“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.” (Proverbs 29:2)
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 the whole world is never going to be the same again. Freedom of speech and democracy are fast becoming a past institution as we see chaos ensuing in the Capital of the largest nation on earth that has prided itself on freedom for all and the right of every citizen to express their opinions, to practice their faith without fear of censure, and with the responsibility to elect the nation’s leaders. We see this reflected in the last stanza of the American national Anthem; “And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.” And the Star – Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!” Having said this where is America today? Is it a nation that trusts in God? Is it now a land of the free and the home of the brave?
For decades the USA has been the primary global police force in the world but now the sun it seems is setting on the American Empire. Whatever one personally thinks about President Trump there is no doubt that he has done more for the welfare of all Americans than any other President in living memory if the truth be known. It was President Trump who supported Israel and re-located the US Embassy to Jerusalem. It was President Trump who put a stop to the huge mega-bucks going to the Iranian regime to develop their nuclear programme. It was President Trump who spearheaded the security wall dividing the USA from Mexico to stop the drug cartels entering America with their drugs and to stop suspected terrorists from entering into the United States with militant intent on their agenda.
It was President Trump who increased funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, who presided over the largest increase in low and middle-income workers’ earnings in decades and whose policies helped lift millions of minorities out of poverty. It was President Trump who instituted prison reform and criminal justice reform. These are just some of the things he and his administration achieved. Added to this his total support for the state of Israel is unquestioned. President Trump is the most pro-life president in American history that has made it clear that he does not support non-therapeutic abortion. However, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris support abortion.
President Trump was invited to a meeting of the World Economic Forum, a movement basically dedicated to a one world government or to the Great Rest as it is being touted, and invited to become a member, but he saw the despotic power of these global elitists and walked out of the meeting. Of course this went down ‘like a lead balloon” with them! Having said this it would seem that the writing is on the wall for America as we see dissention and betrayal in the corridors of American political power. It is clear that there is a deliberate attempt by wicked and unprincipled politicians on Capitol Hill and by a media, which by and large through its fake news or bias reporting, are collectively totally dedicated to destroy what was achieved by the Trump Administration.
As for impeaching President Trump for inciting the assault on the Whitehouse it is once again fabricated by the Democrats who want to have despotic power over the people. It is so easy to take isolated statements from a speech and say they are inciting armed rebellion. This is what President Trump’s opponents have done. When listening to President Trump speak on the protest and the riot there is no indication he was ever invoking an armed response from his supporters. In fact he is a confirmed patriot and one totally committed to the American constitution and to the welfare of all Americans. Just consider how he honoured the veterans.
As for the Iranian nuclear deal brokered by the Obama Administration, which was stopped in its tracks by President Trump, it seems that Joe Biden and his administration will re-negotiate the deal with the Iranian regime on their terms. Added to this will Biden pull down the security wall separating America from Mexico? While President Trump is no ‘polished politician’ he is a man who has sought to put his promises into action, a thing which does not ‘fit in’ with those who want to see a world dominated by a ruling class at the top that have a socialist agenda.
No man is perfect of course and this includes President Trump. In the final analysis only God can make any country great again according to His sovereign power. He is the one who ultimately decides who will be a country’s leader and decides whether they will stay in power or be removed. To those leaders that seek His power and wisdom to govern wisely and according to His commandments and statutes He gives more wisdom to govern, however, those who do not seek His power and wisdom to govern He removes. (Daniel 2:20-22) What has happened to President Trump, even though it has happened at the hands of some wicked and unprincipled men and women in the corridors of political power on Capitol Hill, God still has it all under control! As it has been said “Man proposes but God disposes.”
In the Book of Proverbs it says that “Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in an abundance of counsellors there is victory.” (Proverbs 11:14) Godly counsellors working together with any leader of a nation will enable that leader to make decisions that honour God and promote His laws which are just, righteous and fair for all the people. While President Trump engaged with Bible believing Church leaders in the Whitehouse he was not wise in some of them he chose to have beside him. Having said this there is no doubt that he was most decidedly for the freedom to worship the Lord without fear of censure or persecution at any level. The very foundation of America was rooted in the Judeo-Biblical heritage, a heritage which President Trump acknowledged.
The incoming administration of Biden and Harris will sing a different tune and lead America on a merry dance down the yellow brick road but at the end of it will not find the Wizard of Oz but someone far more sinister and deadly! Much more could be said about the situation in American politics but what God says in His Word is the ultimate authority in all matters pertaining to the nations on earth and their leaders. It is also written; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34) Right now in America there is a leadership coming into power which does not by and large promote righteousness according to God’s definition of it or adhere to the statutes and commands of his Word the Bible. The very Judeo-Christian foundation that has given the freedoms we have enjoyed in the western democracies is based on the 10 Commandments, not given to restrict us but to protect us from ourselves, is being systematically destroyed. Once God’s commandments are trampled underfoot by wicked and unprincipled politicians that nation over which they govern comes under the judgement of God and America is no exception. America, like Europe and the UK by and large are post-Christian and neo-pagan today.
Most of the mainline Protestant denominations in the western democracies are no longer rooted and grounded in God’s Word. They are dying of a self-inflicted wound. They are dying spiritually, morally, theologically, numerically and in many cases financially. In America the spiritual state of most of Christendom is backsliding due to a departure from the Bible, by the invasion of the ways of the world, by the influx of the hyper faith, prosperity money preachers and Kingdom Dominion advocates, Ecumenism and through entertaining interfaith associations and these are just for starters.
When you look at the global scene today and the spiritual decline within nations it is clear there is a structured unseen form of wickedness that is at work in every nation to bring about a form of government that will basically control most of the nations. It is a satanic co-ordinated plan to destroy the Judeo-Christian influence in the world. One could well say that when we see the chaos and those seeking to bring about a despotic form of global governance, we can say that the devil is in the details. Satan’s ultimate plan is to bring his man of sin to power that will instigate an empire of global proportions where his law will be final and absolute and do away with all within the realm of his empire who will not submit to it.
At present Satan is working 24/7 to destroy everything that promotes Biblical righteousness and justice for all men and he especially targets those nations that have a Judeo-Christian heritage. The two people groups he hates most in this world are the Jews and the Christians, “the People of the Book.” While multitudes around the globe are coming to faith in the Messiah our Lord Jesus which is a wonderful thing, a pandemic of Christian persecution prevails. Ultimately true righteousness and justice will prevail after the Messiah our Lord Jesus has returned to destroy all opposition and to inaugurate His Presidency as King over the whole earth.
In all of these things happening on Capitol Hill and on earth we know that God still has everything under control! In the end true justice and righteousness will prevail! As the author of Hebrews writes concerning the Messiah our Lord Jesus; “But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous sceptre is the sceptre of His kingdom.” (Hebrews 1:8)
Even though Satan is engaged in a battle with the Lord Jesus and His saints on earth and is seeking to reign through his man of sin, Satan and his minions from hell have already lost the war. In the current world crisis the devil may be in the details but on the chessboard of this world he will ultimately loose the end-game he is playing when the Messiah our Lord Jesus returns to this earth and says to Satan “Checkmate!”
