Zechariah Chapter 8
Introduction
Did you know that the Lord is exceedingly jealous for the welfare of His people Israel? He wanted to have a nation set apart for Him free from idolatry through which He could bless the nations and ultimately through whom He would send the Messiah to save His people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21) He chose Abraham and called him His friend. (Isaiah 41:8) (James 2:23) God knew that Abraham would respond to God’s call and chose Abraham to be the patriarch of this new and unique nation set apart to God for his exclusive use in the earth. As God also said; “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. For I have chosen him, so that he will command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, in order that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has promised.” (Genesis 18:18-19)…
