A Multi-Front War
In yesterday’s edition of Israel Today Online a headline read; “ANALYSIS: Has Iran’s Multi-Front War Against Israel Already Begun?” the article went to address the possibility of a an all-out war for Israel that they would have to fight possibly on three fronts. “It was reported concerning Gaza that what began as an organized Palestinian mass protests against the ‘Israeli siege’ has now become a new type of warfare where Hamas and Islamic Jihad (both are funded and trained by the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are using incendiary kites and explosives-laden helium balloons to terrorize southern Israel. This Islamic Jihad campaign has already caused more than 450 fires that destroyed 25,000 dunams of forests and agricultural fields, resulting in millions of dollars in damages. Last weekend, the Israeli military started to treat the ‘Kite Jihad’ as a terror campaign, and introduced a tit-for-tat strategy that includes airstrikes on Hamas and Islamic Jihad targets in Gaza, as well as attacks on cells that are responsible for organizing and carrying out the kite terror.
‘Kite Jihad’
However, Israel has been unable to halt the ‘Kite Jihad,’ and Hamas has vowed to extend the campaign into next summer, claiming that the incendiary devices could eventually reach targets as far as 40 kilometres from the Gaza border. On Tuesday night, the sides came close to all-out war when 45 rockets and mortar shells were fired into southern Israel after the IAF struck 25 terror-related targets in Gaza. The IDF has said it is ready to enter Gaza whenever the Israeli government decides to put an end to the ‘Kite Jihad’ and the renewed rocket attacks on Israel. In Syria, meanwhile, Israel is continuing its efforts to halt the Iranian military build-up by launching airstrikes on Iran-related targets as far away as the Iraqi border. At the same time, the Netanyahu government has launched a diplomatic offensive to keep Iran and its proxies away from the Israeli border.
IAF Strikes
It remains to be seen, however, if the diplomatic offensive will bear fruit, and if the increasing IAF strikes on Iran-related targets throughout Syria will deter Tehran from establishing the final stretch of the their land corridor to the Israeli border. Hezbollah terrorists and members of other Iranian-backed Shiite militias have been spotted in Lebanon wearing Syrian army uniforms to disguise their presence near the Israeli border, while on Tuesday night the Syrian army finally started the long-anticipated offensive against rebels in the Daara province. This happened despite repeated American warnings to the Assad regime and its allies to not breach the de-escalation agreement in southwest Syria, a move that could trigger an Israeli reaction. In southern Lebanon, meanwhile, Hamas and Hezbollah are increasing cooperation and are training thousands of fighters while building new missile facilities in preparation for the future multi-front war with Israel.”
The Word of the LORD
Asaph the Psalmist/Singer composed Psalm 83 and it would seem that it was indeed a prophetic psalm as today we see Israel’s immediate Islamic Arab neighbours, spurred on by Iran, preparing for an all-out offensive against Israel. If this war occurs, which I am persuaded will happen, Israel will win! They will ‘take the field!’ I am also persuaded this war will not be the Ezekiel 38 Invasion which is to come later. All of the problems on the Gaza border with Hamas and the real threat from Hezbollah in Lebanon and the conflict across Israel’s Northern borders with Syria also supported by Iran are going to be sorted out by the LORD if Asaph’s psalm is prophetic which I am persuaded it is. In that day when the LORD steps in to defend Israel asthe prophet Amos declares; “The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.” What then is the Word of the LORD for Syria, Gaza, Lebanon and Iran?
#1. The Word of the LORD concerning Syria;
“For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron. So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad. I will break the gate-bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of Aven, and him who holds the sceptre from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir, says the LORD” (Amos 1:3-5) As for Damascus it “will become a ruinous heap.” (Isaiah 17:1) Syria has already tasted the military prowess of the Israelis in the air and on the ground.
#2. The Word of the LORD concerning Gaza, the home of Hamas;
“Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they carried into exile a whole people to deliver them up to Edom (Saudi Arabia, the heart of Islam). So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds. I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod, and him who holds the sceptre from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,” says the Lord God.” (Amos 1:6-8) The Philistines have long gone but the same principality that empowered the Philistines to harass Israel is behind Hamas today. What God did to the Philistines He is going to do to the PA and Hamas in Gaza. Ultimately “Israel will swoop down upon the shoulders of the Philistines” (Isaiah 11:14) God’s ultimate judgement will fall on Islam in Gaza!
#3. The Word of the LORD concerning Lebanon, the home of Hezbollah;
“Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered up a whole people to Edom, (Saudi Arabia, the heart of Islam) and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood. So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds.” (Amos 1:9-10) Once again God’s ultimate judgement will fall on Islam in Lebanon. Hezbollah will be utterly destroyed! They are fighting a war they cannot ultimately win!
#4. The Word of the LORD concerning Iran, the home of the Ayatollahs;
As for Iran God Himself says; “So I will shatter Elam (Iran) before their foes, before those who seek their lives. I will bring disaster upon them, even My fierce anger, declares the LORD. I will send out the sword after them until I finish them off. I will set My throne in Elam, and destroy its king and officials, declares the LORD. Yet in the last days, I will restore Elam from captivity,” (or restore the fortunes of Elam) declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 49:27-39) There is no doubt that Iran is goading Hamas, Hezbollah and Syria into an all- out war with Israel. After God has destroyed the despotic Islamic regime under the Ayatollahs Iran will become a Christian nation and God Himself will set His throne there. God will fight for Israel against Iran and win the battle. (Daniel 10:12-14, 20) As for the Psalm 83 war it will see Israel defeat its immediate Islamic neighbours and deal a blow against the Arab nations that will be felt in the Islamic world around the globe.
At the End of the Age
At the end of this age the final battle will occur between the Islamic forces of Antichrist against the Rider of the White Horse and the armies of heaven and when the dust of battle finally settles the Rider on the White Horse will have won the day! (Isaiah 63:1-6) (Revelation 19:11-21) Then the Lord Jesus the Anointed Messiah will reign from Jerusalem and in that day Israel will “possess their possessions” from the Wadi of Egypt to the River Euphrates and “possess the gates of their enemies”…”And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.” (Zechariah 14:9)
God will have His Field Day!
As the prophet Isiah declares; “In the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD (the millennial temple on Mt Zion in the City of David) will be established as the chief of the mountains (kingdoms/nations); it (The Millennial Temple on Mt Zion) will be raised above the hills (Capital cities of the world), and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law (Torah) will go forth from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2:2-3) God will have His Field Day!
