The Man from Turkey has just hosted the Third Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit in Istanbul. According to a report online Heads of state from 16 African nations, along with more than 102 ministers and representatives of the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States were attending the summit in Istanbul. Erdogan stated, “Turkey is aiming to deepen economic and military ties on Africa.” In October this year, Istanbul hosted business leaders and dozens of ministers from African states for a summit aimed specifically at increasing trade. The same month, Erdogan visited Angola, Nigeria, and Togo.

On Saturday at the conference Erdogan said “One-point-three billion people live on the African continent and it is not represented at the Security Council. This is a huge, flagrant injustice. I am still excited and thrilled every time I visit the continent,” Erdogan said, adding that he had made more than 50 trips to the continent and visited more than 30 countries since 2004. He also said; “This summit is a testament to the fact that Turkey is interested in Africa and Turkey’s interest in Africa is not a temporary interest, it is a maintained commitment. Our African brothers and sisters are showing they are interested in better cooperation with Turkey.”

He further stated; “We understand security challenges like those from Daesh (ISIL), Boko Haram, and al-Shabab are not for a few countries only, but a shared challenge. Turkey has advanced technology when it comes to the defence industry, and Turkey has great experience when it comes to counter-terror operations. We are ready to offer this prowess to our African brothers and sisters.”

Turkey has a major military base in Somalia, where it has helped build infrastructure for the government and trained security personnel. Turkish forces also have a presence in Libya, where they are backing a UN-recognised government, and Turkish armed drones have played an important part in the conflict there. What kind of military operations will be specified at the summit is not forthcoming as yet. Turkey signed a military cooperation agreement with Ethiopia earlier this year, during a visit to Ankara by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Ethiopia, along with Morocco, already buys arms from Turkey.

In October this year, the Reuters news agency reported both countries were buying Turkey-made Bayraktar TB2 drones, which have also been sold to Azerbaijan, Poland, and Ukraine. Bilateral trade between Turkey and African nations has also dramatically increased in recent years. In the first 11 months of 2021, bilateral trade had reached $30bn, Erdogan said on Saturday, and Turkey planned to increase this to more than $50bn in coming years. Erdogan added that some 25,000 Africans were employed in the continent by Turkish companies, in projects worth $78bn, and more than 14,000 African students had studied in Turkey.

According to the report Turkey has been reaching out to wider regions including Africa to diversify its strategic engagements. In this regard, Ankara has considered African countries to be equal partners in its foreign policy objectives as well as economic goals. According to another online report it states Turkey’s national currency has plummeted 45% against the dollar this year and yet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan doesn’t seem all that bothered. The lira has flirted with record lows this week, but Turkey’s long-time leader is pressing ahead with his “economic war of independence” backed up by low interest rates.

Clearly the man from Turkey is solidifying Turkey’s relationship with the African nations because he knows that Islam is well established in the African continent and in reality he is after support for a resurrected Turkish Ottoman Caliphate which historically had much of Africa under its Caliphs especially North Africa.  Nearly one-third of the total Muslim population in the world today can be found in the Continent of Africa.

At present Turkish forces are in Syria and undoubtedly want access to the Golan Heights. Israel is also being pressured by the International Community to give the Golan Heights back to Syria, Of course Prime minister Bennett will never do this. If he did happen to allow this it would make Israel indefensible. No doubt that if the Golan Heights were handed over to Syria that Hezbollah would set up their rocket launchers there and be able to rain down hundreds of rockets upon Israeli cities. The Iron Dome could not handle such an onslaught of firepower from Hezbollah. It is a fact that Hezbollah have thousands of rockets stored up in Lebanon and these rockets are more advanced than the ones that Hamas has.

As for Turkey in Syria, Erdogan wants to see the Assad Regime destroyed giving Turkey the military supremacy in Syria and access to Iraq, Pakistan and the Turkic speaking Islamic Southern States of the former Soviet Union.  We know from Ezekiel Chapter 38 that the Invasion of Israel will be an Islamic invasion. Israel will be faced with a pincer movement with Islamic armies coming over the Golan Heights from the North out of Syria and in the South Islamic armies coming up out of the Continent of Africa (Ezekiel 38:1-6).

We also know that Egypt will fall to the armies of the man of sin whose goal will be to take control of the Temple which will have been rebuilt to the point where sacrifices and offerings can be offered up in the temple. Like Antiochus did, the man of sin will desecrate the temple, stop the sacrifices, set up the abomination in the temple and impose Islamic law and customs of the survivors in Israel just like Antiochus desecrated the Temple, imposed Greek laws and customs on the Jewish people and forbade the reading of the Torah. This will be for a three and a half year period of time by the Jewish calendar. (Daniel 7:24-27; 8:9-12; 12:7) (Revelation 13:5; 12:6). Until we know who the man of sin is we do know that Turkey will lead the invasion in Ezekiel Chapter 38.

As yet the Temple in Jerusalem has not been built but this could change. When you consider the character of Erdogan his speech and actions fit the description of the man of sin. Erdogan’s character traits are the same as Antiochus. The man of sin will meet his demise at Jerusalem and his armies killed and scattered over the mountains of Israel. (Daniel 8:23-25) (Ezekiel 38:19-39:1-6) (Zechariah 14:1-5). As for the man from Turkey he is facing an economic and monetary dilemma as the Turkish Lire decreases in value and economic and social hardship hits the Turkish people.

However, Adolph Hitler arose out of the economic chaos in Germany and started a war which revived national pride and more than likely the same thing will happen in Turkey. Hitler’s rise to power mirrors Erdogan’s rise to power. Once the Globetrotting Caliph has the support he needs then he will make his move militarily. If he is the man of sin then his forces will be something to deal with. His military campaign and the wars he will fight are all set out in Daniel Chapter 11:36-45 including his demise at Jerusalem and that by the hand of the Messiah our Lord Jesus when He comes back! (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Revelation 19:11-21).
