According to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
According to a headline in the Independent Online earlier this week it read; “Spirit of Hitler’ has emerged in Israel after new nation state law, says Turkey president Erdogan.” The report went on to say; Turkey’s bombastic president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said the “spirit of Hitler” lives on in Israel after the country passed a controversial “nation state” law om 18th July 2018 which critics say is discriminatory towards the country’s Arab minority. In a speech to his country’s parliament in Ankara he said the new law, designed to strengthen Israel’s identity as the “national home of the Jewish people”, and showed that the soul of the Nazi leader had “risen again within some of Israel’s officials”. “There’s no difference between Hitler’s obsession with a pure race and the understanding that these ancient lands are just for the Jews,” he declared, referencing the German regime which massacred six million Jews in the Second World War.” Once again Erdogan’s twisted rhetoric and militancy and inbred bias against Israel shows its true colours.
According to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clearly defined the purpose of this new nation state law and it has nothing to do with a Nazi Mentality and a ‘pure and superior race.’ Prime Minister Netanyahu wrote the following on his Facebook page: “Ninety-six years ago today, on July 24, 1922, the British Mandate was confirmed by the League of Nations. The British Mandate incorporated the Balfour Declaration as a binding legal document, one which awarded national rights to the Jewish people – and only the Jewish people – in the Land of Israel. The British Mandate, which expanded upon the Biblical and historical connection of the Jewish people to its land, was later adopted by the United Nations, and until today is a binding document under international law that defines the international legal status of the Land of Israel. In light of this, we enacted the Nation-State Law, which for the first time enshrines, as a Basic Law, the status of the State of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people. These are clear historical facts regarding our rights in the Land of Israel. Share this.”
The Key Components
The following are the key components of the Nation-State Law. One has to keep in mind though, that basic laws securing the human rights of the individual were legislated back in 1992. In fact, it was the law of “human dignity and freedom” that tipped the balance in favour of those opposing Israel as a Jewish home. The present law seeks to restore balance between the rights of the individual and the rights of the community. 1. The land of Israel is the historical homeland of the Jewish people, in which the State of Israel was established; 2.The State of Israel is the national home of the Jewish people; 3. The right to exercise national self-determination in the State of Israel is unique to the Jewish people; 4. The state will strive to ensure the safety of the members of the Jewish people in trouble or in captivity due to the fact of their Jewishness or their citizenship; 5. The state shall act within the Diaspora to strengthen the affinity between the state and members of the Jewish people; 6. The state shall act to preserve the cultural, historical and religious heritage of the Jewish people among Jews in the Diaspora.”
The ‘Israel bashing’ goes on!
As you can see this new state law has absolutely nothing to do with the spirit of Hitler and his obsession with a pure race. If anything Erdogan’s obsession with a revived Turkish Ottoman Caliphate would perpetrate the very same thing as Adolph Hitler in that those who gave allegiance to the caliphate and Islamic Koranic law would automatically be part of a superior race that would see all non-Muslims in submission and inferior to Islam. As for Turkey’s history concerning the Armenian Genocide and the ongoing massacre of the Kurds by the Turks there is no doubt that the spirit of Adolph Hitler is alive and well in Turkey. And so the Israel bashing goes on without let up! No doubt the UN and the EU as they are always prone to do will eventually criticise and denigrate Israel again over this law that has been ratified by the Government in Israel. Already Israel has been accused on numerous occasions by Anti-Semites as being an Apartheid State.
What God says
Having said all of this what does God say about Israel? Lets turn to the Prophet Jeremiah Chapter 31 verses 31-40)
(Vs. 31) “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, (Vs.32) not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.
(Vs.33) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Vs.34) And no longer shall each one teach his neighbour and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
(Vs.35) Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord of hosts is his name: (Vs.36) “If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the Lord, then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever.” (Vs.37) Thus says the Lord: “If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, declares the Lord.” (Vs.38) “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when the city shall be rebuilt for the Lord from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.
(Vs.39) And the measuring line shall go out farther, straight to the hill Gareb, and shall then turn to Goah. (Vs.40) The whole valley of the dead bodies and the ashes, and all the fields as far as the brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be sacred to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever.”
In this prophecy of Jeremiah we notice several indisputable facts that God himself has declared concerning Israel.
#1. The New Covenant
The New Covenant cut in the blood of the Messiah our Lord Jesus was made with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah and not with the Church. On the day of Pentecost David’s fallen tabernacle was spiritually restored and that Gentiles who believed would be grafted into Israel not to replace Israel. (Acts 15:16-18) (Amos 9:11-12) (Romans 11:24) (Ephesians 2:11-22) This was the former rain of the Spirit or the harbinger of the latter rain of the Spirit yet to come when Israel as a nation will be saved through faith in the Messiah our Lord Jesus. (Romans 11:25-29) The roots of the First Century Church was Jewish and so will the last Church be the same just before the Lord Jesus comes back. As the prophet Joel writes; ““Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.” (Joel 2:23) At present Israel as a nation on the whole are away from the LORD but He is arranging things in such a way that through applied pressure they will come back to Him in repentance and faith through the Lord Jesus the Messiah. (Zechariah 12:10-14) God will do this for His own name’s sake not for their sake. (Ezekiel 36:22-38)
#2. The fixed order
Just as the fixed order of the constellations do not change but remain as they are so the LORD Himself says concerning Israel “If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the Lord, then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever.” Thus says the Lord: “If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, declares the Lord.”
#3. It shall not be plucked up
Jerusalem will be rebuilt and it shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever. This is yet to happen. In 1948 Ezekiel 37:1-8 was fulfilled when Israel were back in their land after almost 2,000 years of exile but on the whole not spiritually revived as a nation. In the future Ezekiel 37:9-28 will be fulfilled with one nation under one King in the Messianic Kingdom of the Lord Jesus. Let Erdogan rave and rant concerning Israel, let the UN and the EU ‘rattle their sabres’ and issue one sanction after another against Israel, let the Anti-Semites in Christendom and the replacement theologians and Kingdom Dominion heretics push their anti-Israel agendas God ‘s Word will same the same thing tomorrow as it does today. God Himself who does not change has stated in His Word; Thus says the Lord: “If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be explored, then I will cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, declares the Lord.” Concerning the City of Jerusalem God says that at the end of this age, after the Messiah our Lord Jesus has come back, “It shall not be plucked up or overthrown anymore forever!”
