In yesterday’s online publication of the Jewish News Syndicate it reported on a live interview that Prime Minister Netanyahu had with Fox News. In the interview the Israeli Prime Minister said that his Likud Party’s main rival, Blue and White, would not follow through on the U.S. “Peace to Prosperity” plan if it wins Israel’s March 2 election. He also castigated two of Blue and White leader Benny Gantz’s senior advisers for comparing U.S. President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
In this special interview with Mark Levin, the host of Fox News show “Life, Liberty & Levin,” Netanyahu explained that Blue and White is “a leftist party in disguise. Remember, the majority of Israelis are right and centre-right. So in order to get centre-right voters, they (Blue and White) pretend to be a centre-right party” he said. Netanyahu also added that Gantz was “being fed by two people. One is an Israeli adviser called Ronen Tzur, he compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler. It’s incredible, the greatest friend we’ve ever had in the White House, and he’s compared him to Adolf Hitler.”
The second person, said Netanyahu, “is an American adviser, he’s Joel Benenson. He worked for Obama. But he too did something which I think is illegitimate. He, too, compared President Trump to Adolf Hitler.” Tzur is a former Knesset member, while Benenson advised not only former U.S. President Barack Obama, but also presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former New York Governor Mario Cuomo. “These are the two closest advisers of Benny Gantz, who tell him what to say, when to say it, and so on,” Netanyahu stressed. “They’re (Blue and White) putting on an act, as though they’re for the Trump plan. These people, who call President Trump Hitler, are for President Trump’s plan? Give me a break! So this is one big con job, that’s what it is.”
In reality Benny Gantz can’t form a government without relying on the support of Ayman Odeh, Ahmad Tibi and the Arab Joint List even though Benny has publically stated that if he is elected he will not join-hands with this pro-Palestinian organization. The Arab Joint List is a political alliance of the main Arab-majority political parties in Israel. Many Arab citizens of Israel, who identify themselves as ‘Palestinians’ and Arab politicians as well, have consistently called for an end to Israel’s supposed ‘occupation’ of the West Bank and Gaza and support the creation of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The elections are now not far away and if the Blue and White party get in then Benny Gantz may well find himself under pressure to give into the Arab politician’s demands. Will Benny stick to his word not to join hands with the Joint Arab List? According to the Word of God a time is coming when “a worthless shepherd” will come to power in Israel.
God spoke through the prophet Zechariah; “For behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will neither care for the lost, nor seek the young, nor heal the broken, nor sustain the healthy, but he will devour the flesh of the choice sheep and tear off their hooves. “Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May a sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered and his right eye utterly blinded!” (Zechariah 11:17)
Israel’s greatest need is a spiritual one. If Prime Minister Netanyahu is not re-elected will a secular man come into power that in the end will not care for God or for His people or for a united Jerusalem and Israel? Politicians promise many things before an election but what happens after they are elected? Do they keep their promises?
I love Prime Minister Netanyahu as I love Israel and believe in their complete national and spiritual restoration as a nation at the end of this present age. Tragically, at present, the nation by and large are aliens and strangers to their own covenants of promise, despisers of Torah and the prophets, filled with materialism, hedonistic and unbiblical lifestyles, and estranged from their Messiah and long lost brother in the flesh our Lord Jesus.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is not perfect and personally I think his upcoming trial is “a witch-hunt.” He reads and studies the Torah and believes in a unified Israel with Biblically defined geographical boundaries which are the birthright of the Jewish people through the line of Isaac and Jacob, and on occasions, has declared this publically. He also embraces evangelical Bible-believing Christians whom he knows are friends of Israel.
A well-known Jewish evangelist whom I respect has said, “People get the leaders they deserve.” When Israelis go to the polls who will they choose? In the end it will be a choice. Ultimately will it be the true shepherd of Israel Yahweh and His Only unique Son our Lord Jesus or the worthless one who will not care for the welfare of the sheep? If Prime Minister Netanyahu is re-elected it may well be a reprieve for many Israelis to return to the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and to their Passover Lamb and true Messiah our Lord Jesus. Prime Minister Netanyahu is a shepherd for his people and has only their best interests at heart.
Time is running out for us all, the night of great tribulation is coming upon Israel and the whole world. This election in Israel is crucial to the welfare of all Israelis and Arabs for that matter. In the end the reason why God will send a worthless shepherd is to bring His people back to their true and only shepherd our Lord Jesus the Messiah, the one who is the visible image of the invisible God, the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being and the one in whom all the fullness of deity dwells in bodily form. (Colossians 1:15) (Hebrews 1:3) (Colossians 2:9)
Personally I am inclined to believe that Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu is the man to lead the Jewish nation at this time and that he may well be a man “who is not far from the Kingdom of God” because He loves and studies the Bible. Having said this in the end no political leader can save Israel! Once the nation has experienced the tyranny of the worthless shepherd only then will they come to appreciate and embrace the chief shepherd of infinite worth who has laid down His life for the sheep.
