foster and ferment the Anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian rallies and protests against Israel and Jews we have already seen in Australian cities. Anthony Albanese in voting “yes” and supported by Penny Wong for a Palestinian State is a “yes” vote for terrorism, a terrorism that will come to those nations that want to see a two-state solution including Australia.
Israel is on the front line fighting against an implacable merciless demonic terrorist organization that has a global agenda to see Islamic law and ideology established in every nation of the world. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly said that what has come upon Israel will come upon the rest of western democratic nations. Israel is the last line of defence against Islamic globalism!
Israel as a nation and her spiritual offspring, the faithful Body of Messiah, are still the apple of God’s eye and those who seek to bring down God’s inheritance will themselves be brought down, and be numbered with the goat nations that the Messiah, after He has returned, who will judge and consign them to Hades because they did not support the Jewish people (Matthew 25:31-46).
If Prime Minister Albanese supported by Penny Wong continue to go down this path that abandons Israel to her implacable enemies, then they will reap the results of their decision made in the UN and take the people of Australia with them who voted for them in the past election. Australia, as a nation in reality are under a socialist minded government whose Prime Minister has voted for a Palestinian state recognised, endorsed and embraced by the UNGA that is a betrayal of every Jew living in Australia.
In Prime Minister Anthony Albanese voting “yes,” whether the people of Australia are aware of it or not when they voted for Labor in the last Federal election, they have voted for a government that is against Israel, against the Christian Church, against democracy and free speech and diametrically opposed to the law of God as set forth in His unchanging Word the Bible.
Unless we have a spiritual revival in Australia across the board within Church communities and a return to the absolute authority of God’s Word the Bible, then Australia will not escape being judged by God along with those nations that support a “yes” vote for the recognition of a so called ‘Palestinian state’ being established as a member ‘nation’ of the United Nations.
A “yes” vote for this resolution is a feather in the cap of Hamas and in their thinking a reward for them in their remorseless quest for their global terrorist agenda, and that is the bottom line! May the LORD have mercy on the nation of Australia for the “yes” decision made by Anthony Albanese for UNGA’s decision to make a so called ‘Palestinian’ state a member of this Godless international organization.
