“Through his craft and by his hand, he will cause deceit to prosper, and in his own mind he will make himself great. In a time of peace he will destroy many, and he will even stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be broken off, but not by human hands” (Daniel 8:25).

The man from Turkey continues his efforts to bring together the leaders of Russia and Ukraine amid rising tension along their borders. It was reported this week in the AA (Anadolu Agency) Publication online that Turkey’s presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said on Saturday; “Our president’s offer to bring the leaders of Russia and Ukraine together is actually the most important and concrete proposal to overcome this crisis.” He also said that Erdogan had also discussed this crisis with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky during a recent visit to the capital Kyiv as well as in his phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and they are expected to have another call soon.

The man from Turkey also had a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates to consolidate their economic ties. The two countries discussed the joint steps they could take to further develop Turkey-UAE relationships. Erdogan said that they signed a total of 13 memorandums of understanding and protocols in various fields and reached a consensus in coordination of the joint steps to be taken in the field of defence industry in the upcoming period.

Not only has Erdogan been establishing ties with Europe and with the Middle-Eastern kingdoms in the Saudi Arabian Peninsula but also with countries in North Africa. Turkey’s diplomatic drive in Africa continued with his visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo this past weekend According to Congolese sources, a military framework agreement, a protocol on financial aid and a cooperation deal on the defence industry were signed. Ankara is seeking to significantly strengthen its presence on the African continent, with Erdogan visiting Africa nearly 40 times since 2005, as prime minister and president, and has opened some 40 Turkish diplomatic missions.

He has even reached out to Israel to repair the strained relationship between the two countries even though he still maintains his adherence to the creed of the Muslim Brotherhood and has never publically retracted the militant statements he has made in the past against Israel. While he continues to portray himself as some kind of international peace-keeper and mediator between countries in crisis at a time when NATO must demonstrate its unity in defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine, Turkey has decided to threaten Greece and question its very presence and commitment to NATO and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Turkey has long called for the demilitarisation of the Greeks islands in the eastern Aegean. Greece has always dismissed these claims, responding that as long as there is a Turkish military threat to these islands they will not be demilitarised. Also there still remains the tension between Turkey and Greece over who really owns Cyprus and the maritime rights over drilling for natural gas resources in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. On one hand Erdogan seems to be for peace and security but on the other hand still pursuing his agenda to see the resurrection of the Turkish Ottoman Empire that conquered the remaining eastern leg of the Ancient Roman Empire and then ruled for 600 years or more throughout the whole Middle-Eastern region, much of Europe and with its tentacles spread deeply into North Africa.

Today the Man from Turkey wants to control and dominate as much of Africa and as much of Europe as he can and the whole of the Middle-Eastern region and especially Israel, all of it of course for the spread of Islam and to regain the former ‘glory’ of the Turkish Ottoman Empire and so consolidating the Caliphate. This is the ultimate goal he has and he will use any means possible to gain this power.

We are told in the prophet Daniel that the Antichrist will be a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue and that he will become strong but not by his own power but by the power of Satan himself. Through this supernatural power he will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does because Satan will be living in him and controlling him. He will also destroy many mighty men and the holy people through persecution but will never erase Israel as a nation or eradicate the Body of the Messiah spiritually grafted into Israel. (Daniel 8:23-24). And so we read…

By satanic craft and cunning he will cause deceit to prosper and in his own mind make himself a legend thinking he is superior to all other nations. When he has established ‘peaceful’ negotiations with as many countries as he can, and when there is a peace of sorts existing between potentially hostile nations, and when he has the upper hand of power, he will suddenly turn on those with whom he is supposedly at peace with and destroy many when they are at ease. His main goal of course will be the eradication of Israel and to oppose the Messiah our Lord Jesus, but God will not let that happen and will destroy the man of sin and that not by human agency!

When considering the past track record of the Man from Turkey, especially as the globetrotting caliph totally committed to the establishment of a global caliphate based on the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, it would seem that he fits the description of the one Daniel speaks about who will oppose God and the people of God and the Messiah our Lord Jesus but come to a very fiery end when the Rider on the White Horse returns with the armies of heaven to destroy him, to rapture and resurrect the saints, to rescue Israel, and to establish the Messianic kingdom on earth. As the man from Turkey seeks to consolidate the caliphate, if he does turn out to be the man of sin, then his reign will be short lived and his revived Turkish Ottoman Empire destroyed forever! (Daniel 7:26).
