In yesterday’s edition of All Israel News online a headline read; “Biden Administration issues Harshest Rebuke of Israel to date over Israeli Housing Plans in West Bank.” Part of the article states; “In its clearest signal yet of a departure from Trump-era relations with the Jewish state, the Biden administration strongly criticized Israel’s plan to build some 3,000 more homes in the settlements. “We are deeply concerned about the Israeli government’s plan to advance thousands of settlement units on Wednesday, many of them deep in the West Bank,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said. “We strongly oppose the expansion of settlements, which is completely inconsistent with efforts to lower tensions and restore calm. And it damages the prospects for a two-state solution.” Price added that the administration views plans “for the retroactive legalization of illegal outposts as unacceptable” and would discuss these issues directly with Israeli officials.
This was the first time Israel has proposed new Jewish housing in the settlements since President Joe Biden took office and the harshest language used by U.S. officials against Israel. Israeli announced last Sunday its plans to expand Jewish communities in the West Bank, immediately drawing the ire of Palestinians and pro-Palestinian groups. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called for global condemnation of Israeli “aggression.” The United Nations said, “All settlements are illegal under international law.”
Even Jordan blasted Israel’s decision with Foreign Ministry Spokesman Haitham Abu Al-Ful calling a “confiscation” of Palestinian land “illegitimate”… Under former President Donald Trump, the administration announced a reversal of U.S. policy saying it does not view Israeli settlements in the West Bank as illegal. Israel frequently got a green light for settlement activity during Trump’s four years as president and enjoyed warm relations with America. The Trump-era represented a marked U-turn from former U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration that had acrimonious relations with then-Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Biden was vice president at the time, and though he is considered highly pro-Israel, his administration and his State Department reflect Obama’s positions from issues such as Israeli settlements to the Iranian nuclear deal.” (End of extract)
Sadly the Trump administration which supported Israel by putting its words into actions is gone and in the Oval office you now you have a seemingly somewhat senile puppet whose strings are being pulled by Obama the Puppet Master who does not support Israel at all. Prime Minster Naftali Bennett does not seem to see or possibly does not want to see that the Biden Administration is no friend of Israel. Biblically speaking where Israel is concerned it represents the Egypt of this world and for Israel to lean upon it will be disastrous when faced with an implacable enemy.
Did not the Assyrian King Sennacherib sneer at God and taunt God’s people when he said to King Hezekiah and the people of Judah; “You claim to have a strategy and strength for war, but these are empty words. In whom are you now trusting, that you have rebelled against me? Look now, you are trusting in Egypt, that splintered reed of a staff that will pierce the hand of anyone who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh King of Egypt to all who trust in him” (Isaiah 36:5-6).
While this was a taunt that God dealt with it personally it conveys a truth that the Egypt that the people of Judah were looking to for support could not come to their aid having already been conquered by the Assyrian king. When the chips were down Egypt could not come to their aid. In the case of King Hezekiah he was a Godly king and turned to the Lord along with the people in Jerusalem to deliver them. The Assyrians were amassing right outside the city walls and it looked like the city would fall. God had arranged this situation, not to destroy His people, but to bring them to the place where they would look only to Him alone to rescue and deliver them from the overwhelming army that were now laying a siege against Jerusalem.
Isaiah was God’s prophet at that time and through him the Lord gave His Word and saved Jerusalem. The Angel of the Lord (the pre-incarnate Messiah) put to death 85 thousand Assyrian soldiers. King Sennacherib went back to Assyria where he was assassinated (Isaiah 37:36-38). This event teaches us about what will happen to the city of Jerusalem in the last days. Of course we know that the king of Assyria foreshadows the man of sin who will lead his army against the city and these ‘locusts’ will be like grasshoppers covering the entire land that strip everything bare (Joel 1:2-7; 2:1-11).
Egypt is a metaphor for the world and when Israel as a nation face their darkest hour ever experienced and it looks like Jerusalem will be completely sacked the surviving remnant in Israel will recognise their Messiah coming in the clouds and repent of their rejection of Him (Joel 2: 12-17). At that time the Lord will go out to fight those nations. At the last moment because He has taken pity on his people He will send the Messiah our Lord Jesus back to earth who will destroy all of Israel’s enemies and save the City from total devastation and drive the armies of the antichrist into the Mediterranean Sea where their stench will arise and Israel will be completely restored spiritually and nationally (Zechariah Chapters 12 &14) (Joel 2:18-27).
During this time of tribulation and deliverance God will have the final end-time harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God (Joel 2:28-32) (Revelation 14:14-16). The nations will be judged that have laid siege to Jerusalem and ransacked the city. God will turn these armies into the winepress of His wrath (Joel 3:1-16) (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Revelation 14:17-20) (Revelation 19:15) Following this final victory the Messianic kingdom will commence (Joel 3:17-21) (Zechariah 14:16-21).
At present Israel as a nation by and large is away from the Lord and living as the pagan nations. The Israeli leadership are looking to America for support if the truth be known but Biden and not Trump is now in the Whitehouse and is the puppet of Obama the puppet master and his henchmen at work behind the scenes to see Israel divided up and dismembered as a nation. Of course we know that the real puppet master pulling the strings of Obama and Biden is Satan who wants to obliterate Israel to try and prevent the Second Coming of the Messiah. Of course Satan will never succeed. His doom has been forever sealed by the complete efficacy of the Messiah’s pure, undefiled and atoning blood and the victory He achieved over all sin and death and over the spiritual forces, principalities and powers in the unseen spiritual realm where the Messiah, “having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15).
At present God is still saying to His wayward people “Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save. When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground; on that very day his plans perish” (Psalm 146:3-4).
And again the Lord is saying to Israel and its leaders, “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind, who makes the flesh his strength and turns his heart from the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:5).
And yet again He is calling out to His people Israel; “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes” (Psalm 118:8-9).
Biden may rattle the sabre at Israel because of the settlements being built in the West Bank and undoubtedly Biden’s puppet master Obama, spurred on by Satan, is pulling Biden’s strings to stop Israeli settlements in the West Bank and throughout the whole Land of Israel given to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by God through a blood covenant made with Abraham, a covenant that is still active today and guarantees Israel’s final status as a nation from the River of Egypt to the Euphrates River and everything in between (Genesis 15:17-21). God bequeathed the Jewish people the Land of Israel to be for them “an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:7-8).
Israel as a nation has yet to pass through the Time of The Big trouble but after God has fulfilled his sanctifying purposes for His people He will save them out of it! (Jeremiah 30:1-10). He always remembers His covenants and this includes the one He made with Israel. During the time of the Big Trouble, when the surviving remnant turn back to Him, they will realise that the promise God made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob concerning Israel’s complete spiritual and national restoration has never been annulled.
As the psalmist declares; “He is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant He made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit” (Psalm 107:8-11).
As New Covenant believers in the Messiah our Lord Jesus, who love and support the Jewish people and believe in their ultimate spiritual and national restoration, we know who is really pulling the strings. God Himself is the superb Puppet Master and has, and will always have, everything under control!
