The Harlot and the Beast She Rides (Part 1)

Introduction:

Nimrod

Nimrod was a mighty warrior on the earth He was a mighty hunter before the LORD but the original Hebrew language says “He was a mighty hunter in the face of God.” In other words he was a rebel and antagonist against God. He established a great Kingdom which included the cities of Babylon and Assyria (Genesis 10:9-10) Nimrod in the Bible was the great-grandson of Noah through the line of Cush (Ethiopia) (Genesis 10:8). Nimrod is described as the first of the “mighty men” to appear on the earth after the great flood. Previous to the flood, there had been giants and mighty men on the earth, and “also afterward” (Genesis 6:4).

From examination of the biblical texts and other ancient documents, it is clear that Nimrod was one of these mighty men, and there is also evidence that he was much larger than the average man—a giant, so to speak. Nimrod appears as a character in the mythology of many ancient cultures; he shows up in Hungarian, Greek, Arabic, Syrian, and Armenian legends. There is evidence that the Epic of Gilgamesh and the myth of Hercules both find their origins in Nimrod’s life. Nimrod was undoubtedly a powerful, charismatic hero-figure of the ancient world who actually attempted to build a tower to heaven, hoping to thwart the plans of God.

He was a Middle-Eastern (not European) despotic and autocratic leader and most likely was a giant of a man. He is also connected to the Tower of Babel. According to the historian Josephus, Nimrod said “he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to reach. And that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers” (Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 4). The motive, according to Josephus, for building the Tower of Babel was to protect humanity against another flood. But the reason for the first flood was humanity’s wickedness and rebellion (Genesis 6:5–6), from which humanity refused to repent. Nimrod was an arch rebel against God, just like his antediluvian forebears. He tried to build a global empire that would expand throughout the whole Middle-eastern region with the tower of Babel representing his empire and sovereignty over many nations. He wanted to build an empire of global proportions.

Nimrod also deified himself as did all of the Kings of Babylon and Assyria after him. From what Josephus wrote about Nimrod he wanted to be as God and to replace God if he could by building the Tower of Babel up to heaven. This is what Satan tried to do but failed to do and so will the man of sin (the Antichrist) in whom Satan will dwell. (Isaiah 14:13-15) The man of sin is also referred to as the son of perdition a title given to Judas Iscariot into whom Satan entered. (John 17:12; 13:27)

Nimrod is the first type of the man of sin (Antichrist) in the Bible. Added to this the kings of Assyria and Babylon in the Bible all represent in type the Antichrist or the man of sin, the Arch rebel against God and the persecutor of God’s people. He is referred to as “the Assyrian” who invades Israel in the last days but he is opposed militarily. (Micah 5:5-7) (Daniel 11:38-40) (Ezekiel 28:6-10) The King of Babylon is also used to describe Satan and the Antichrist. (Isaiah 14:9-17) the context is the King of Babylon (Isaiah 13:19-22).

The prophets, Ezekiel and Daniel, also teach that the man of sin will make himself to be God and worshipped as God. (Ezekiel 28:1-5) (Daniel 11:36) as does the apostle Paul. (2 Thessalonians 2:4) Ancient Babylon is the source of all false religions. She is the mother of all spiritual harlots. The mystery religions of Nimrod’s Babylon have, over the centuries, infiltrated every nation on the face of the earth. The main one today is the crescent moon of Islam representing the Arabic moon-god of war. While the Moon-god as such did not exist in the time of Nimrod there is no doubt that the religious roots of Islam go all the way back to the Tower of Babel.

“Mt Babel”

Today in Mecca you have the huge Clock Tower overlooking the Kaaba housing the black stone (a meteorite) and the Arabs have named the Clock Tower “Mt Babel.” This is significant when you consider what Nimrod tried to build in his time. Islam has the same agenda. The Arabic moon-god of war surfaces in the time of Gideon. In Judges Chapter eight we are told that after Gideon had defeated the Midianites that he removed the crescent ornaments from around the necks of the Midianite’s camels.(Judges 8:21 NASB)

The Arabian Moon-god and its image

According to the Creation Studies Institute it says; “In Old Testament times, Nabonidus (555-539 BC), the last king of Babylon, built Tayma, Arabia as a centre of Moon-god worship. Segall stated, “South Arabia’s stellar religion has always been dominated by the Moon-god in various variations.” Many scholars have also noticed that the Moon-god’s name “Sin” is a part of such Arabic words as “Sinai,” the “wilderness of Sin,” etc. When the popularity of the Moon-god waned elsewhere, the Arabs remained true to their conviction that the Moon-god was the greatest of all gods. While they worshipped 360 gods at the Kaaba in Mecca, the Moon-god was the chief deity.” Mecca was in fact built as a shrine for the Moon-god. When Mohammad conquered Mecca he removed all of the gods except the moon-god and monotheised the moon god, which was a meteor that today is known as the black stone and worshipped and venerated by millions upon millions of Muslims around the world. It is in a very real sense “the image of the beast empire” Islam.

“The Muslim’s claim that Allah is the God of the Bible and that Islam arose from the religion of the prophets and apostles is refuted by solid, overwhelming archaeological evidence. Islam then is nothing more than a revival of the ancient Moon-god cult. It has taken the symbols, the rites, the ceremonies, and even the name of its god from the ancient pagan religion of the moon-god. As such, it is sheer idolatry and must be rejected by all those who follow the Torah and the Gospel.”

Spiritual defilement

The Mahdi of Islam who will come in the character traits of Nimrod will seek to build a global empire, a replica if you like of the Tower of Babel. It will not be a literal building as such but a vast empire that will ultimately see the Mahdi worshipped as God and he will defile the Temple in Jerusalem just as Antiochus and Titus did in past history. The prophet Daniel writes about these abominations of desolation. (Daniel 7:24-25) Christendom has already been spiritually defiled with the Church of Rome that has ‘Christianised’ pagan symbols. The mystery religions and their religious symbols, that characterised Ancient Babylon of Nimrod and passed on down to the Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar, have infiltrated the Christian Church and rabbinic Judaism. The Biblical Judaism of Moses has not existed since 70AD. ‘God’s temple’ has been defiled already but an ultimate defilement is yet to come at Jerusalem. Rabbinic Judaism is to Israel what Roman Catholicism is to Christendom. They are both false religions and a mixture of truth and error laid side by side. Rabbinic Judaism is not the Biblical Judaism of Torah neither is Roman Catholicism Biblical Christianity.

The ‘modern Babylonians’

Today Islam are the modern ‘Babylonians’ and their agenda is to build a ‘tower’ of Islamic ideology and supremacy that reaches to heaven. At the top of the Clock Tower in Mecca called “Mt babel” by the Arabs you have the crescent moon of Islam. It is highly possible that the crescent moon originally represented Nimrod who had himself almost deified according to Josephus. The star of Islam may have represented Semiramis Nimrod’s wife who was seen as a goddess.

The two ‘deities’

It is interesting that in every civilization and empire you had two main deities. One was a male god and the other a female goddess. Over the centuries their names were changed. The moon is no doubt the symbol of the male god and the star the symbol of the female goddess. In the Book of Acts we read about this female goddess “whose image fell from heaven” in the form of a meteor which was at Ephesus in the time of the apostle Paul and was venerated and worshipped by the Ephesians. Her name was known then as Artemis of the Ephesians. (Acts 19:27-28) In Paul’s time they cried out “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians.” This was the meteor in Ephesus and the pagans were worshipping it.

Today you have the black stone (a meteor) in the Kaaba at Mecca and for Muslims this is also “the image that fell from heaven.” This ‘image’ represents a female deity if the truth be known. Today the cry is “allahu akbar.” meaning “God is greater!” or “the greatest!” In other words the moon-god is greater than the God of the Christians and Jews which of course echoes what Satan himself said’ in his heart; “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God. I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you will be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” (Isaiah 14:13-19) (Ezekiel Chapter 32) God will have the final say! Satan and his hordes will all go down into the pit of Sheol “where their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched,” and in the Messianic Kingdom “they will be loathsome to all mankind.” (Isaiah 66:24)

The ‘baby god’ in the lap of its mother

In the statues and symbols of these ancient civilizations in past history you always have depicted in images on stone and in idols of the baby god in the lap of its mother. This more than likely goes back to Nimrod whose wife it has been said was also his mother. Today you have the Madonna and child in Roman Catholicism. This is copied from other pagan religions. Its source is the Babylon of Nimrod and Semiramis his mother as well as his wife. The mother was more important than the son in pagan civilizations. This is why in reality the Church of Rome elevates Mary to a position of mediation even above that of the Lord Jesus and endows her with attributes that scripture does not.

Babylon in Bible Prophecy is a city

So then Mt babel in Mecca has its source in Nimrod’s Tower of Babel. The crescent moon and the star represent Islam which is an ideology, a form of government, a socio-economic system, a way of life and a military power. Religion is only a part of the whole of Islamic Ideology and militancy. The crossed swords emblem faces upwards denoting conquest and dominion by Islam. In reality Islam could be defined as “The Ideology of the Sword.” Today Babylon is rising and the harlot of Islam and its spirit of antichrist are spreading its tentacles into every nation through false religions and infiltrating Christendom and secular society in the western democracies. Babylon is more than just Mecca; it is the very source historically of the spirit of antichrist spreading everywhere today through television, the internet, in movies and hedonistic lifestyles imbued with a preoccupation with the pursuit of fleshly indulgence and pleasure in all of its forms which marked the ancient city of Babylon. However, Mecca is a harlot to fundamentalist ’diehard’ Jihad minded Muslims.

Islam is the main player today. The ‘Tower of Babel’ is to be built again but awaits the future ‘Nimrod’ to build it. There is a harlot already riding on the back of the Beast and it is not Rome or New York, as they are not cities in a desert by the sea, but Mecca is a city in the desert by the Red Sea and today is the modern City of Babylon, the mother of all harlots, the source of all false religion and of the abominations of the earth.

Corrupt Christendom with its ecumenical and interfaith connections headed up by the Papacy is part of Mystery Babylon the Mother of Harlots, not to mention many of the churches that are “in captivity to Babylon,” especially the hyper faith prosperity money preachers with their mystical dreams and so called revelations and those who follow them. Historically, Babylon as a city was never destroyed. The city atrophied over the centuries. Alexander the Great made his headquarters there for some time and was enamoured by the hugh and magnificent structures that made up the city of Babylon. Saddam Hussein tried to rebuild it but the allies put a stop to that during the Gulf War. In the future the City of Babylon will be destroyed, it is a city and its destruction will be heard at the Red Sea. Jeremiah the prophet writes; “Therefore hear the plans that the LORD has made against Edom (Saudi Arabian Peninsula) and the strategies He has devised against the people of Teman (the Saudi Arabian geographical area today) : Surely the little ones of the flock will be dragged away and their pasture made desolate because of them. At the sound of their fall, the earth will quake; their cry will resound to (at) the Red Sea.” (Jeremiah 49:21)

The Harlot for Roast Dinner!

I would suggest based on history and on the Bible in the Book of Revelation Chapter thirteen that the last two Beast empires are in fact the one and the same empire that is resurrected in the second beast and this ‘resurrected’ empire today is Islam and the harlot that rides on her back is the City of Mecca. Fundamentalist Muslims see Saudi Arabia as a harlot because of their supposed compromise with western nations such as America. Already Iran has marked Mecca for incineration by missiles and the Saudis are scared and are seeking shelter under America’s umbrella. Mecca is the main city in this ‘harlotry’ as far as fundamentalist Jihad minded Muslims are concerned. Mecca is the ‘harlot’ in a desert by the sea whose destruction is heard at the Red Sea. She rides the beast but the beast will buck her off from its back and have it for roast dinner!

Middle-Eastern, not Western!

We always need to keep in mind that the bulk of Biblical Prophecy is centred in the middle-east and the geographical areas and nations apart from Israel are all Islamic today and named specifically in the Bible. The problem with western thinking is that Bible prophecy must somehow focus on western nations but in fact the focus of Bible prophecy is on the Middle-East. History started in the Middle-east and it will have its climax there as well when our Lord Jesus comes back again to destroy the resurrected ‘Islamic Tower of Babel’ and to set up His Messianic Kingdom on earth.
