(Revelation 17:1-6, 15-18) “Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality.”
And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus….
…And he said to me, “The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled. The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.”
In 2023 the Abrahamic family House will be opened in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. According to an official report online the Abrahamic Family House it said will be a beacon of mutual understanding, harmonious coexistence, and peace among people of faith and goodwill. It will consist of a mosque, church, synagogue, and educational centre to be built on Saadiyat Island, the cultural heart of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. According to the report through its design, it will capture the values shared between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and serve as a powerful platform for inspiring and nurturing understanding and acceptance between people of goodwill. The vision for the Abrahamic Family House originated after the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb back in February 2019.
According to the report it stated this landmark will be a place for learning, dialogue, and worship – open to all and a true reflection of the UAE’s belief in tolerance and hospitality. The report also added that within each of the houses of worship, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about religious services.’ This would include a mixture of the Bible, and experience sacred rituals. A fourth space, not affiliated with any specific religion, will be an educational centre where all people can come together as a single community devoted to mutual understanding and peace.
The Abrahamic Family House will host a variety of programming and events—from daily religious services to international summits. Currently under construction, the project’s anticipated completion date is in 2023 and will be one of several undertakings the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity will advise upon.”
In the Book of Revelation Chapter 17 one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came to the apostle John to show him the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. These ‘waters’ represented nations that were involved with a specific city (Vs. 15, 18) John was also told that the kings of the earth have committed adultery with her and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries (Vs 2). This city John was told was in a desert as the angel empowered by the Holy Spirit carried John away into the desert to view this city. This ‘scarlet’ woman was riding on the back of a beast empire which had seven heads and ten horns. This empire including its coalition of ten nations was supporting the woman.
She was far greater in opulence and splendour than the ancient city of Babylon with its magnificent hanging gardens that was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This city was also described as a city full of wicked utterances, materialistic wealth and splendour and full of spiritual harlotry and unveiled wickedness and sexual perversion of every kind. This woman was the religious component of the beast empire on whose back she rode. She is called “Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth” (Vs 3- 5). She is called the mother of harlots because she is the source of all false religions that have existed down through history, that exist in our world today, and the one who gave birth to them all.
It all started with the Babylon of Nimrod who was the founder and builder of Ancient Assyria and Babylon. This was the original source of Babylon with its wicked, ungodly, satanic mystery religions and a city steeped in the occult. Nimrod of course was the first major type of the Antichrist is the Bible. In fact all of the kings of Assyria and Babylon were types of the Antichrist. The two main ones were Sennacherib king of Assyria and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
Now we are also told that the beast empire with its ten nation confederacy will buck the harlot off from its back and have it for breakfast (Vs. 16-17). The harlot city, primarily the religious component of the beast empire that has ruled over the kings of the earth, will become ‘toast,’ and that by the command of God, why, because the harlot city was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus (Vs.6). Historically the Ancient city of Babylon was never destroyed but atrophied over time. We do know from the Bible that this city of ‘Babylon’ (not Ancient Babylon) is a city in a desert by the Red Sea whose destruction is heard at the Red Sea, a city located in Edom and Teman which were located in Saudi Arabia, the heart of the Muslim Arab world. (Isaiah 49:20-22).
In Ezekiel Chapter 25:12-14 we are told that God will lay waste Edom from Teman to Dedan because of their violence against Israel. In ancient maps of the Middle-East Teman and Dedan were located in the heart of the Saudi Arabian desert. We are also told in the prophet Isaiah that the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense when Edom’s streams will be turned to tar (burning pitch) that will not be quenched, day or night and that its smoke will ascend forever, and that from generation to generation it will lie desolate and that no one will ever pass through it (Isaiah 34:8-10).
In fact we are told that the destruction of this city in the desert that is heard at the Red Sea will be so toxic that the very air will be polluted making the whole region uninhabitable by humans. The sea traders will stand afar off because of the terrifying destruction of this city with which they have traded via the sea (Revelation 18:11-19). The context of these passages of scripture together all refer to the one and the same event being the ultimate fall of the end-time city of Babylon whose destruction is heard at the Red Sea.
It is clear from God’s Word that the beast empire of Islam ruled by the Islamic Antichrist with his ten nation Islamic confederacy hell-bent on propagating militant Islam by violence, will hit Mecca and the Arab kingdoms located on the Saudi Arabian Peninsula, and most likely the United Arab Emirates will be among those kingdoms burned with fire. Missiles more than likely will come across the gulf from Iran.
As Isaiah also prophesies; “This is the burden against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the Negev, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror. A dire vision is declared to me: “The traitor still betrays, and the destroyer still destroys. Go up, O Elam! Lay siege, O Media! I will put an end to all her (Babylon’s) groaning” (Isaiah 21:1-2).
Elam today would be Iran and the Medes would be the Kurds. Just as Persia conquered Babylon but did not destroy the city, so Iran will hit Mecca with missiles and actually destroy it with fire. Mecca is the city in a desert by the Red Sea that deals with the nations dispensing the intoxicating ‘wine’ of its oil exports. When the missiles hit Mecca and most of the other Arab cities located on the Saudi Arabian Peninsula, the oil reserves under the desert of Saudi Arabia will ignite and burn out of control making the Saudi Arabian Peninsula uninhabitable for humans.
Mecca is that harlot city of Islam that is drunk with the blood of the saints. Christians are persecuted and martyred in Saudi Arabia. To the fundamentalist Jihad mindset of militant Islam the Arab states on the Saudi Arabian Peninsula are regarded as the harlot of Islam that rides the back of the beast empire of Islamic fundamentalism which will not compromise its ideology of an Islamic empire of global proportions where Sharia law is the supreme standard and where the creed of the Muslim Brotherhood reigns supreme. The destruction of the harlot is the end goal of Iran, Turkey and of those Islamic nations where Islam ‘rules the roost’ because of its compromise with the west.
It would seem that the harlot is seeking to unite in the United Arab Emirates that will see the three main Monotheistic religions seek to get along while keeping their own religious traditions, a religious amalgamation never seen before in the history of religious co-operation. It will be so infectious that those religions and denominations into ecumenism and interfaith both within Protestantism and Roman Catholicism who have rejected the faith once delivered to the saints and the supreme and absolute authority of the Word of God, and the salvation found only in the Messiah our Lord Jesus, will flock to this Satanic union which the Antichrist, will at first accept and tolerate but when the time is right for his ultimate rule to come at the zenith of its power and geographical boundaries which will be vast, he will unleash his fire power and the harlot will burn!
Babylon is everywhere today! It is in the religious traditions of man and also within wider Christendom. It is in society where the ancient pagan, hedonistic, immoral, and materialistic and pleasure loving lifestyle of Ancient Babylon holds sway over the minds and hearts of millions both within the religious and the secular world. The end-time city of Babylon is a literal city in a literal desert by the Sea and its destruction is heard at the Red Sea. Rome and New York are not cities located in a desert by the Sea. While we as New Covenant Bible believers in our Lord Jesus are surrounded by ‘Babylon’ we are commanded by the Lord to not be spiritually defiled by the Babylon culture which permeates and spiritually pollutes the secular, the business, the domestic and the religious world in which we live. While we are to be in this world we are not to be of this world (John 17:16).
As the prophet Jeremiah proclaims to God’s people; “Flee from Babylon! Escape with your lives! Do not be destroyed in her punishment. For this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; He will pay her what she deserves” (Jeremiah 51:6). As the apostle John also affirms; “I heard another voice from heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive any of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4). Ultimately the beast empire of Islam with its ten nation Islamic confederacy will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings-and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers (Revelation 17:14).
