According to a report earlier this week in the Online Website “Life News.com” a statement read; “The United States marked 47 years of legalized abortion in all fifty states at any time for any reason throughout pregnancy on January 22nd, the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision. Since that time, there have been an estimated 61,628,584 abortions that have destroyed the lives of unborn children. The number means there are more than 2,362 abortions daily and 98 abortions per hour every hour in the United States. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. Abortion has taken a terrible toll on America.
We’ve now lost more than 61 million of our sons, daughters, friends, and neighbours and we are a much poorer nation for it. The total number of babies killed in abortions in the United States equals the combined population of 19 states! When examined another way, these abortions equal the population of the entire country of Italy. Imagine if Italy or 19 states and every single person living there was entirely wiped off the map. It would be a global catastrophe that would leave every single human being on the planet in shock and horror. But when it comes to aborted babies, some people celebrate that massive destruction of human life. Others just don’t care.”
The sacrificing of babies through abortion is something that inevitably will bring about God’s judgement on the nations that perpetrate it against the little ones who have no say in the matter. God Himself the creator of all life watches over each little baby that is created in the womb of its mother. When God created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman He gave them the ability to procreate other human beings. (Genesis 1:28)
Now we are also told in the God’s Word, the Bible that God knits a little one together in its mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13) While He does this creative work at the point of conception He still allows for the free will of men and women in this process of creating another human being with an eternal soul because man has been made in his image with the capacity to live forever and to create other human beings. In deciding whether they will have children or not is the responsibility of those who plan to have a baby. While God overshadows the womb of each woman that falls pregnant He does not override the free will of the man and the woman in this process.
Because of man’s sinful nature and rebellious nature against God and His laws this act of pro-creation has also been affected by the fall of man. The results are clearly seen in the unwanted pregnancies resulting in non-therapeutic abortions. The case where abortion is performed for the sake of the mother’s life is an exception. Even in the case of a rape resulting in an unwanted pregnancy there are adoption agencies and millions of couples around the world who would love to adopt a little new born baby to give it a chance to live. God Himself puts up with many things and over the course of time no sin is left unpunished. (Matthew 12: 36) (Galatians 6:7) (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
While some in this life seem to get away with their evil deeds they will inevitably give an account to God for what they have said and done in this life. (Hebrews 9:27) All life is sacred and precious to God and even concerning the death of the wicked God has no pleasure in it because all human beings are made in His image and He wants men to repent rather than perish. He proved this when the Lord Jesus died for sinners that they might be forgiven when they repent and believe in Him to save them, making Him their Lord and Saviour. (Ezekiel 33:11) (2 Peter 3:9) (Romans 10:9-13) (John 1:12-13)
Non therapeutic abortion is murder whichever way you look to approach it and it is done for convenience. We live in a day and age when the mother’s rights to choose are paramount in the thinking of multitudes of women who think nothing of disposing their unborn babies which is what they are doing and that because it is convenient to their lifestyles. What about the rights of the little unborn baby? It does not have the capacity to say anything even though it feels and thinks and perceives things from its conception as medical science proves. It cries out for life even from its womb and God hears its cry.
In the Old Testament times the pagans sacrificed their babies to demons on the altars of the pagan god Molech and many of God’s people became involved in this horrific practice. God never endorsed this kind of sacrifice. Some would say what about the case with Abraham and Isaac? However, it was a test of Abraham’s faith and God had already provided a substitute animal to be sacrificed.
The only other situation was when the LORD commanded the Israelites under Joshua to destroy the people of the pagan cities in the land of Canaan. These cities were enclaves of sodomy and witchcraft and violence and all kinds of sexually deviant behaviour including the worship of demonic idols. The babies killed were being preserved from growing up to become as wicked as their parents. Let it be clearly said that all little babies that die go to heaven as they do not have the capacity to choose good from evil, neither do they have the capacity to repent and believe even though they like all humans are born with a sinful nature. (Psalm 51:5)
Having said this, a woman who has had a non-therapeutic abortion can find cleansing and forgiveness through the atoning blood provided at the cross of our Lord Jesus the Messiah who bore upon his shoulders all sin and rebellion and this includes the sin of non-therapeutic abortion, which is murder. The woman, and the man who must not be excluded being equally guilty in this matter, who recognize what they have done and repent before God can find the guilt of this sin removed and find in the Lord Jesus the peace (Shalom) of God which transcends all human understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
After all the Lord Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance that He might have mercy on them, forgive their sin and cleanse them from all unrighteousness when they repent and believe on Him whose shed blood has fully atoned for all of their sin. (Isaiah 55:6-8) (Luke 5:32) (Romans 3:21-26) (1 John 1:7-9) America might be a great nation in its own eyes and in the eyes of many other nations jealous of its power and prominence in the world but God Himself says; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” (Proverbs 14:34 NIV) God punished His very own people Israel for the wicked practice of sacrificing innocent babies on the pagan altars of Molech which was in fact sacrificing to demons. (Deuteronomy 32:16-17) If God did this will He not punish those who sacrifice their unborn babies on the pagan altars of the abortion clinics for the sake of convenience? No doubt demonic powers are also involved in this practice.
When you look at the statistics in America since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision 47 years ago and the fact that there have been an estimated 61,628,584 abortions that have destroyed the lives of unborn children, this number means there are more than 2,362 abortions daily and 98 abortions per hour in the United States. Can anyone say that God will not bring America into judgement for this sin or murder? If God punished Israel when they went into this practice of sacrificing babies on pagan altars will He spare America for sacrificing babies on the altars of the abortion clinics? It is time for the people of America and from all of those nations that promote and perpetrate this murderous act to turn again in repentance and faith to their creator, He who bled and died for their sins in the Messiah our Lord Jesus to reconcile the world to Himself. (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Only in this way can America and the western democracies practicing non-therapeutic abortion be spared the judgement of God. As Jeremiah the prophet writes; “The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.” (Jeremiah 8:20) Sadly, for America the die of judgement may well be cast over its practice of non-therapeutic abortion. Has the axe of God’s righteous judgement already been laid to the root of this great tree of democracy and freedom?
