(Daniel 10:20b) “Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come.”
The man from Turkey is at it again. His hostile rhetoric towards Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel is intensifying. Two days ago a headline appeared in an online News publication which said; “Israel reprimands Turkish Envoy after Erdogan threatens to send “Netanyahu to Allah.”
According to the report last Friday in the online post the man from Turkey made a threat to; “send Netanyahu to Allah.” The latest inflammatory remarks by the man from Turkey mark a further deterioration in already strained diplomatic ties between Turkey and Israel.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz swiftly reprimanded the Turkish envoy in Israel for Erdogan’s threat. He said; “I instructed Israel’s Foreign Ministry officials to summon the Turkish deputy ambassador to Israel for a serious reprimand, following Erdogan’s attack on Prime Minister Netanyahu and his threats to send PM Netanyahu to Allah and to convey a clear message to Erdogan,” Katz announced.
He also added; “You who support the burning of babies, murderers, rapists, and the mutilation of corpses by Hamas criminals, is the last one who can speak about God,” “There is no God who will listen to those who support the atrocities and crimes against humanity committed by your barbaric Hamas friends. Be quiet and ashamed!” Katz said, responding to the Turkish president.
Erdogan has a long history of hostility towards Israel and is a vocal supporter of the terrorist organization Hamas and he is also an advocate and supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and its ideology for global dominance.
According to the report In September 2023 at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly there seemed to be a diplomatic revival of Turkish-Israeli ties. Erdogan’s brief embrace of Israel was rooted in the Turkish leader’s desire to improve the country’s economy through technological and natural gas cooperation with Israel.
However, since the Hamas October 7 massacres of over 1,200 Israeli men, women and children, Erdogan has increasingly condemned Israel for its military campaign against the terrorist organization in Gaza. In November last year, Erdogan told UN chief António Guterres that Israel must be held responsible for “war crimes” in Gaza.
Erdogan has not only refused to condemn Hamas’ crimes against both Israeli and Gazan civilians, but refuses to acknowledge that Hamas is a terrorist organization. Instead he embraces Hamas’ narrative, which labels itself as a resistance movement.
In December last year, the Turkish leader escalated his verbal attacks on Israel by comparing Netanyahu to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Erdogan provocatively asked; “What is the difference between you (Netanyahu) and Hitler? How do the actions of the Netanyahu government differ from the actions of Hitler?”
The Israeli prime minister blasted Erdogan for his hypocrisy. “Erdogan, who is committing genocide against the Kurds and who holds the world record for imprisoning journalists who oppose his regime, is the last person who can preach morality to us,” Netanyahu stated.
Earlier in March, the Turkish leader reaffirmed his support of the terrorist organization Hamas. “Turkey is a country that speaks openly with Hamas leaders and firmly backs them,” Erdogan stated. “No one can make us qualify Hamas as a terrorist organization,” he added. Erdogan’s Turkey has cultivated close ties with Hamas and several high-ranking Hamas officials that reside in Turkey.
Senior Hamas terrorists met in Turkey in December last year to discuss and coordinate the next phase of its aggression against Israel. Erdogan who at the time called Netanyahu the “Gaza butcher,” accused Israel of being both a “murderer” and a “thief.” Erdogan has “nailed his colours to the mast” where his ambition is to see the demise of Israel.
Now in Daniel Chapter 10:12-14 we have described a future war that Israel will fight with Iran. We are also told that there is “a prince over Persia or a principality” which remains today over Iran, which was the Persian kingdom in ancient times. We know that Iran will survive to join the invasion force that will ultimately come against Israel (Ezekiel 38:5a).
Now Daniel also writes that after the prince of Persia has come that “the prince or principality of Greece will come” to fight Israel. Now the Hebrew word for “Greece” is the word “Yavan” or translated “Ionia.” Alexander the Great had a western and middle-eastern leg to his empire and “Ionia” was located in the middle-eastern leg of Alexanders empire.
Ionia is today modern day Turkey. In the invasion force that will come against Israel described in Ezekiel Chapter 38 we see eight nations listed by name. Gog, the Antichrist, is the chief ruler or king over five of the eight nations listed. Gog then, is the ruler of Magog and the chief prince over Meshech, Tubal, and the leader over Gomer and BethTogarmah, which are all located in modern day Turkey on very ancient maps of the Middle- East.
The other three nations mentioned by name are today Iran, the Sudan and Libya. These are all Islamic countries are hot beds of Islamic militancy against Israel and the west.
The whole Islamic world is waiting for the Mahdi of Islam to arise whom they believe will lead the final jihad on a global scale against Israel and the western nations not subject to Islam. Clearly Erdogan sees himself as the one who should be the Caliph of a revived Turkish Ottoman Caliphate.
In past history the Turkish Ottoman Empire ruled over the whole of the middle-east, over North Africa and swept into much of Europe, and it was a dynasty that lasted for over 600 years.
While we see China and Russia militarily on the move, these will not become Islamic but end up a very real and tangible threat to the Antichrist’s Islamic empire (Daniel 11:44). Not only will the Islamic empire of the Antichrist conquer the Middle-East and destroy the moderate Arab kingdoms on the Saudi Arabian Peninsula that have traded with the western nations and conquer Egypt, but will also invade Israel and much of the European Continent.
His vast empire will also come against Israel and Western Christendom with its denominational infrastructure. Already we see an “Islamic Trojan Horse” entrenched in European cities and in the United Kingdom. The Church of Rome centred in Vatican City will not escape either. The Islamic world has never forgotten the Crusades which were instigated by the Popes in Rome.
As for ecumenism and interfaith organizations these too will fall to the empire of Islam. As for America, the coming elections will determine whether it stays a super power or becomes just another subservient nation.
With Iran doing deals with countries in South America concerning missiles and missile sites American cities may well be hit by these missiles from the north if there is not a strong and resilient presidency in the United States.
When the Lord Jesus wrote His personal letters to the seven churches through His servant John they were all located in modern day Turkey. In the Bible the number seven represents a perfect and complete or finished work of God and the seven churches may well represent the end-time Body of Messiah corporately as a whole.
It is interesting that at Pergamum the Lord Jesus mentions that it was the city “where Satan has his throne” and “the city where Satan lives” (Revelation 2:12-13). Is the Holy Spirit telling us prophetically that in these last of the last days the wider Body of Messiah in the west will also have to face the scourge of Islam before our Lord Jesus comes back?
Middle-Eastern Christendom fell to the hordes of Islam. Already we see persecution of faithful New Covenant believers occurring in every Islamic country today and on the rise. Persecution is also coming to the western democracies that have traditionally and historically been associated with Biblical Judeo-Christianity.
The man from Turkey may well be the man who will lead the revived Turkish Ottoman Empire in the Ezekiel 38 invasion with his agenda of making his revived Turkish Ottoman empire far more powerful and widespread than when it was at the Zenith of its power in times past.
Daniel also tells us that it will be at Jerusalem where the Antichrist and his army will face their demise, not by any human agency alone, but by the power of the Rider on the White Horse accompanied by the armies of Heaven! (Daniel 11:45) (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Revelation 19:11-21).
