An Evangelistic Message for the Passover Season.
There is a story told of a man with the job of raising and lowering a drawbridge so passenger trains could cross a deep canyon. This man had one child, a son whom he loved very much. One day the little boy wandered toward the bridge without his father noticing. Soon the father heard a train whistle. As he started to pull the lever to lower the bridge, he looked out the window and saw that his son had crawled down into the heavy gears; if he pushed the lever his son would be crushed!
There was only seconds to decide. Hundreds of people would die if he didn’t lower the drawbridge-all sons and daughters loved by someone. He took a deep breath and with his heart screaming with pain he pulled the lever crushing his son. The bereaved father stood helplessly at the window, beating on it with both fists and screaming out in anguish, as the train zipped quickly over the bridge. The passengers saw him and thought he was waving so they waved back without realizing the awesome price the father had just paid for them.
For God so loved the world.
God’s Word the Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever is believing in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not judged, but whoever does not believe has been judged already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18)
He was pierced for our transgressions.
The Bible also says, “He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the rebellion of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5, 6)
God’s heart was filled with pain.
God’s heart screamed out in anguish as He watched His one and only Eternal and Divine Son being crucified for our sin and rebellion. The Bible tells us that His body was so twisted and disfigured by the weight of the world’s sin that lay heavily upon Him that He was hardly recognizable as a man. (Isaiah 52:14)
It is finished!
At that moment on the cross God’s wrath was being poured out without restraint upon the Son He loved. Just before the Lord Jesus died He said; “It is finished.” From that moment on the way to heaven lay open for everyone. Dear friend, the Lord Jesus Christ gave up His life to rescue you from this present evil age, from the last judgement and from an eternal torment in the Lake of Fire. (Galatians1:4) (Revelation 6:12-17; 19:11-21; 21:18)
The Lord Jesus the Messiah died in your place.
On the cross the Lord Jesus died in your place to bring you back into a personal relationship with God your creator. (1 Peter 3:18) On the third day He rose again physically from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) The Bible tells us that God can bestow forgiveness of sin and eternal life and save you from God’s wrath upon sin only on the basis of the shed blood of His Son. (Romans 3:22-26; 5:7-9) The precious blood of the Lord Jesus was the purchase price of your salvation. (Ephesians 1:7)
The Bible tells us that without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin. (Hebrews 9:22) The blood of the Lord Jesus the Messiah is the most powerful cleansing agent for all and every sin and it can cleanse your life from the deepest and darkest stains of sin. (1 John 1:7, 8-9)
Are you like one of those passengers?
Maybe you have been like one of those passengers on the train and have never realized before the great agony and cost to God who allowed His Son to be horribly “crushed” to death as it were so that you could live forever with Him in heaven. (Romans 5:6-8; John 11:25-26)
The Way, the Truth and the Life.
The Lord Jesus the Messiah Himself said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6) The Lord Jesus the Messiah loves you far beyond anything you can imagine or think. His unmerited favour is free but it is not cheap! God’s free gift of Eternal Life can never be deserved or earned. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:20; 6:23)
It does not matter what you have done in the past, or where you have been or how bad you have been, God will forgive you and forget your past if you will repent and turn back to Him with all of your heart and your will and believe on Him whose blood was shed for you. (Hebrews 8:12) (Romans 3:22-24) In the blood of the Messiah a fountain has been opened to cleanse from sin and impurity. (Zechariah 13:1)
God has a purpose for your life.
Every one of us has fallen short of God’s righteous standards and stand guilty as charged before Him. (Romans 3:23) Will you tell God that you are sorry for living without Him and for violating His Commandments? His laws are summed up in the 10 Commandments which God gave us for our spiritual well-being and for living a life that will please Him. However, spiritually speaking, every human being has missed the mark and fallen short of the standard of righteous living God requires from man. No one can keep His laws by their own will power. (Romans 3:19-20) His law must be written in your heart by the Holy Spirit Himself. (Jeremiah 31:33-34)
Will you willingly submit to the Lordship of Jesus the Messiah over your life? God has a plan and purpose mapped out for your life and the Lord Jesus came to activate that plan for you. (John 10:10) Are you now willing to turn from a way of life that hates and rejects the Lord Jesus, to a way of life that loves the Lord Jesus and accepts His Lordship over it? Are you willing to acknowledge that you have broken His commandments and offer no excuses? This is true repentance!
You can be made new all over again deep down on the inside.
Someone has said; “Unless there is within us that with is above us we will soon yield to that which is below us.” If you really want to be made brand new all over again deep down on the inside and have a brand new start in life and be empowered by God to keep His Commandments, then the blessed Holy Spirit is willing right now to give you that supernatural power. He will impart to you the New Spiritual Rebirth from above and apply the cleansing blood of Jesus to your heart and life. By faith in the Lord Jesus you can receive God’s very own righteous nature through this New Spiritual rebirth from above. (Romans 3:21-24) (Philippians 3:7-10) Unless you are born again from above you will never see God’s Eternal Kingdom. (John 3:3)
No Greater Love!
There is No Greater Love in the whole world universe than God’s love freely given to you through the Lord Jesus God’s one and only unique and eternal Son. Right now at this very moment He is standing at the door of your life. Will you invite Him in to be your personal Saviour and Lord? (John 1:12-13) (Romans 10:9-13) Why go to hell and miss out on the very best God has for you? Will you choose heaven or hell? The choice is yours.
God has done everything He can to bring you back into a relationship with Himself but He will not repent for you. The Lord Jesus Himself also said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever live and believes in Me will never die.” (John 11:25) Will it be life or death? The choice is yours. (Deuteronomy 30:19) You will live for ever but where you spend eternity depends on the choice you make. This life is the only chance you will have.
Now is the accepted time now is the day of salvation! (2 Corinthians 6:2b)You can pray to God right now. What are you waiting for? Run to Him with your sins not from Him! Will you pray the sinner’s prayer? God will hear you if you really mean it with all of your heart.
The Sinners Prayer.
“Dear Heavenly Father I acknowledge that I have violated your commandments and have no excuse. I now want to thank you for loving me and for sending the Lord Jesus to die in my place and for my sin. Thank you that His shed blood has fully atoned for all of my sin and rebellion.
I now confess Jesus as Lord over my life and I do believe in my heart that you have raised Him from the dead. I am now willing to turn away from my unbelief and rebellion towards you and from everything in my life that does not please you and with your help to keep your commandments.
I now turn from my own will and take up your good, acceptable and perfect will for my life. Please give me your Holy Spirit to make me brand new deep down on the inside and the kind of person you created me to be. Have mercy upon me Lord Jesus, pardon and cleanse me from every sin by your blood.
I now receive you into my life as my personal Saviour, Lord and King by faith alone, Thank you Lord Jesus for coming into my life and giving me the Holy Spirit. In Your name I pray this prayer to God my Father in Heaven. Amen.”
