(Revelation 11:15b) “And He Will Reign Forever and Ever.”
Right now Israel as a sovereign nation in its own right is fighting for its very survival as we see the political leaders of nations globally turning against Israel and calling for a Palestinian State in the very heart of Israel as if somehow this will bring peace to the Middle-East. The three latest nations calling for a Palestinian state and recognition of this State by the United Nations are Spain, Ireland and Norway. Israeli forces are at present fighting in Rafah as they seek to take out the remaining forces of Hamas.
In the north Hezbollah are ‘upping the ante’ on sending rockets into Israel. Sixty thousand Israelis have been forced out of their homes on the border with Israel and Lebanon fearing another October massacre that occurred on October 7th that saw mass slaughter of Israel men, women and children by the barbarity and remorseless Hamas butchers accompanied by ‘Palestinian’ civilians. And then tunnels were found going from Gaza into Egypt clearly indicating Egypt’s compliance with and support of Hamas.
The United States and most of the political leaders in the western democracies are all supporting the concept of a so called ‘Palestinian state’ as if somehow this will bring a peace to the Middle-East. Even Australia is in full support of this so called ‘Palestinian state.’ Added to this you have the ICC (International Criminal Court) that have issued warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence chief, and also for three Hamas leaders for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, although it is doubtful that the Hamas leaders will ever be brought to trial. Hopefully they will be eliminated by the IDF.
In light of the political leaders across Europe and in Great Britain and in Australia and in the United States the fact that they are all pushing for a Palestinian state clearly puts these political leaders on the side of Hamas, that is the reality. Even in Judea and Samaria, the very heartland of Israel, ‘Palestinian’ Arabs are supporting Hamas. Now Isaiah the prophet declares the Word of the LORD to these rebellious nations of the world when he writes;
“Oh, the raging of many nations—they rage like the raging sea! Oh, the uproar of the peoples— they roar like the roaring of great waters! Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters, when He rebukes them they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills, like tumbleweed before a gale. In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who plunder us” (Isaiah 17:12-14). Let’s now look briefly at this prophecy…
(Vs.12) “Oh, the raging of many nations—they rage like the raging sea! Oh, the uproar of the peoples— they roar like the roaring of great waters!
In the Bible the raging sea represents the nations in turmoil (Luke 21:25). The time is coming when the nations globally will rage against the LORD and plot against Him and His people but in vain, a rage that is clearly perceivable today in the world. The kings of the earth, the political leaders of all the nations will take their stand against the LORD and against His anointed one the Messiah our Lord Jesus and seek to break their Lordship over them.
We see this today as the nations globally all turn against Israel and by this showing their contempt and distain for the Triune God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and their physical and spiritual descendants and this fact also indicating that the Second Coming of the Messiah is coming sooner rather than later. When you consider the stand of the political leaders of the nations against Israel it is not logical humanly speaking. Why are they doing this?
Any other sovereign nation has the right to defend itself except for Israel? The Jewish people are being accused of genocide against the Arabs living in Gaza which is a blatant lie out of the pit of hell, and being slandered as apartheid and occupiers. Anti-Jewish protests are happening across college campuses and Universities in many cities in America, Great Britain, and Europe and in Australia. The fact is that Jews are hated simply because they are Jews!
Why are they so hated more than any other nation in the world? The answer is that in the unseen spirit realm in the atmosphere just above the circumference of the earth Satan and his principalities and powers of wickedness in that unseen realm are exercising a vicious and callous vendetta against Israel and her spiritual offspring, the Body of Messiah spiritually grafted into the Commonwealth Israel (Romans 11:17-18) (Ephesians 2:11-22) (Revelation 12:1-6, 13-17). Why?
Because the Messiah a Jew who defeated these principalities and powers of wickedness and their overlord Satan at the cross dooming them forever to the lake of fire which was created for them after they had rebelled against God and were cast out of heaven down to earth! (Colossians 2:15) (Matthew 25:41). Also Israel gave birth to the Messiah who will one day rule over the nations with a rod of iron and the sceptre of His kingship in Judah in the City of Jerusalem will remain over Israel, and the people shall be gathered to Him in obedience to Him and to bow down to worship and reverence Him (Genesis 49:9-10) (Isaiah 9:6-7).
The other factor to keep in view is that God is using this growing global anti-Semitism to bring His scattered people back home to Israel for their encounter with the Messiah which the prophet Zechariah tells us about (Zechariah 12:10-13:1). Satan also knows that salvation is from the Jews (John 4:22). Satan and his cronies from Hades hate the Messiah and those whom the Messiah saves from Satan’s clutches! Satan is today making a last ditch stand and is gathering the nations against God and against the Messiah and their offspring the Jewish people and the Body of Messiah spiritually grafted into the Olive Tree Israel because Satan knows that his time is now short (Revelation 12: 12). Having said this, our Triune God will say to Satan and his cronies “this far and no more!” And then we read…
(Vs.13-14) “Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters, when He rebukes them they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills, like tumbleweed before a gale. In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who plunder us.”
Today, more than at any other time in history the nations of the whole world are raging against God, against His Son, against Israel and against the Body of Messiah; however, the psalmist also tells us that God on His sovereign throne in heaven laughs at their puny efforts to overthrow Him and His kingdom. He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath and says to them that even from all of eternity He has already installed His Son as Lord in Jerusalem over Israel and their offspring and Satan knows this and has known it from the Garden of Eden where eternal judgement was pronounced on him (Psalm 2:4-10) (Genesis 3:13-15).
Today God is warning the nations but they are not listening! Their political leaders are not wise and refuse to serve the LORD with fear and rejoicing in Him and refusing to kiss the Son and make their peace with Him, hence they are heading for destruction because His wrath can flare up suddenly and without warning and they can be destroyed in their way (Psalm 2:10-12).
The nations are going to attack Israel and we are told that two thirds of the Jewish people will fall in the land of Israel, but a third will survive, all those who will respond to the Messiah when He returns and in that day, at the rebuke of the Messiah coming again in all of His glory and splendour, He will cause Israel’s enemies to flee far away in abject terror, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills, like tumbleweed before a gale.
In the evening, sudden terror will come upon them as the terror and thick darkness came upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians when God stuck Egypt with plagues! Before the morning, they will be all gone! This will be the lot of all who dare to loot and to plunder Israel. Yes the Time of Jacob’s Trouble will come to Israel and to the whole Gentile world, but Israel will survive and a faithful remnant will come forth refined like silver and having been tested like gold, and they will call on the name of the LORD and He will answer them speedily to avenge His elect and to declare to them that they are His people and they will say He is our God! (Zechariah 13:8-9).
As for the nations that have assaulted and desecrated Israel they will all be sent into the pit of hell to join Satan and all those who have followed him. In that day those who have loved and supported Israel will be spared but those who have not supported Israel will be damned forever! (Matthew 25:31-46). In that day after the Messiah has returned He will sit on the throne of David at Jerusalem and the redeemed of Israel will extol and worship Him who has saved them out of the clutches of Satan, and the survivors from the nations that have sorely afflicted them.
Indeed the prophet Jeremiah prophecies about this end time event in Israel when he says;
“This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring My people Israel and Judah back from captivity and restore them to the land I gave their forefathers to possess,’ says the Lord.”
These are the words the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah: “This is what the Lord says: “‘Cries of fear are heard—terror, not peace. Ask and see: Can a man bear children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labour every face turned deathly pale? How awful that day will be! None will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.
“‘In that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will break the yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will foreigners enslave them. Instead, they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them” (Jeremiah 30:1-9).
The nations may roar against God, against his anointed Messiah and God’s redeemed people. However, when the Lion of Judah roars, the jungle of this world will shake at His roar and the nations will be His! Indeed in that day the seventh and last trumpet will sound announcing the arrival of the Messiah our Lord Jesus as we are told about in the Book of Revelation.
“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15).
