Following the downing of a US drone and President Trump calling off retaliatory airstrikes against Iranian targets, the US has instead conducted online cyber-attacks against an Iranian intelligence group that American officials believe helped plan the attacks against oil tankers in recent weeks. Whether the cyber-attacks against Iran can extend to the disabling of the Iranian Missile technology remains to be seen. Iran may well gain nuclear capability if the EU can push through a nuclear deal such as we saw with the Obama Administration. Now President Trump has ordered the imposition of more crippling sanctions against Iranian. There is no doubt that Iran is seeking to flex its military muscles in light of its hard pressed economy with sanctions against its oil exports in full swing. In the Persian Gulf and the surrounding area since May this year we have seen how Iran has been taunting the United States and especially targeting Saudi Arabia.
On May 12, 2019 saw the explosions in the United Emirates Port of Fujairah and this month on June 13, 2019 we saw two oil tankers struck in the Gulf of Oman. The Iranians failed to shoot down an American drone as it surveyed the attack. Later the United States provided detailed evidence that Iran was involved including fingerprints. Undoubtedly Iran does not want other countries including the United States exporting oil especially the Saudis. The very next day on June 14, 2019 The United States released video footage showing Iranian special forces removing an unexploded mine from one of the damaged oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. The air forces of both the United States and Saudi Arabia, aware of Iran’s growing threat to the whole Middle-eastern Region, carried out a joint exercise over the Persian Gulf. The Persian Gulf exports approximately 18.2 million barrels of oil per day; approximately 17 million barrels per day transit through the Strait of Hormuz in tankers.
A few days ago on June 20, 2019 we saw Iran shoot down a highly sophisticated American drone over international waters in the Straits of Hormuz. While President Trump backed of the attack on Iran at the last minute it has come to light that he thought the best way to deal with this rogue nation was to use a cyber-attack. Added to all their attacks Iran has targeted Saudi Arabia. On May 14, 2019 a drone, sent by the Houthis, the Iranian proxy militia in Yemen, bombed two pumping stations in Saudi Arabia on the strategic pipelines in Dawadmi and Afeef. Then on May 22, 2019 a drone launched by Houthi fighters struck a Saudi arms depot in Najran Domestic Airport. On June 7, 2019 two cars bombs targeted the Saudi city of Jeddah, also the home to the U.S. Consulate. The attack caused injuries. Yet again on June 11, 2019 the Saudi Arabia’s air defence forces intercepted two drones launched by the Houthis targeting Khamis Mushait. The very next day on June 12, 2019 a cruise missile hit Abha International Airport outside the Saudi city of Khamis-Mushait injuring 26, including three women and two children in the arrivals terminal. On June 17, 2019 Saudi forces intercepted two explosive-laden drones, one targeting a civilian area in the Saudi city of Abha and the other in Yemeni airspace as it approached the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
On June 19, 2019 the Saudi led coalition fighting in Yemen said missiles fired by Houthis landed near a desalinization plant near the Saudi city of Jizan. The Houthis said it was a cruise missile aimed at a power plant in Jizan. In the Yemen the Houthis, Iran’s proxy, shot down a U.S. drone in the Yemeni western coast of Al Hudaydah. Then on June 17, 2019 Iranian experts, along with Houthi militants were killed in a failed attempt to launch a ballistic missile outside of the Yemeni capital of Sana’s at the Al-Daylami air base. Once again, on June 19, 2019 a drone sent from Yemen to Saudi Arabia was intercepted by the Saudi air defences over Yemen’s Hajjah province. It is clear that the Iranians have the Saudis in their missile sites! The Saudis are running sacred of Iran and this is most probably why the Saudis value their alliance with the United States. In the light of Iran’s proxy war and support of global terrorism why would the EU or even the British government for that matter still want to support Iran’s nuclear programme? Iran is a definite threat to the peace of whole Middle-eastern region and to the west, especially in Europe. Israel knows this more than any other country as Iran has made it clear that they want to destroy the Jewish State.
Having said these things the Bible tells us that the oil reserves underneath the deserts of Saudi Arabia will burn in the future and not be quenched and that it will be God’s judgement for the way the Saudis have treated Israel and by inclusion and extension faithful Christians. As Isaiah the prophet writes; “For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion. Its streams shall be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch (oil). It shall not be quenched night or day; It’s smoke shall ascend forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever and ever.” (Isaiah 34:8-10) Edom is located in Southern Jordan but also sweeps down into Saudi Arabia. Ezekiel tells us that Teman and Dedan are located in Edom (Ezekiel 25:12-14) Teman and Dedan today would be located in Saudi Arabia. Prophetically Edom is Saudi Arabia the heart of the Muslim world.
The Apostle John writes. “For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’ “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’ “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” (Revelation 18:15-20)
Fundamentalist Jihad minded Islam sees Saudi Arabia as a harlot that has compromised with the west. Iran, being militant Islamic fundamentalists, wants to see Saudi Arabia along with its oil destroyed. This is why Iran is fighting a proxy war against the Saudis. One factor is a religious matter and the other factor is economic being the oil that the Saudis export. With the crippling sanctions against Iran it has to destroy the competition. Once Mecca is burned with fire along with the Kaaba and its black stone, worshipped and venerated by Muslims around the world, there will be a spiritual vacuum into which I am inclined to think will step the prophesied Mahdi of Islam, the Caliph of the whole Muslim world. He will be the man of sin who will ultimately sit in God’s Temple to proclaim himself as God incarnate in the flesh. (2 Thessalonians 2:4) He will be a military leader bent on conquest who will engage in military campaigns (Jihad) and his ultimate goal will be Jerusalem where he will meet his demise. (Daniel 11:36-45)
The Iranian regime is waiting for the Mahdi to come who will lead the Muslim nations in a global Jihad against the west and against all who are not in submission to Islam and even those Muslim countries that have compromised with the west as they see it. Saudi Arabia is the great harlot within Islamic fundamentalism. This ‘harlot’ we are told will be burned with fire. The apostle John writes; “Then he (the angel) said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns (kings over kingdoms) which you saw on the beast (the empire of Islam), these will hate the harlot (Mecca in Saudi Arabia), make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire (missiles). For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth” (Mecca/Saudi Arabia) (Revelation 17:15-18)
There is no doubt then that fundamentalist Islam sees Saudi Arabia as the harlot of Islam. The Islamic beast empire of the Antichrist will buck the harlot off from its back and burn it with fire. God will have put it in their hearts to do this. (Revelation 17:16-18) Ultimately, Iran will attack Israel and be repelled by the IDF but return with the Turkish led invasion of Israel. (Daniel 10:12-14, 20) (Ezekiel 38:5) The Iranian military forces will fall on the mountains of Israel along with the forces of the Turkish Antichrist and of all the armies of the nations that have accompanied them. (Ezekiel 38:18-23; 39:1-6, 17-20) (Zechariah 14:12-13) After He has come back, The Messiah Himself, our Lord Jesus, will wage a campaign against Islam and destroy it from the face of the earth as He avenges His persecuted saints and defends Israel. (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Revelation 19:11-21) (Isaiah 31:5) (Zechariah 12:8) In Saudi Arabia they are still killing faithful Christians. As John writes concerning this harlot city; “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” (Revelation 18:20)***
*** P.S. Some see Mystery Babylon, the Mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth as the City of New York while others see it as Rome the heart of the Roman Catholic Church. Yet others see this city as referring to a global antichrist government system. Having said this we must always keep in mind that Bible prophecy is centred in the Middle-east and virtually all of the countries specifically mentioned by name in the Bible related to prophecy are all Islamic today. The Bible tells us that this city is in a desert by the sea and that its destruction is heard at the red Sea. New York and Rome are not located in a desert. Mecca is a city in a desert by the Red Sea that trades via the sea. Its religious roots go all the way back to the Babylon of Nimrod who built the Tower of Babel with a global empire in view. Today you have the clock tower in Mecca that overlooks the Kaaba, the home of the Black Stone. The Clock Towered structure is called “Mt Babel.” At the peak of the pinnacle of the Clock Tower is the crescent moon, the symbol of Islam and of the Arabic moon-god of war. In the skirts of Saudi Arabia is the blood of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth. (Revelation 17:6; 18:24) Islam is in virtually every country of the world today and shedding the blood of untold millions of people.
