The main theme of 2 Peter 1:16-21 is the Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah. Peter tells us that he as well as James and John had a preview of what it would be like. For them the Second Coming of Jesus would not be something secret and hidden but an event of splendour and brilliance that the whole world would see. Indeed the apostle John confirmed this when he said, “Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.” (Revelation 1:7)…
