“Consolidating the Caliphate”

Last week Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made back-to-back visits to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, seeking to expand Turkish influence in the Middle East and North Africa and undoubtedly keeping in view his deep desire to see the resurrection of the Turkish Ottoman Caliphate of His Turkish forbears.

The man from Turkey met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo last Wednesday, where the two countries signed cooperation agreements and spoke about regional issues, including Gaza, Somaliland, and the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.

Their growing concern over the strength of Israel and its willingness to engage in independent security operations to protect its citizens and the minority communities such as the Druze and the Christians and support for the Kurds in Syria has led the leaders of Turkey and Egypt to increasingly cooperate against what they perceive as Israeli military ascendancy in the region as a result of the October 7, 2023 Gaza War and the 12-day Israel-Iran War last June.

Of course the hypocrisy of their reasoning is that if any of their respective nations were attacked as Israel was attacked on October 7, 2023 there would be an immediate response.

However, Israel is criticised and condemned by other Islamic nations and the international community for defending itself and those whom have allied themselves with Israel, such as the Druze communities in Syria, the decedents of Jethro, Moses father in law.

At their meeting in Cairo both Erdogan and el-Sisi issued statements on Gaza, Sudan, Somaliland and Iran that demonstrated a unified stance, particularly against Israel. In a joint declaration following the meeting, both governments affirmed their commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity, stability, and territorial integrity. They also condemned what in their opinion were Israeli violations of Syria’s sovereignty and integrity.

Erdoğan’s trip to Cairo came one day after a similar visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), the de facto leader of the kingdom.

In that meeting, the two leaders spoke about their alignment on various regional issues, particularly their rejection of the IDF’s actions in Syria. Of course the man from Turkey wants to have Syria under his control so that he has access to invade Israel.

The Israelis of course know what he is up to, hence they are watching very closely what is happening in Syria. Erdoğan’s support for the regime of the self-appointed President of Syria and his forces are well under Turkey’s authority and control.

Last year in 2025, President Erdoğan visited Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Italy, Vatican City, Northern Cyprus, Albania, Hungary, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, China, Qatar, the United States, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, and South Africa.

He has also visited Libya, Tunisia, Sudan, Algeria and Chad. Clearly he wants a Turkish presence in these countries. We know that he is working to establish a resurrected Turkish Ottoman Caliphate with the same borders as the Turkish Ottoman Empire ruled over at the zenith of its power.

Historically The Ottoman Turks ruled for over six centuries, from around 1299 until the dissolution of the empire in 1922.

At its zenith, the Ottoman Empire controlled large parts of south-eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, including regions that are now part of modern-day Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, Iraq, Syria, and parts of the Arabian Peninsula, among others. The empire reached its greatest extent between 1520 and 1566 under Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

We also know that approximately 85% to 90% of the world’s Muslim population, which is around 1.7 to 1.8 billion people, identify as Sunni. This makes Sunni Islam the largest branch of Islam globally.

Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the Syrian regime under al-Julani are all Sunni, with Sunnis making up 90% or more of the population in these nations. Other countries with significant Sunni populations include Kuwait, Yemen, and the UAE.

We also know that the man from Turkey along with most of the Islamic world does not like Israel. Erdogan has accused Israel of “oppressive” policies towards the ‘Palestinians,’ particularly regarding Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem. He emphasizes the need to preserve Jerusalem’s status as the capital of Palestine and advocates for a two-state solution as does the international community, both Islamic and non-Islamic nations, something that God opposes!

In March 2025, Erdogan prayed for the destruction of Israel, expressing a desire for “Zionist Israel” to be “destroyed and devastated.” This statement reflects his longstanding antagonism towards Israel and support for groups like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Erdogan has a history of harsh rhetoric against Israel, labelling it a “terrorist state” and accusing it of committing genocide against ‘Palestinians. ‘

Of course the mainstream media for the most part support his stance while they hardly ever mention the Armenian genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks!

The truth is that the word ‘Palestine’ was an invention of the Romans that took the name from the Philistines, Israel’s ancient enemies, and renamed the Holy Land as Palestine being a derivation of the name Philistine. God Himself gave Israel their name through the patriarch Jacob when he wrestled with the Pre-existent Messiah before His incarnation (Genesis 32:24-30).

If God calls the Jewish people Israel, if the Word of God calls the Holy land Israel, if the prophets, the apostles and the Lord Jesus Himself when He walked this earth called the Holy land Israel, then those who choose to argue the point argue with God!

As for any “two-state solution” to divide up God’s real-state it is under His judgement and the nations that seek to do this will be severely judged including  those who seek to remove or to change the status of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel (Joel 3:1-3) (Zechariah 12:2-3).

We know from the Word of God in Ezekiel Chapters 38-39 that Islamic armies led by Turkey joined by the armies of non-Islamic nations will all be destroyed on the mountains of Israel (Ezekiel 38:18-39:1-7).

When the Messiah returns to stand once again on the Mount of Olives to rescue the surviving Jewish remnant in the Holy Land He will totally destroy all opposition to Israel and establish the Messianic Millennial Kingdom. (Zechariah 14:1-5) (Joel 3:12-16). As for consolidating the Caliphate it will end in catastrophe!
