On the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem a 120 born again believers in the Messiah our Lord Jesus were drenched with the power of the Holy Spirit from heaven. In the Second chapter of Acts we are told that this rather small band of Messiah’s followers were sitting in an upper room where they had all joined together constantly in prayer. Among them were the twelve apostles, the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and His brothers (Acts 1:12-14). Before He left to ascend to heaven after He had risen from the dead, the Messiah our Lord Jesus told His disciples that they were not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit to be poured out upon them as a believing community.
