On July 1st this year President Xi Jinping said; “The Chinese people will never allow any foreign forces to bully us. Anyone who dares to try will have their heads bashed bloody against a great wall of steel.” Currently China is on the move to expand their economic and military prowess in the South China Sea and in the South Pacific Region. Anyone who stands in their way will suffer the consequences according to the leader of the Chinese Communist Party.
There is no doubt of China’s military ambitions, not only in the South China Sea, but also in the South Pacific and beyond. Already we are seeing a strained relationship between Australia and China. Clearly China wants Taiwan and if it decides to invade the Island nation then Australia along with Japan, India and the United States will have to go to Taiwan’s defence if it is attacked by China. If this occurs, then there would be nothing stopping China hitting Australia’s key military installations and infrastructure with missiles. America has its own satellite surveillance base and Australian Earth Station located in Pine Gap not far from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
Because the Australian government sees a real threat from China the Prime Minister Scott Morrison has just signed a deal with America and the United Kingdom to build nuclear submarines for Australia as part of the AUKUS pact to curtail Chinese military and naval aggression in the Indo-Pacific Region. Australia is seeking to pursue long-range hypersonic missile technology and undersea drones while it builds a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines as part of this new military pact with the United States and Britain, a partnership China has labelled an “extremely irresponsible” threat to regional stability. The Australian Prime Minister cancelled a deal with France called “The contract of the century”, agreed to between Paris and Canberra in 2016 for France to provide Australia with diesel-electric Barracuda submarines for a total of 34 billion euros (A$55 billion) over a 25-year period. The deal was cancelled much to the chagrin of the French President Macron.
The security threat to Australia is a reality that the Australian government cannot afford to ignore. Many years ago now I remember a speaker at a Church meeting I attended talking about a visit he made to China. He related how, when visiting a classroom in a local Chinese school, he happened to see a map of Australia coloured completely in red on the classroom wall. When he asked what this meant he was told it represented “The New China.” Today in Australia China owns key ports, mines, agricultural land, dairy processors, valuable real estate, state-sponsored schools, plus water and energy companies.
In October 2015, the Chinese-owned Landbridge Group won the bid for a lease of Port Darwin. The Northern Territory Government granted the company a 99-year lease for A$506 million. Today this large port is located very near Australia’s naval ship building yards. The Port itself is fenced off with an “Off Limits” sign written in Chinese and English. My brother who has travelled to the port has seen this. The Port itself would provide the perfect landing spot for Chinese naval vessels, Chinese troops and a base for armed combat helicopters. The Australian government are now looking at the possibility of terminating the lease because of the threat to Australia’s national security. If this happens there will be “another big crisis” if the Australian government rips up the 99-year lease on the Port of Darwin.
Recently the Australian Prime Minister tore up the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Belt and Road initiative agreement the Premier of Victoria Daniel Andrews (nicknamed “Chairman Dan”) had signed with Xi Jinping giving the Communist Chinese direct access to Australia to build their infrastructure on Australian soil. Daniel Andrews did not notify the Federal government before signing the deal with Xi Jinping. For years of course Australia has been dealing with the CCP economically but the relationship is now fractured as we see the current economic relationship between the two nations increasingly under strain.
As far as its spiritual state Biblically speaking, Australia it would seem is now under the judgement of God! We have legislation already passed in Parliament approving of same-sex marriage, euthanasia, abortion, rigid vilification laws seen as hate crimes, safe schools programmes designed to blur gender identity and prayer counselling for those needing help for their sexual orientation now seen as a criminal offence. Victoria leads the way in this totalitarian legislation of tyranny and ungodliness and wickedness that is deliberately intended to draw Australia away from its Judeo-Christian heritage and to replace it with a form of fascism that actually is an affront to God and to His laws and Commandments.
Right now the Victorian government under Daniel Andrew’s tyrannical socialist regime is seeking to legalise sex workers, expand the vilification laws and enforce Christian schools to employ gay and lesbian teachers who apply for jobs with the schools. Sadly, most Australians are just going along with this government legislation. If Aussies can have their sport, their pubs, their entertainment, their social life and continue to live lives oblivious to Biblical and spiritual matters they do not seem to care who makes the laws so long as they can enjoy their materialistic and hedonistic pleasures and pursuits lifestyles and that without God. While people are protesting against the draconian lockdowns and mandatory vaccinations, which are in themselves an abuse of human rights, once people have their ‘freedoms’ back they will undoubtedly return to their hedonistic pagan lifestyles.
A week ago now Victoria was shaken by an earthquake which shook the state and the shockwaves were felt in the suburbs. The tremor lasted for about 20 seconds. The epicentre of the 5.9 magnitude earthquake was in the countryside and was higher on the Richter scale than the magnitude 5.6 quake that hit Newcastle in New South Wales in 1989. This current earthquake was a stark reminder that God controls the weather patterns and He can shake any nation He desires to shake that has turned their backs on Him and on the Lord Jesus who has shed his blood to atone for the sins of the whole world (John 1:29).
For the most part the people of Australia, like all of the western democracies, are living in just the same way as the people were living in Noah’s time oblivious to the coming deluge even though Noah, a preacher of righteousness, was telling them to turn back to God and to come into the ark of salvation. We know that God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and this does not exclude the nation of Australia which was called “The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit” back in 1606 by the Portuguese Navigator de Quiros, exploring the South Pacific.
The time is coming, and I think has already commenced, when God is going to shake the nations and everything He has not established in order to bring men back to Himself. In the end only what God has established will still be left standing! (Haggai 2:6-7) While we see this shaking starting in the Middle east and in the United states and Europe it is coming to the South pacific region especially Australia. We have been called “The Lucky Country” because of our democracy and Judeo-Christian heritage and because we are a country where in the past people from other nations could migrate to and successfully start a new life and business, but Australia’s “luck” is fast running out!
Australia is now a Post-Christian nation and the freedoms we have had based on the 10 Commandments are being eroded by wicked and unprincipled men and women in the halls of political power and by a society that is mad on pleasure, materialism and hedonism and allowing laws to be legislated that go directly contrary to the laws and commandments of God as revealed in His Word, the Bible! Even within wider Christendom in Australia by and large ministers and church leaders and professing Christians are embracing ecumenism, interfaith, secular programmes for Church growth and Kingdom Dominion doctrine with its emphasis on health and wealth, hyper faith prosperity including its emphasis on miracles signs and wonders while neglecting to follow the whole counsel of God as revealed in the Bible. Many churches are now teaching for doctrines the Commandment of men.
If there is no spiritual revival in this nation then the only recourse for the Lord is to send a foreign army to invade this country. This is a Biblical pattern in both the Old and the New Testaments. If the politicians keep mandating Parliamentary legislation that defies Biblical truth, and if the Australian people continue to reject God’s laws, then there is no alternative for the nation but to face the judgement of God! With the rise of China in the South Pacific God is trying to get Australia’s attention. We know from God’s Word that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
The immediate threat of China to the North of Australia is a “boiling cauldron” tilted towards Australia. It is a wake-up call for the Christian Church in Australia to get right with God and to make the Lord Jesus and His unchanging infallible Word the No1 priority in all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him as revealed in the Word of God. We are told in the Bible that “Judgement begins with the House of God and that if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the good news of God? And “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” (1 Peter 4:17) (Proverbs 11:31).
Australia may be suffering lockdowns and hardship and these things are not to be dismissed lightly but these cannot compare with Communism itself which is even now being imposed on the people of Australia through certain politicians and mainstream media moguls taking advantage of the current COVID-19 situation in Australia to promote a fascist, tyrannical, totalitarian form of socialism. The State of Victoria is the prime example of where Australia as a nation is headed! If China invades Australia then the whole nation, including those within the hallowed halls of parliamentary privilege, will really know what it is to be under the heel of a tyrannical totalitarian dictatorship that will strip all Australians both high and low of their human rights and of the laws and Commandments of God that have given them true freedom and democracy which will have become a thing of the past!
China is on the move! If Taiwan is invaded then Australia will be in the missile sights of the Chinese. True freedom and prosperity for any nation can only be found in a personal relationship with God when the unsaved and the unsanctified people plough up the hard packed soil of their hearts to receive the seed of God’s Word until He comes and reigns righteousness upon them! As He has commanded; “Sow for yourselves righteousness and reap the fruit of loving devotion; break up your unploughed ground for it is time to seek the LORD until He comes and sends righteousness upon you like rain” (Hosea 10:12).
May the Lord our God have mercy on this great nation of Australia, but it will only come about when there is a turning from sin and a turning back to God through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus alone for salvation (John 14:6) (Acts 4:12) (Isaiah 55:6-7). Repentance and Righteousness or Retribution and Ruin? Which will it be? This is “The Valley of Decision” facing the nation of Australia! (Joel 3:14).
