Why Do the Nations Conspire?

(Psalm 2:1-3) “Why do the nations conspire (rage), and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against His anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”

Today there are once again conspiracy theories flooding the internet regarding the globalists and the Illuminati and the new world order. No one doubts that there are men in high places within the western democracies that would like to see a form of global control over the world’s population. We cannot ignore the advance of technology in this area. Having said this we need to go back to the Bible in matters pertaining to Biblical prophecy. World events must always be looked at in light of scripture. Our opinions to not matter but only what God has said and revealed in His Word! This is what counts! I am persuaded that what has been sealed up for centuries is being unsealed today for those who are anticipating the Messiah’s Second Coming by keeping themselves spiritually alert and preparing themselves for His coming kingdom. (2 Peter 3:10-14)

We need to keep in mind that the nations and geographical regions mentioned in the Bible related to end-time prophecy are all Islamic nations today. Bible prophecy does not centre on the western nations but on the middle-eastern nations. Today there is a grand conspiracy that has been in place since the fall in the Garden of Eden and its mastermind is Satan. Down through history Satan has been stirring up the nations against God’s people Israel and by extension and inclusion the faithful Church.

Since 1948, with the re-birth of the nation of Israel, Satan has ‘turned up the heat’ on Israel and the faithful Body of the Messiah (the faithful Church) because Satan knows his time is short and in a rage he is desperately trying to salvage a battle he has already lost forever through the cross and resurrection of the Messiah.  Satan experienced his first defeat at Jerusalem and he will experience his last defeat there as well. (Daniel 11:45)

The nations Satan is organizing to conspire against Israel and by extension and inclusion the faithful Church, are by and large Islamic but also including the European Union Member States. This conspiracy primarily is not just against God’s people but against God Himself and His Messiah our Lord Jesus. Bible Prophecy is centred on Israel, God’s prophetic time clock for the nations. In 70AD the clock broke down but not beyond repair. In 1948 it started ticking again and it is now almost to strike midnight when everything will change. How far to midnight? We cannot tell but it is much closer now that it was in 1948 when Israel was reborn in a day as a nation. (Isaiah 66:7-9)

In a report on TV7 Israel News on Monday Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini called on the whole Muslim world to unite for the purpose of annihilating the Jewish State. In a televised address marking Quads Day, an Arabic term used for the day of the Holy City in reference to Jerusalem, the supreme leader referred to the State of Israel as “a deadly cancerous tumour that will be inevitably be uprooted and destroyed.” He also stated; “The long lasting virus of Zionism will not last much longer” He also called on all Islamic nations to rally to the cause of the so called ‘Palestinian’ people.

As for President Erdogan of Turkey in a live broadcast he stated; “We will not allow the Palestinian lands to be offered to anyone else…Al Quds Al-Sharif is a red line for all Muslims.” He also stated; “We hereby reiterate our call for fairly redesigning the global system.” According to the ideology of the Muslim brotherhood endorsed by President Erdogan their ultimate agenda is an Islamic empire of global proportions.

Israel at present is in a tenuous and somewhat vulnerable position with Prime Minister Netanyahu on trial for supposed ‘crimes.’ Personally I am persuaded it is a ‘witch-hunt’ such as we saw with the attempted impeachment of President Trump. In Psalm 83 we see a description of a war which happens between Israel and its immediate Islamic nations. It is a detailed description that actually lists by name the nations that will attack Israel. They are all Islamic nations. Some believe the prayer of Asaph, who composed the Psalm, is merely a general prayer for protection for Israel and it is that of course, but when looking at its composition and description of events there is no doubt it is of a prophetic nature.

When you look at the current situation facing Israel there is no doubt it can be seen in the Psalm of Asaph. The whole Bible in fact is prophetic in nature. What happens in the past teaches us about what will happen in the future. The way God has acted in the past is the way He will act again in the future because He does not change. (Malachi 3:6) (James 1:17) Bible prophecy is the same. Past events that have happened also teach us about future events to come.

Israel will win the Psalm 83 war but will have to face the invasion of the nations in the future which will see Israel’s very existence threatened. (Ezekiel Chapters 38-39) (Zechariah Chapters 12-14) (Joel Chapter 3) After three and a half years of the Time of the Big Trouble the Messiah will return with the armies of heaven to save Israel, rapture and resurrect the saints, pour out His wrath and annihilate the armies surrounding Jerusalem. The antichrist’s beast empire and all who have served them will go down into the pit of Hades (Hell). (Ezekiel 26:20-21; Chapter 27) As for the man of sin and the false prophet they will be thrown alive into the lake of fire. (Revelation 19:20) Satan will be bound for a thousand years and removed from human contact. (Revelation 20:1-3) The Messiah our Lord Jesus will reign on earth.

Now coming back to Psalm 2 we see the nations conspiring against the Lord and against His anointed Messiah and refusing to come under their sovereign rule. This is the real satanic conspiracy! However, God Himself will have ‘the last laugh’ because the psalm continues; “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath, saying, “I have installed My king on Zion, My Holy Mountain.”(Psalm 2:4-6)

When the Lord Jesus comes back He will reign from Mt Zion in the City of David and we will co-reign with Him on earth if we have persevered and endured to the end. (Matthew 24:13) (Revelation 2:26-27) In the Millennial Kingdom to come we will be a kingdom of priests and will reign on the earth. (Revelation 5:10)
