(Isaiah 40:15) “Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket”
Earlier this week Israel held the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony for fallen soldiers at the Yad LaBanim Memorial in Jerusalem. At the same time Russia was hosting an anti-Israel meeting at the UN Security Council hosted by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergov Lavrov who insisted on holding this meeting in Moscow on the same day as Israel’s Remembrance Memorial Day.
He knew that this was a very important day on the Jewish calendar for Israel. He was hosting his counterparts from Iran, Syria and Turkey. Lavrov also knew that Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan would be somewhat pre-occupied with the Remembrance Memorial Day. Gilad Erdan sought to have the day changed and wrote to the appropriate person in New York at the UN about this matter but the UN refused to change the date for the meeting. Israel’s envoy was greatly disturbed by the critical nature of the meeting especially being conducted on the Day of Remembrance in Israel. It was the Security Council’s session on the Palestinian question no doubt engineered and planned to “bash Israel” yet again and to rub salt into the wound by holding the meeting on the Israeli Day of Remembrance.
Gilad Erdon read out the names of Israelis killed in the past year to protest making it clear where he stood concerning Israel, and lit a candle of remembrance to honour the fallen Israelis and then he walked out refusing to be a part of this obvious meeting to denigrate Israel, and who can blame him with such a demonically inspired organization as the UN with its unrelenting criticism of Israel! Before the Israeli Envoy to the UN walked out the Palestinian representatives had lashed Jerusalem for violating the UN Charter which is all for a Palestinian State.
They further added that if Israel had complied with the demands of the UNSC then there would have been peace long ago in Israel, which of course was an outright lie and that by Satan’s presence at this meeting doing his filthy underhanded work through those whom he controls when it comes to the matter of Israel in the UN. The US also slammed Israel citing the recent AL-AQSA Mosque violence in Jerusalem, a tactical move on the part of the US to also condemn Israel and curry favour with the Head Honchos at the UN!
Right now Russia and Iran are joining hands, not in a friendship as such, but having an economic agenda in view, as Iran supplies thousands of drones to Russia to fight in their war with Ukraine, while Russia supplies Iran with Jet fighters and with the knowhow on nuclear technology. Both Iran and Russia are heavily involved in Syria and in reality all stand united against Israel.
The meeting at the UN Security Council supposedly was to discuss the so called security of the Middle-East Region and to try to patch up the somewhat strained relationship between Syria with Turkey. The four sides also emphasized the importance of the continuation of the four-party meetings “to ensure and maintain stability in Syria and the region as a whole.” Having said this, judging by the attitude of the Russian Foreign Minister’s vitriolic filled with bitter criticism or malice, it would seem the real item on their agenda was how to deal with Israel.
This meeting is significant prophetically in that it looks like the gathering storm that will ultimately be unleashed upon Israel when these nations, Russia, Iran, Turkey and Syria and other nations joining them from the UN that will invade Israel and lay siege against Jerusalem, but it is also at Jerusalem where these armies will meet their demise on the mountains of Israel when God’s fire consumes them from the heavens! (Ezekiel Chapters 38-39).
Russian, Turkish and Iranian forces are already in Syria. Iran has been fighting a proxy war against Israel through Hezbollah and Hamas as well as supplying weapons to terrorists in Israel. We also know that God is manoeuvring these nations in relation to His dealings with Israel. While these nations will be gathered to Jerusalem by God to bring His people back to Himself and to the Messiah our Lord Jesus, and to experience salvation through Him, once these nations have served God’s purposes He will get rid of them and that big time! He will deal with them as He dealt with the ancient empires of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon and Rome, all nations God used to bring His people Israel back into a right relationship with Himself.
So then, God Himself will bring these nations to Jerusalem for judgement. (Joel 3:1-312-15) (Zechariah 14:1-5). The armies of these nations will drink the cup of God’s wrath that will send them and Israel’s’ immediate Islamic neighbours into a stupor that will cause them all to stagger like those intoxicated with strong drink. Despite all of their efforts to eradicate the Jewish presence in Jerusalem they will find Jerusalem an immovable rock. All of these armies of the nations gathered against Jerusalem will be injured. The Hebrew text says they will be “ripped” or “torn apart.”
Added to this, God will strike every horse of the enemy army with panic, disorientation and their riders with madness while keeping a watchful eye on the House of Judah, and then blinding the horses of the nations. The leaders of Judah will recognise the hand of God in this judgement and that their only hope is to trust in Him alone. These leaders in Israel will then be like a fire pot in a dry woodpile, like a flaming torch among dry sheaves consuming their enemies to the right and to the left. We are also told in Zechariah the Judah will also fight at Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:14). Jerusalem will remain intact in her place! God will save His people, deliver Jerusalem and shield those who remain there, who were not taken into exile. See: (Zechariah 14:1-3).
In that day even the weakest ones in Israel will be as courageous and capable in combat as King David was. The people of Israel will act like God, like the Angel of the Lord (the pre-incarnate Messiah) going before them. God says this will happen on the day when He will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem (Zechariah 12:1-9). For the remaining Jews in Jerusalem this climatic event will coincide with a revelation of the Messiah. God will pour out His Spirit of unmerited favour and supplication. It will be just like what He did on the Day of Pentecost (Joel 2:28-32) (Acts 2:17-21).
Once again He will pour out His Spirit upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem who will look upon the one they have pierced and will mourn for Him with tears of heartfelt repentance mixed with unspeakable joy, and the weeping in Jerusalem on that day of deliverance and revelation will be great!!! For Israel it will be life from the dead!!! (Romans 11:15). On that day that cleansing fountain for sin provided at the cross will still be open for Israel and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from their sin and impurity (Zechariah 12:10-11).
Let the UN Security Council, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Syria and all who hate Israel’s existence meet together, being part and parcel of the gathering storm against Israel, however, the perfect storm will come when the Lion of the tribe of Judah roars and the nations of the world and its leaders are devastated and tremble with fear!
When the mountains shake and the kingdoms that man has created are smashed and ground into the dust, and in that day of great slaughter when the towering skyscrapers collapse, the Lord will indeed roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the sky will indeed tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for His people, a fortress for the people of Israel (Joel 3:16) (Isaiah 30:25). It will be the Perfect Storm!
