Global Politics!
President Trump’s decision to pull out American forces from Syria has taken everyone by surprise sending shock waves through the Kurdish forces in Syria and the leaders in Israel. Even though there are still around 5,000 American troops in Iraq it may well be that President Trump will pull them out as well for financial gain as he considers the huge financial commitment required to keep them stationed there that could be redirected to sustain and support American interests on their home soil. He needs massive amounts of money to build the security wall between the united States and Mexico and has made it clear that he is somewhat ‘tired’ of the US being the global ‘police force’ as it were and investing billions of dollars to keep them in the countries where they have been stationed. President Trump is a business man more than he is a politician and is well known for doing ‘deals’ of one sort or another within the business world and has transferred the concept of doing ‘deals’ into the arena of global politics.
The invasion will come
Why did President Trump suddenly withdraw the 2,000 American troops from Syria? It would seem that America’s economical interests come before its commitments to its professed allies being the Kurds fighting ISIS in Syria and the Israelis fighting Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran with Turkey and Russia ‘making waves’ in Syria. It is also clear that Islamic forces in that whole region are gathering around Turkey for an invasion of Israel. If you combine the armies of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, The Sudan, Libya, Ethiopia and Egypt a 200 million strong Islamic army would not be a problem to field for the Caliph or Mahdi of Islam. (Revelation 9:16) With the Caliphate in view President Erdogan has been ‘globetrotting’ through Islamic countries raising supporters for the cause of Islam. Clearly he is positioning himself to be the next global leader of the Muslim World.
A weapons sale
It is most certain that President Trump knows about this but for the sake of financial advantage for America is turning a ‘blind-eye’ as it were to Turkey’s agenda for a global caliphate because of a proposed $3.5 billion dollar deal with Turkey. According to a report on CNBC News on the 18th December 2018 the headline read; “A messy multibillion-dollar weapon sale between Turkey, Russia and the US just got more complicated” The sub headers read; “Turkey wants Russia’s S-400 missile system, America’s Patriot missile system, and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jet. Russia’s S-400, a mobile long-range surface-to-air missile system, cannot be operated alongside the Patriot system or the F-35. The Kremlin says it will press ahead with delivering the S-400 to Ankara despite the possible sale of the Patriot system. According to the report Russia will deliver its S-400 missile defence system to Turkey despite the U.S. State Department’s decision to sell a rival platform to Ankara for $3.5 billion.”
Financial benefits?
Clearly it seems that this may be the reason for President Trump’s phone call with President Erdogan that resulted in the withdrawal of America forces from Syria? Who knows what will be next? Possibly US troops will also be withdrawn from Iraq again at the behest of President Erdogan as he seeks to influence President Trump, while the man from Turkey, through stealth, seeks to expand the Revived Turkish Ottoman Caliphate throughout the region, a Turkish Ottoman expansionism that President Trump seems to be ignoring for the sake of economic and financial benefits for America. There is no doubt that President Trump has the security and economic welfare of American citizens on his heart but somehow conveniently reneging on his support for Israel because of the financial benefits gained from dealing with Turkey, Israel’s sworn enemy!
Trust in the LORD
In all of this, God is trying to get Israel’s attention and to get them as a nation to look to Him alone for their support, security, protection and provision and to recognize and embrace their messiah our Lord Jesus. When will Israel learn to say; “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” (Psalm 20:7) When will they learn about the LORD that; “His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of the warrior; the LORD delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.” (Psalm 147:10-11) Tragically for Israel they will be abandoned in the end by those whom they have trusted in for support against their enemies. The Egypt of this world will prove to be “like a splintered reed of a staff that pierces a man’s hand when he leans upon it.” (Isaiah 36:6) Their covenant with death made with their so called supporters and protectors will not stand when they are betrayed into the hands of their enemies by those in whom they trusted. This will, happen because of Israel’s persistent rejection of their Messiah and the salvation He has provided for them through the atoning blood of the Messiah. (Isaiah 28:14-19)
David their King
Can President Trump even be trusted to defend Israel against Turkish, Syrian, Iranian and Russian aggression? It is going to take the Time of Jacob’s Trouble to bring Israel as a nation to fully surrender to their Messiah at the foot of His cross. (Zechariah 12:10-14) They will go into the time of Great Tribulation never equalled in past history and never to be equalled in the future but will be saved out of it at the end. (Matthew 24:21-22) (Jeremiah 30:1-7) Once all of their enemies have been destroyed on the mountains of Israel by their Messiah on His return, He will reign over them in the character of King David having destroyed the yoke of oppression that was upon His brethren. After this His exiled brethren will return.
“Fear not O Jacob My servant!”
Indeed Jeremiah the prophet writes; “It shall come about on that day,’ declares the LORD of hosts, ‘that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves. But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. ‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant,’ declares the LORD, ‘ And do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar And your offspring from the land of their captivity. And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, And no one will make him afraid.” (Jeremiah 30:8-10)
