“Instead of them he will honour a god of fortresses;” (Daniel 11:38a).
Once again the man from Turkey is declaring his desire to see the Turkish Empire expand its territory by conquering the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, either militarily or demographically. According to an online news report the goal of Turkey is the same, being the islands’ capture and capitulation to Islamic rule.
The Turkish media also falsely and repeatedly claims that “152 Greek islands and islets in the Aegean belong to Turkey”. These islands, however, historically and legally, belong to Greece, mainly through the 1924 Treaty of Lausanne, the 1932 Turkish-Italian Agreements and the 1947 Paris Treaty.
Conquest by the sword is the main thrust of Islamic ideology which is warfare according to Islamic scriptures and is a command and obligation on all Muslims without exception, hence we see the crossed curved scimitars pointing upwards on Islamic flags and banners.
Subjugation to Islamic law and governance is an endemic part of Islamic ideology. The ideology of conquest in the ideology of jihad is what drove Ottoman Turks to invade and conquer lands stretching across Asia, Europe and Africa for more than 600 years. Added to this, according to Islamists, Muslim military expansion is an act of Allah’s favour because according to Islam Allah bestows those places upon Muslim conquerors.
The Turkish government’s stance on the Armenian genocide is a bizarre combination of denial and conceit. First, they say that their ancestors did not commit genocide and that it was merely a war of self-defence. Then, they proclaim “they, being the Christians, deserved it” and “if need be, we could do it again.” The Armenian genocide refers to the physical annihilation of ethnic Armenian Christian people living in the Ottoman Empire from spring 1915 through autumn 1916.
There were approximately 1.5 million Armenians living in the Empire. At least 664,000 and possibly as many as 1.2 million died during the genocide. When Erdogan accuses the Israelis of committing genocide in Gaza, which they are not, the man from Turkey is accusing Israel of something that was perpetrated against Christians by Erdogan’s forebears within the Turkish Ottoman Empire.
The US government seems to ignore that Turkey, acting as if it is the successor to the Ottoman Empire, does not stop threatening Greece, Cyprus and Armenia with military invasion. As for the US Congress they would be well advised to reconsider its decision regarding F-16 fighter jet sales to Turkey and this alliance altogether.
However, if the Biden Administration allows Iran to continue fighting its proxy war with Israel and by association the United States then he may well go ahead and do a deal with Turkey anyway. When will the western politicians realise that you cannot make peace with Islam! Once again it is clear that the man from Turkey wants to see the Turkish Ottoman Empire resurrected to become an expansionist empire in the world with himself as the supreme caliph. Islam is at war with the west and 9/11 proved that!
What is happening in Israel will ultimately come to the western nations that do not support Israel. While Russia is fighting in Ukraine and undoubtedly wants to expand its empire, China is becoming a major player and in line to be the next global power if America is hit by missiles from South American countries where Iran will have installed missile silos right under the nose of Biden.
He is in reality Obama’s puppet being the former American President who brokered the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal with Iran knowing full well that the Iranian regime would use those funds to attack Israel. According to Daniel 11:38a the Antichrist will be one who honours “the god of fortresses” which is “Allah,” who, when compared with the God of the Bible, is not the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but a different ‘god.’
Daniel Chapter 11:36-45 describes the character and the military campaign and the conquests of the Antichrist and also tells us about his complete defeat at Jerusalem with no one to help him at the end (11:45). The man from Turkey undoubtedly has his desires fixed on seeing an Islamic empire greater than the historical Turkish Ottoman Empire at the Zenith of its power under the supreme caliph Suleiman the Magnificent.
Suleiman I, commonly known as Suleiman the Magnificent in Western Europe and Suleiman the Lawgiver in his Ottoman realm, was the longest-reigning sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1520 until his death in 1566. Under his administration, the Ottoman Empire ruled over at least 25 million people.
When he is revealed to the world the antichrist, also known as the man of sin in the Bible, will be indwelt personally by Satan himself and when this happens the whole Muslim world will rally to his war banner. He and his vast Islamic empire, and possibly the armies of other nations as well, will come across the dried up Euphrates River with a 200 million Islamic armed force and WW3 will commence killing a third of mankind undoubtedly with nuclear weapons.
This war will be the judgement of God on a Messiah hating, Messiah rejecting world, that refuses to repent of its wickedness (Revelation 9: 13-21). The end-game for this army will be the city of Jerusalem and this huge army that has attacked the Holy City will be destroyed by fire on the mountains of Israel (Ezekiel 38:21-22; 39:4-6).
Daniel also tells us concerning this man of sin who will proclaim himself to be God in the rebuilt temple at Jerusalem, that; “he (this man of sin) will pitch his tent or make his headquarters at the beautiful holy mountain being the temple mount between the Mediterranean and the Dead Seas. It can be rendered as “the tents of his palace” denoting a large and sumptuous tent, or collection of tents, which would form naturally the headquarters of an oriental or middle-eastern king.
The word for ‘palace’ (appéden) occurs only here in the Old Testament and it is a Persian word, denoting properly a large hall or throne-room. This would most probably be located on the grounds of the temple precinct itself next to the Temple. However, Daniel also tells us concerning the Antichrist “yet he will come to his end, and no one will help him” (Daniel 11:45).
When we see the portentous events transpiring in the Middle-East it is very clear we are right at the end of this present age. In one hour everything is going to change when the man of sin is revealed! Our hope as New Covenant believers is not to be in this world but in the Second Coming of the Messiah our Lord Jesus to destroy all opposition and to inaugurate His Messianic reign over the surviving nations of the world.
No matter what happens to us in this world, whether we are destined to live or to die, we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! (2 Corinthians 5:8) At the sound of the last trumpet blast the Messiah our Lord Jesus will come back to earth and at that moment we will be completely transformed from mortality to immortality in the twinkling of an eye to co-reign with Him forever in our resurrected, eternal, glorified, immortal and indestructible bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51-57) (Revelation 5:9-10) (2 Timothy 2:12).
God’s judgements are already in the earth and increasing in intensity and frequency. Very difficult times lay ahead for Israel, for the Body of Messiah present on earth and for the entire world, however, if we are sheltering by faith under the atoning and cleansing blood of the Messiah our Lord Jesus to save and protect us from God’s wrath, then, when that wrath of God is poured out, we will never experience it.
As Rabbi the apostle Paul writes; “Since we have been justified (put into a right relationship with God) by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him” (Romans 5:9). Paul also wrote; “God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus the Messiah…who rescues us from the coming wrath” (1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9).
We are destined for tribulation but not for wrath!
