You may remember the movie that came out some years ago called “Tora. Tora, Tora,” which focused on the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour which took the United States by surprise one Sunday morning. Right at the end of the movie on the main Japanese aircraft carrier when the officers were celebrating with the naval commander about the success of the attack, the naval commander became rather solemn and said to his officers concerning America; “I fear we have just awakened a sleeping giant.”

While this comment referred to America back then, today it can be said of China that was once by and large subjected to Colonial rule by the European powers including Great Britain, however, China is now rapidly arising as a global super power. On December 24th 2023 a headline appeared online in an article by a well- established website that said; “Israel’s Newest Security Threat – Is the US Next?”

According to the report an unnamed senior figure in a factory in China stated; “While China is imposing sanctions on Israel and that while China doesn’t officially declare it, but they are delaying shipments to Israel. In electronic products, there are tens of thousands of components, but if even one component doesn’t arrive, we cannot deliver the product.”

The report went on to say; Also immensely disturbing is that “massive” amounts of advanced Chinese military equipment were found in Gaza by the IDF during its military operations there. The report also had a statement from Harel Manshari, Head of Cyber at the Holon Institute of Technology and research fellow at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism who on January 8, 2024 had stated; “If you set up systems with technology for critical infrastructure, like electricity, energy, water, transport, these are tied to one another. One can be used to bring the other down.”

There is no doubt that China has a global spy network in place today via cyber technology and agents on the ground. China recently hosted delegations from Hamas and the Palestinian Authority’s ruling Fatah faction, ostensibly to facilitate “unity” between the two factions, all the while pretending to be a neutral mediator interested in peace in the region. The question is asked; “Is the enemy, already inside Israel’s gates, also inside the US?” or we could say the sleeping giant that is China today has well and truly awakened.

With China and Russia aligning itself economically with Iran one can see an axis of evil that is seeking to become a challenge and a threat to the United States position as a global power. Added to this, China has no scruples about supplying Iran and its terrorist proxies in the Middle-East with armaments to fight against Israel.

In March this year China, Iran and Russia had a joint naval drill in the Gulf of Oman, a crucial waterway near the mouth of the Persian Gulf. Footage aired by Chinese state television and a video released by the Russian navy showed the ongoing drill, known as “Marine Security Belt 2024.” China sent the guided-missile destroyer Urumqi and the guided-missile frigate Linyi to the exercise. Russia’s forces were led by the Varyag, a Slava-class cruiser.

More than 20 ships, supported vessels and combat boats from the three countries, as well as naval helicopters, were involved in the exercise. According to an online report Chinese President Xi Jinping outlined China’s principled position on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Ukraine crisis when he jointly met the press with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Paris a few days ago.

Xi said; “The prolonged tragedy of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a test for human conscience, and the international community must act. China calls on all parties to work for an immediate, comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza,” he said, adding “China supports the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations, and supports restoring to Palestine its legitimate national rights and restarting the two-State solution, so as to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.”

Right across the Middle-East the Arab nations, including the nation of Egypt, are all calling for “the two-state solution.” Added to this, virtually every country in the EU and the UN are also howling like banshees for a two-state solution that they all think will bring about some effective and settled peace to the Israeli/Arab conflict in Gaza and undoubtedly also in Judea and Samaria, the heartland of Israel.

Even the United States, Israel’s so called ally, under the Biden Administration controlled by Obama behind the scenes, has already betrayed Israel to Hamas, Israel’s implacable, violent, remorseless and demonic Islamic neighbours hell-bent on the annihilation of the Jewish people.  Biden has officially stated that “while the United States will continue to make Israel secure in terms of the Iron Dome and their ability to respond to attacks that came out of the Middle East recently, we are not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells.”

David Mark, a featured writer and the Managing Director of Pulse of Israel commented in his online article. “While it may be hard to understand how Israel will continue to fight without American resupply, Israel has been in this situation before. Before 1967, Israel did not have the types of arms pacts with America it has now – and it still prevailed. This is the land of miracles. Israel’s government may be flawed, but even they realize that the Jewish people have no other choice but to fight and defeat the Jihadist Nazis with or without America.”

There is no doubt that China with its expansionist communist agenda is starting to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan and to gain control of the Pacific Island regions of Micronesia, Polynesia and Melanesia, including the nation of Australia. China is becoming increasingly involved in Middle-Eastern affairs and will eventually send troops against Israel to accompany the troops from other nations to enforce Israel’s compliance with their demands for their two-state solution, which in reality would prove to be a so called ‘Palestinian State’ that completely excludes Israel.

God is going to judge all of the nations that seek to carve up His real estate! (Joel 3:2). Over a year ago now it was reported in the online publication “The Guardian” that Xi Jinping told the People’s Liberation Army “to focus all its energy on fighting” in preparation for war according to a Chinese Communist party mouthpiece. China, once ruled by western colonialism, has now become “the sleeping giant” that has well and truly awakened from its slumber and is now rapidly becoming a super power on the global stage.

Whether China actually has a “face-off” with the United States over Taiwan and possibly a conflict with Japan and the Philippines over maritime ocean perimeters remains to be seen. However, we do know that God will draw to Jerusalem the armies of every nation that will all join forces to annihilate the Jewish people and to establish a so called ‘Palestinian state.’

China will also be in the mix of nations coming against Israel. God is gathering these nations for a showdown which they will lose and that big time!  (Zechariah 14:2) (Joel 3:2). The Word of God tells us that God will draw all nations (not some) into the valley of His judgement and cast them in wholesale lots into the winepress of His wrath (Isaiah 63:1-3) (Joel 3:12-13) (Revelation 14:18-20) (Revelation 19:15-16).

These armies of the nations will be destroyed on the mountains of Israel because of their hate of the Jewish people, a hate spawned in the pit of hell, a place where these armies of the nations will go to await the great white throne judgement. From that place of endless torment incarcerated in the centre of the earth, they will be physically resurrected after the Millennium for sentencing forever and ever to the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15).

It does not pay to mess with Israel and this goes for China as well! It may be “a giant that has awakened from sleep”, but its real awakening will come, when its leaders and armies will be confronted with the deep dark fiery pit of Hades! As it is written; “The wicked shall be turned into Hell and all the nations that forget God” (Psalm 9:17). As for Israel they are as yet to pass through the Time of Jacob’s Trouble where God is already using these hostile nations, as He has used them in past history, to bring His people back to Himself and to the Messiah and to the eternal salvation found only in Him (John 14:4) (Acts 4:12).

Once He has used these hostile nations for His redemptive purposes for Israel, He will get rid of them in wholesale lots! In that day when He rescues Israel there will be shouts of victory in the camp of the Israelites and unbridled joy accompanied by loud weeping and tears of repentance (Zechariah 12:10-14). In that day all Israel will be gloriously saved! (Romans 11:25-27) Once again the Israelites (as the Bible calls them) will sing the Song of Moses!  (Exodus 15:1-21)

As for the sleeping Giant Communist China that has already awakened from sleep, it will experience its worst ever nightmare come true at Jerusalem! As the prophet Joel writes; “Let the nations be aroused and come up to the valley where YHWH judges, for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full; the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great” (Joel 3:12-13). When the Lord Jesus Israel’s Messiah returns to Jerusalem, all the redeemed of all the ages will, along with Israel, sing the Song of Moses and of the Lamb of God (Revelation 15:3).
