“So the LORD of Hosts will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and its heights. Like birds hovering overhead, so the LORD of Hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will shield it and deliver it; He will pass over it and preserve it.” (Isaiah 31:5b)
Earlier this week on Monday June 21 2021 a brief article appeared in the online publication of Honest Reporting. The article stated; “The results of Iran’s presidential election show that the world must act to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon” Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said at the opening of his government’s first Sunday cabinet meeting. Ebrahim Raisi, a judge responsible for tens of thousands of executions and who is under United States sanctions for human-rights abuses, was elected president of the Islamic Republic on Saturday. “Raisi’s election as president of Iran is a signal to world powers that they need to wake up,” Bennett said. “This may be the last signal a moment before returning to the Iran deal. They must understand who they’re doing business with and what kind of regime they are choosing to strengthen. A regime of executioners cannot have weapons of mass destruction and Israel’s position will not change on this.” Israel’s premier added.
Meanwhile, Hassan Nasrallah, head of the Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group based in Lebanon, congratulated Raisi saying, “Your victory has renewed the hopes of the Iranian people and the people of the region who see you as a shield and a strong supporter for the resistance against aggressors.” Raisi’s election puts hardliners firmly in control of the government in Tehran as negotiations in Vienna continue to try and revive the 2015 accord meant to limit Iran’s nuclear program, at a time when the Islamic Republic is enriching uranium at its highest levels ever.” Israel’s Foreign Minister Yair Lapid tweeted last Saturday evening that “Iran’s new president, known as the Butcher of Tehran, is an extremist responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iranians. He is committed to the regime’s nuclear ambitions and to its campaign of global terror.”
Today in Israel one man has stood his ground against Iran and that was the now former Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. He knew the real mindset of the Iranian Ayatollahs and what their end-game plan was and consistently warned the political establishments of Europe, Great Britain and the United States of the rapid development of Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Former President Trump was onside with Prime Minister Netanyahu and he, like Benjamin Netanyahu, knew what they were dealing with concerning the nation of Iran. President Trump scrapped the Iranian nuclear deal much to the chagrin of Obama and the Democrats, the European Union and Great Britain already infested with militant Muslims.
The nuclear deal brokered by Obama, who in reality is a Muslim and the favourite boy of the Mullah’s, even entertained members of the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House when he was in office. Well, Obama and his henchmen in Washington put forward Joe Biden (Obama’s former Vice President) as the President after President Trump was removed through what seems quite clear now was a ‘rigged election.’ Now in Israel they have a new Prime Minister. Naftali Bennet has made it clear it seems that he will be unlikely to shed the adversarial stance held by his predecessor against the Iranian nuclear deal, a view shared by the top military and political establishment within Israel. Hopefully he will ‘stick to his guns!’ As for the new Iranian leader he is an Islamic ‘hardliner.’ Judge Ebrahim Raisi as the newly elected Iranian President has said that his regime would be a “regime of brutal hangmen” with which world powers should not negotiate a new nuclear deal.
Meanwhile the politicians in the European Union and the Biden Administration with Joe Biden being ‘goaded’ on by Obama behind the scenes, push ahead with resurrecting the 2015 Iranian Nuclear Deal brokered by Obama when he was in office. Once Iran goes nuclear the whole world will reel at what they will do once the Ayatollah regime has nuclear capability. It seems that a veil is over the eyes of the politicians of the western democracies. Either that, or they just do not want to see what is looming on the horizon for the west and the Arab nations. The Iranian regime already has its missile silos pointed towards Israel, towards the Arab nations located on the Saudi Arabian Peninsula and even towards America if they can develop the range capacity for their missiles. An Iranian missile with a nuclear warhead on it may well reach its intended target if their nuclear programme is accelerated.
One just has to see a video of the Iranian Ayatollah whipping up a large crowd of young Muslim men to the point where they start to chant in Unison, “Death to Israel, Death to America!” to see the Iranian regimes hate for Israel and the western nations. On the stage of world affairs in the Middle East Biden smiles, Harris laughs and the Democrats in America push to continue their nuclear deal with Iran. Of course Obama more than likely is behind the scenes back stage clapping his hands with glee at the prospects of the fall of America and the demise of Israel at the hands of Islam while enjoying the benefits and perks of a western lifestyle at the expense of the American taxpayer!
Now this ‘new boy on the block’ in Iran may well seek to kick start WWIII? We do know from the Word of God that a 200 million man Middle Eastern army will come across the dried up Euphrates River having firepower that will kill a third of mankind. It will be a judgement of God against mankind in general, who at this time, will be by and large, unrepentant of their idolatry, worship of demons, their murders, their occult practices, their sexual immorality and their thefts. (Revelation 9:13-19) Iran will be a part of this end-time army but it will be led by Turkey backed by militant Islamic nations, all hell-bent on destroying western democracy but more so Israel.
It seems that Israel’s leaders are the only ones that can see the dire threat Iran poses for Israel and for the western democracies. Iran and Israel have been in a long-running “shadow war”, which has resulted in both countries taking part in tit-for-tat actions, but so far avoiding all-out conflict. Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran’s supreme leader, has repeatedly called for the elimination of the state of Israel. In 2018, he described the country as a “cancerous tumour” that had to be removed from the region. Israel sees Iran as a major threat and has repeatedly insisted that it wants to develop nuclear weapons. Recently the hostilities between the two countries have escalated again. Iran blames Israel for the murder of its top nuclear scientist last year and an attack on one of its uranium enrichment plants in April.
In the Book of Daniel Chapter 10 we have described a future war between Israel and Iran. The vision concerns the last days or the latter times. (Daniel 10:12-14) It may well be that Naftali Bennet will be the strong man in Israel to stand up to Judge Ebrahim Raisi. It may well be that Israel will make the first strike and actually take out the Iran’s only main nuclear facility the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant which would see their nuclear programme railroaded for some time. This is also a strong possibility on the agenda of the Israeli defence force. Of course the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council being China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States together with Germany and the European Union, might object and ultimately turn on Israel.
We know from God’s Word that many nations will attack and occupy Jerusalem for three and a half years by the Jewish calendar but at the end the Lord Jesus will return with the armies of heaven and the glorified saints to fight against those nations, destroy their leaders and inaugurate His Messianic kingdom on earth. (Daniel 12:7b) (Zechariah 14:3-5) (Jude 1:14-15) Judah will also fight at Jerusalem. (Zechariah 14:14) Naftali Bennet may well turn out to be a worthy leader and protector of Israel but he cannot be its saviour! This will be the work of the Messiah our Lord Jesus when He comes back. In that day God will fight for Israel!
