In today’s edition of the Gatestone Institute online publication a headline read; “Erdoganistan: The New Islamic Superpower? The article focused on the rise of the man from Turkey and his burning ambition to be the first Caliph of a resurrected Turkish Ottoman Empire with an agenda to see Islam established on a global scale. Some of the main highlights from the article are as follows… In the Caucasus, Turkey has just supported the Azerbaijani war against Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh in order to create a Turkish Islamic corridor between Azerbaijan, Turkey and other Muslim countries. While the new sultan extends his influence to Syria, Libya and the Caucasus, he also extends it to the Mediterranean. For pacifist Europe, that sea only exists when it comes to bringing in migrants.
According to Michel Sifaoui, europe1.fr, February 7, 2021 he states; “”What the Turkish regime is doing is using its diaspora as a Trojan horse”. In a recent report last year by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se), March 2021 it stated; “In Turkey under Erdogan, school textbooks have been rewritten to refer to Jews and Christians as gavur, “infidels.” Earlier Turkish textbooks referred to the members of the two religions as the “people of the Book.” The curriculum adopts an anti-American stance, and shows sympathy for the motives of ISIS and al-Qaeda. Back in October 2018 he publically stated; “”We are a large family of 300 million people from the Adriatic to the Great Wall of China.”
On July 24, in 2020, Erdogan challenged Europe and the West by re-appropriating what had been, for a thousand years, the largest church in Eastern Christianity namely the Hagia Sofia, the Vatican of Eastern Orthodox Christendom. The lack of response on the part of the West most likely convinced him that the moment was right. No one paid attention or countered the act. In Africa, for the past 15 years, for instance, the Turkish president has spearheaded a mega-relaunch of his alliances. Since 2009, Turkey has increased the number of embassies in Africa from 12 to 42. Erdogan has even been a frequent visitor, making trips to more than 20 capitals.
The government has set itself the goal over the next few years of doubling Turkey’s trade volume with Africa to $50 billion; about a third of its current trade with the European Union. Clearly the man from Turkey envisions a unified Islamic superpower. Ankara is on a collision course with Greece and Cyprus over who has the right to exploit the eastern Mediterranean’s oil and gas deposits. While the new sultan extends his influence to Syria, Libya and the Caucasus, he also extends it within the Mediterranean. For pacifist Europe, that sea only exists when it comes to bringing in migrants. The report added; “Europe, the US, NATO and the Free World might start worrying. Erdogan seems aiming to be the new Islamist wolf in sheep’s clothing.” (End of extracts)
Now according to the Word of God the Antichrist will arise from Turkey. He will spearhead the invasion of Israel and lead a 200 million strong Islamic army to wage a Jihad unlike anything seen in previous history. Several things to notice…
Firstly, in Ezekiel 38:1-7 the main players in the invasion force coming from the geographical regions of Magog, Meshech, Tubal and Beth-Togarmah are all located in modern day Turkey and are clearly marked on ancient world maps as such.
Secondly, in the Book of Revelation the seven Churches were all located in modern day Turkey. Why would the Lord Jesus write to these seven assemblies in Turkey? Historically they were seven literal assemblies but prophetically represent the Body of the Messiah corporately which in the last days will have to confront the resurrected Turkish Ottoman Empire which will persecute faithful Jews and Christians. (Revelation 13:5-7)
Thirdly, in His letter to the assembly at Pergamum the Lord Jesus says that Pergamum was “the city where Satan has his throne” and “where Satan lives.” Antipas the faithful martyr is also mentioned and his martyrdom prefigures and points to the martyrdom of believers at the hands of the beast empire of the Antichrist. (Revelation 2:12-13) It was at Pergamum where emperor worship in the Roman Empire really kicked in with the Emperor Augustus declaring himself to be a god. Just before the first coming of the Messiah our Lord Jesus it was Augustus who had a census to count the number of people throughout the Roman occupied world. (Luke 2:1)
Before the Second Coming of the Messiah our Lord Jesus, the Antichrist will count heads of all who are within the boundaries of his empire and they will be marked electronically in order to be able to buy or sell. (Revelation 13:16-17) Turkey has been moving in this direction since 2014 and it is well advanced today in surveillance and identifying Turkish citizens. The Islamic world is not backwards where electronic technology, tracking and surveillance is concerned.
With the European political leadership in disarray and America rapidly losing its reputation as a super power because of the Biden Administration, and with Russia losing its prominence as a leading economic and super power, the man from Turkey is rallying and wooing the whole Islamic world to gather under his war banner to wage a Jihad against Israel and Christendom, the western democracies and all those nations that have religions other than Islam.
While we see China rising economically and militarily it can only field 1.6 million troops, however, under the man from Turkey Islam could field 200 million soldiers. If you take Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and the Turkic speaking Islamic Southern states of the former Soviet Union combined, it would be possible to field an army that size. The Ezekiel 38 invasion force will include Libya and Sudan and other African nations affiliated with Islam. In fact the apostle John heard the number of this end-time Islamic army as numbering 200 million troops with awesome firepower at their disposal. This will be a Jihad that will see a third of the world’s population killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulphur that clearly describe the effects of missiles and possibly nuclear detonations in various cities around the globe. (Revelation 9:17-18)
During this time faithful Jews and Christians will be persecuted and martyred for their loyalty to the Lord Jesus. (Revelation 13:7) (Daniel 7:21, 25; 8:12; 12:7) In fact in every Islamic country faithful believers in the Lord Jesus are being persecuted already. In Daniel Chapter 11:36-45 we see the man of sin, the Antichrist taking his ride across the pages of future history but coming to his end at Jerusalem with no one to help him, an end not dispatched by any human agency, but by the supernatural power of the Messiah who will put an end to this desolator! (Daniel 2:34-35, 44-45; 7:11-14, 26-27; 9:27b; 11:45) (2 Thessalonians 2:8) (Revelation 19:20)
After this the saints will inherit the Kingdom! As the prophet Daniel writes; “I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favour of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.” (Daniel 7:21-22)
And again he writes; “He (the Antichrist) will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time (three and a half years). But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever. Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’” (Daniel 7:25-28)
If you are a believer in the Messiah our Lord Jesus, justified, redeemed, sanctified, forgiven and washed through His atoning and cleansing blood then whatever happens to you in this life whether it is good or not so good, your future in His coming Messianic kingdom is assured!
